Really nice. How long did it take for you to get this–i.e. the picture you wanted?
Neil, that was kind of an interesting shoot. For most of the shots I was down on the river bank which was reached by a long stairway that was in some places covered with ice so I took my time climbing down. I used three different lenses to take the various pictures of the bridge and its environs. This picture was taken with a super wide angle 10mm manual lens. Sounds like fun and that you have a great hobby. Somehow I missed where
this picture was taken.
It is the Dummerston Covered Bridge near Brattleboro, VT.
As much as I berate Vermont for its politics, economy, and government, It does have some beautiful scenery and historic sites. I remember one afternoon when a perfect combination of sunlight, still air and very cold air made the view of Mount Mansfield from South Burlington absolutely spectacular. Ansel Adams could not have composed a better shot!
New England certainly has its charms. And many of the people, as individuals are fine. But their society is infused with so many pernicious ideas and an unearned sense of superiority that it’s like being shut up in a madhouse. It reminds me of the Mad Hatter’s scene in Alice in Wonderland.
