So apparently FISA needs to be renewed by the end of the year. Here is Sundance’s take on this renewal effort:

I am sick and tired of having to construct communication systems, to engage in ordinary conversation and/or communication, knowing the biggest challenge is to construct the system to defend ordinary people against unconstitutional searches and seizures. Ironically, this includes the very commenting system you are using to share any opinion of this outline. This domestic surveillance system just needs to be stopped.”
He’s right. It should be instructive to see which “conservatives” in Congress go along with the people intent on renewing FISA. FISA has been used to spy on and persecute anyone the Left doesn’t like. Those supporting this aren’t patriots. They’re Stalinists. Judge them by their actions.

This is a reminder that another piece of legislation, The PATRIOT Act, was quickly passed in the wake of 9/11. The act gave immense powers to agencies and law enforcement for surveillance. The caveat sold to the public was that these extended powers were only temporary, and that a sundown clause was written into the bill so that The PATRIOT Act would only be in effect for a year. Guess what? It has been reauthorized every year since being enacted in 2001. Government never subtracts power they give themselves.
I guess we’ll see if Kevin McCarthy is an American or just part of the hive.

Maybe he is. I find it very difficult to tell the difference between the evil and the stupid. Maybe he’s both. But perhaps he’s just stupid and can be forced to help us by someone who is trying to help.
Addendum: It was surprising that he released the video footage to Tucker. That was a good move to do. Let people see a fuller picture of the events of that day.
Yes the surveillance footage makes the claims of a violent insurrection seem ridiculous.
