This is a crop from a focus stack and as such is based on a jpeg rather than a raw file. This renders it less malleable for adjustments such as exposure. Forgive a slight roughness in the finishing. These are created for the depth of focus the technique allows.

Exactly. The sharpness of the edges and the detail is very different from a normal macrophotograph. The frustrating part is that any tiny movement creates blur and ghosts. And these composite images don’t edit well. Lightening and darkening the file is much poorer than I’m used to. But I am having a lot of fun learning how to do it.
