That looks to be a fossilized “rolly polly” insect. The ones that roll up into small armored balls. I ate one one, thinking it to be a chocolate chip fallen from my cookie. Tom, you Floridians have some of the biggest creepy crawlies in the country but if there are still trilobites down there then look out for the lizards, they must be dinosaurs.
I agree about the best camera. I only have the one camera so I’ve begun wearing a very small backpack to encourage me to carry my camera when I go for a walk. Otherwise I might miss some good shots.
