This is about LE-AH adaptors, I know you were writing about buying a 5. Just read this Sony tech – Using A-mount lenses on E-mount cameras | Red Cathedral which says that the 5 is useful only on a A7SIII, A7RIV or an A1. A7III’s, like you & I use, should use the LE-AH 4. The article is in Dutch but it translates well. I’m going to buy one more camera and just can’t decide on waiting on the A7IV (A7III replacement) or getting a A7RIV. Tom, I have the LA-EA4 and when I heard that Sony wasn’t going to include the A7 III in the cameras that could autofocus motor-less lenses on the LA-EA5 I was pretty angry. I’ve been hoping for an adapter like this since Sony went mirrorless and made my A-mount lenses obsolete. As far as the delays in the updating the A7 series to IV I was told it has to do with the world-wide chip shortage caused by the COVID supply chain disruption. I think I’ll wait it out. They will.
I hope you’re right. Working with the Sony system since they went mirrorless has been a painful experience. Now that their cameras finally work well I should probably just expecting more but as an A mount user I feel they owe us.
