What kind of creature is this animal? It looks like a giant, prehistoric beaver or marsupial.
That’s a giant ground sloth from South America called the Lestodon that the ancestors of the Amerindians hunted to extinction about 30,000 years ago. If they were as slow as their modern cousins it must have been a sad spectacle.
