is the pink backdrop a flower?
No. This American carrion beetle landed on the lid of my granddaughter’s red sandbox. You find nature where you find it sometimes.
Very cool! I was wondering what kind of beetle it was. That little spot on its back is so striking.
Interesting looking critter. These beetles show up if a dead bird or mouse is on the ground for a day or so. Kind of a gruesome lifestyle but something has to clean up the fields.
