A very nice shot indeed. I have a black cat, and getting good shots of him is HARD. The light really has to be right to reflect correctly off that deep black fur, as it just eats the light. And of course they are cats. You get the shot lined up, and the little beast moves, ruining all the nice highlights or going somewhere else.
Not cheating, just good planning. You still have to get the beast to get in position. If I see a cat wrangler in movie credits, I figure they earned their keep 🙂 .
