32 days until autumn begins
Tim, we had the end of summer party at my place today. The kids start school the Monday after next and we close the pool the Saturday before that. But the hot dry weather is slated to continue for at least another week. I finally got the summer I always wanted. I guess autumn will be fine after a summer like this.
We had a big flock of Canada Geese stop traffic on the local highway a couple of days ago. They were led by a BIG gander who strutted at the front with such brazenness that I called him “The Lord Mayor”. All he needed was a grey silk top hat and a gold chain across his belly.
Ed, you paint a vivid word image. Brazen is the word. The ones that don’t migrate are an incredible nuisance around here. Their numbers are always growing. And they leave their droppings everywhere. They’re like Democrats.
