I took this shot at the Pensacola Mardi Gras. Not sure what to think or say about it other than to note I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t do that unless possessed by demons and maybe not even then.

That’s NOT funny..
The Congress needs to go back to what the Founders envisioned: Citizen legislators who “serve their term” and then, with great relief, go home to their farms or businesses, and let someone else bear the burden of government. (Perhaps we should also ban air conditioning in all Federal buildings. That would certainly shorten the legislative sessions. The Senate also needs to go back to being appointed by the individual State Legislatures. The 17 Amendment was a BIG mistake, almost as bad as the Volstead Act!

If anything the 17th Amendment is worse than the 18th (or 16th which is pretty heinous in and of itself). The 17th was allegedly to control what had been rampant corruption of the appointment of Senators and the use of their office. What it did was break an intentional dichotomy (the contemplative nature of the deliberations and slowing effect on legislation) built into the Congress. It merely changed WHERE the corruption was, making larger donors critical and just made a house that was slightly less responsive to the people rather than one responsive to the state legislatures.
