Back when George W was still president I discovered Real Clear Politics (RCP) as a site that included at least a few of the not so-left-leaning news sources and polls during elections.\u00a0 It became one of the easiest links to finding conservative information and opinion.\u00a0 I guess, it still is.\u00a0 At least I still visit it for news.\u00a0 But, my God, what a mess.\u00a0 Listen to these headlines:<\/p>\n

I mean, honestly, WTF.\u00a0 And if you keep score of the articles written specifically by the staff of RCP you\u2019ll quickly see that they\u2019re no better than the Washington Post or the New York Times.\u00a0 Now, of course, the Post and the Times (and the rest of the Old Guard) are obviously performing the same services for the Democrats as they did back when W was in office.\u00a0 The calculation is that a constant drum beat of gloom, doom and slander will eventually damage President Trump enough to stop his agenda and turn the nation against him.\u00a0 With W it worked.\u00a0 Once the war turned sour he was slowly ground down by the press.\u00a0 Of course, Trump isn\u2019t W.\u00a0 He attacks the press instinctively, successfully and with relish.\u00a0 And his agenda will be for the most part popular with every day Americans.\u00a0 So, I\u2019m willing to let him do his thing for at least a few weeks at a time without panicking at the sight of unfriendly headlines.\u00a0 After all, it\u2019s currently the democrats who seem to be whistling past the graveyard with these headlines.\u00a0 Next week the Senate may already have Gorsuch seated on the Supreme Court.\u00a0 And even the knuckleheads in Congress seem to be trying to get their act together.\u00a0 I\u2019m of the opinion that all the headlines about poll numbers plunging and panicking republicans are pure spin.\u00a0 So, what\u2019s this post about?\u00a0 I\u2019m just complaining.\u00a0 I\u2019m pretty sick and tired of not having a reliable go-to site with the content I want.\u00a0 But with a little fishing around I can generally see news and opinion that I want.\u00a0 Here\u2019s where I go:<\/p>\n

http:\/\/www.realclearpolitics.com\/<\/a>\u00a0 Yeah, I still go there first (groan).<\/p>\n

http:\/\/drudgereport.com\/<\/a>\u00a0 Well, of course, you\u2019ve gotta (and it can be hilarious).<\/p>\n

https:\/\/amgreatness.com\/<\/a>\u00a0 This where Publius Decius Mus used to write.\u00a0 I like a lot of the opinion pieces they write.\u00a0 And they don\u2019t have any obvious NeverTrumpers on staff.<\/p>\n

And there are other more radical sites but I\u2019ll leave them for another day.<\/p>\n

So that is currently where I gather my information.\u00a0 RCP and Drudge are news aggregators so effectively this allows me to cherry pick the best of what\u2019s out there.\u00a0 But that means there is a lot of dross there too.\u00a0 American Greatness only gives opinion.\u00a0 Between these sites I get most of what I want.\u00a0 And of course for all of the rest of the world there is the most important opinion site of all Orion\u2019s Cold Fire (OCF)!\u00a0 I mean, come on, of course it is!\u00a0 But modesty forbids me to elaborate on the obvious.\u00a0 So enjoy April Fool\u2019s Day (naturally, it\u2019s snowing here today) but don\u2019t be fooled by the foolish headlines.\u00a0 All\u2019s right in this best of all possible worlds.\u00a0 I guess?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
