And the British version of 20,000 Fathoms was The Giant Behemoth; just as the Brits stole Godzilla’s thunder and called it Gorgo.
One day I’m going to do a comparison review and declare the best giant monster movie.
I vote for “Gojira”, the Godzilla version without Perry Mason (Raymond Burr), followed by a tie for “Them” and “Godzilla Raids Again”. I also like “Black Scorpion” quite a bit. The ending fight scene in the stadium is worth the price of admission by itself. The original “King Kong” deserves consideration but the “woke” crowd would condemn it. One of the worst would be “Giant Gila Monster”. It’s so bad, it’s good; and “Beginning of the End” is almost as bad. I vote “Reptilicus” (A Danish monster movie) as the worst giant monster movie. I saw most of Reptilicus and assumed the cute blonde was actually the plot of the movie. Was I wrong?
YES! You definitely need to do that. Maybe you could do it tournament style with a bracket system. Put different films head-to-head, single elimination.
What I’d like to do is find enough people who are interested to get a survey. The voice of the people.
