I wish I had taken our old Canon DSLR on our trip. iPhones are nice, but you just can’t get the same quality and zoom on a phone. I got some pics of some wolves and some bear cubs, but they’re far enough away that you can’t even tell what it is on the iPhone.
That’s a nice shot. How far away were you when you took it?
That’s awesome. All the wildlife we saw out there acted like they owned the place. I guess in a way they do.They basically ignored everything except their next bite of food. That held true for everything… Elk, bison, bears, wolves, eagles, chipmunks and squirrels even. People are just part of their environment at this point.
Yellowstone is a very odd, unique place. It’s built for the animals and the people have to abide by the rules. I will say it’s full of unique things, animal, vegetable and mineral.

And no hurry on any responses. Enjoy your trip.
I think I was about a hundred feet from that elk. He was nonchalantly grazing near the road like he owned it.
