Not even 100 years, as late as 1964, all US dimes, quarters, halved and dollar coins were 90% silver. Little known that the US Coinage was minted such that $1.00 in coins, no matter how it was made, i.e., 4 quarters, 10 dimes, 2 quarters & 5 dimes, 1 silver dollar, etc, contained .71 ounces of silver. I still have some pre 64. Silver spot price today is close to $25/oz. Pre 64 is popular today so you will have to pay several dollars above spot, probably around $27-$29/oz.
