Neil, I like photographing butterflies so I allow certain wild plants like milkweed to grow unchecked in certain areas of the property. In the fall the seed pods on milkweed dry out and open up but the seeds with their associated hairs (or floss) either stay attached to the pod or fly in the breeze in a random fashion depending on wind intensity. Some of the more sheltered locations retain these seeds for months after opening. I just walk around and look for a pod whose seeds are in an interesting state of disorder.
Good picture. Did you cause this explosion or….?

Very interesting. Thank you.
You’re welcome. I’m always glad to talk about my odd hobbies. The problem is trying to get me to stop talking.
