CrissCross – A Portly Politico/OCF Cultural Exchange

To put the lie to all this talk of inter-generational warfare my friend at The Portly Politico, Tyler and I have decided to reach across the generational abyss and sponsor an exchange of posts.  He has posted an essay here at OCF and I have posted one of my reviews at his site (see link below).

And the British version of 20,000 Fathoms was The Giant Behemoth; just as the Brits stole Godzilla’s thunder and called it Gorgo.

I vote for “Gojira”, the Godzilla version without Perry Mason (Raymond Burr), followed by a tie for “Them” and “Godzilla Raids Again”. I also like “Black Scorpion” quite a bit. The ending fight scene in the stadium is worth the price of admission by itself. The original “King Kong” deserves consideration but the “woke” crowd would condemn it. One of the worst would be “Giant Gila Monster”. It’s so bad, it’s good; and “Beginning of the End” is almost as bad. I vote “Reptilicus” (A Danish monster movie) as the worst giant monster movie. YES! You definitely need to do that. Maybe you could do it tournament style with a bracket system. Put different films head-to-head, single elimination.
