It appears to repeat history to say ” Africa always wins” referring to the continent not the people. Historically the only time the Africans continent is productive is when under a native or forgien rule that quelshes any discontent this has been repeated ad nauseum in almost every portion of that continent. Having to deal with the dictator dujoir is a fact of life, and the cost of doing business. China might just have to discover this for themselves, European nations did from the early 19th through the late 20th centuries, no matter how hard you tried the tribal influence overrode progress every time.
Not to mention the looming 21st century food crisis. The West has artificially enlarged the African bubble of humanity for short-term gains in resources and geo-political maneuvers (think Cold War) for over half a century. The “Send food forever” plan isn’t going to last.

The African Time Bomb
Africa is on a knife edge of helplessness
“When you bail people out of the direct consequences of their actions, all you do is accept a set of indirect consequences, plus whatever distorted incentives come with the price of your bailout.”
That’s right. And evn if you are incredibly generous, can you sustain the supply. There is a finite supply of oil and oil is what produces the fertilizer that grows that food. Food is getting expensive, even for us.
