August 16th 2022 – Deep Six Liz Cheney Day

I have always been open about my love for the vendetta.  As a southern Italian with Sicilian blood, it is probably genetic.  So, it will come as no surprise to anyone that of all the days that mark this mid-term election year it is possible that August 16^th will be my favorite.  On that day Liz Cheney is very likely to be flushed down the toilet of electoral politics never to surface again.

She will be booted out of the race for Wyoming’s lone seat in the House of Representatives.  The latest poll has her primary opponent up +22 with the poll at 52% to 30%.

Now having just returned from Wyoming I can see how truly poor a representative she is of that state.  Everywhere I looked there were billboards praising the second amendment and the right to bear arms.  I saw MAGA hats and flags all over the place.  My favorite flag flying from the back of a pickup truck said Take America Back Again.

Suffice it to say that Donald Trump has a lot of supporters in Wyoming.  And Wyoming is split 70% – 30%, Republican – Democrat.  Even if every Democrat switches parties to vote for Cheney in the primary she is going down in flames.  On August 17^th she’ll return to the January 6^th show trial as a lame duck witch hunter.  She’ll probably get all kinds of sympathy from her fellow nut jobs on the committee and they’ll tell her how brave she is and how she’s sure to land a great job at MSNBC or CNN like former Republican Joe Scarborough did.

But no matter how this thing is spun it’s gotta be an absolute gut punch for Liz.  After all her father was the Vice President of the United States and the recognized Prince of Darkness by all members of the Left.  That kind of lineage requires a certain level of respect.  To be kicked to the curb by the MAGA crowd must really sting.  After all we’re just riff-raff.  She’s royalty.

And so, you can see why this reckoning appeals so strongly to my instinct for revenge.  Liz is a creature of the Deep State.  Her loyalty is to managerial state and she probably despises the deplorables much more than she competes against the Democrats.  After all, they’re friends and neighbors.  Their kids go to the same schools.  They vacation at the same places and they eat at the same four-star restaurants.

So, circle August 16^th on your calendar and prepare your favorite snack to stay up and relish the election returns on Real Clear Politics or whatever news source you favor for election results.  I want to hear Liz Cheney’s tearful or angry or just gob-smacked concession speech.  I’m hoping for angry.  I want to know we got under her skin.

We’re nobodies.  Our lives mean nothing to the Masters of the Universe who declare that we may not use gasoline to travel to work or eat meat at our family barbecues or walk on an airplane without a mask.  But in just this little case we can make Liz Cheney sad.  She’ll have to be a pundit on a crappy cable channel instead of President of the United States.  Her dream will be crushed because she was doing the Marie Antoinette act and ignored her constituency.

It’s still three weeks away.  I’m very impatient.  That whole, “Revenge is a dish best served up cold.” thing is really annoying.  But I’ll do my best.  Will it be enough?  Nah.  November will hold the promise of so much more.  But Cheney is the microcosm of the whole thing.  RINOs are the worst symptom of our present political cancer.  They’re the kill shot that prevents us from saving ourselves through elections.  They’re straight up traitors to their constituents.  Because of that, flushing one of their careers down the drain is a schadenfreudian delight.

Bye-bye Liz.  Don’t think it hasn’t been a pleasure, … because it hasn’t!

Not satisfied with her imminent rejection by the state of Wyoming, Liz is looking ahead to being humiliated in a presidential bid in 2024.
