We have a southern Catalpa tree in our back yard, and it the first to turn in autumn. The leaves will start to turn in late August, lower, shaded limbs first, and then slowly up to the top as the seed pods split and drop. My Big orange Boy, Sam, uses it for his hunting blind and man cave!
