This is hilarious. They want the armed forces to switch 100% electric vehicles. I can just see an M1 tank with a 100 mile electric charging cable running behind it. It’s like a Babylon Bee satire come to life.
Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm says she supports requiring the U.S. military to adopt an ALL-electric vehicle fleet by 2030.
In a real war situation, the odds of having recharging infrastructure when and where you need it is not going to happen.pic.twitter.com/gegZZff0XR

Boy, you talk about a SPECIAL kind of stupid!
Ed,
I guess when your real goal is to demolish a civilization, making actual sense isn’t very important.
It’s worse. Just heard some of the testimony and the idiot is talking about an all electric Navy by 2030. Thar is so far beyond current technology as to be beyond fantasy. The current peak of battery tech resides in a Ford pickup and contains around 110 kW hours. This is approximately the equivalent of 140 HP hours or 14 HP x 10 hours or some equivalent multiple. The Ford pickups have proven worthless for towing any load more than a few miles. The current US Destroyer, the Arliegh Burke class, is powered by 4 gas turbines with a combined… Read more »
It’s almost as if they’re pranking us.
Ye gads! What about the USAF? Max takeoff weight of a C-17 is over half a million pounds. A battery pack would outweigh the plane. And how can you power jet engines with batteries? A US armored division has roughly 340 M-1 tanks (which get a mile a gallon in full battle rattle and weigh about 70 tons), let alone all the armored personnel carriers, support vehicles, etc. The victory of Desert Storm was more about logistics than tactics. “Amateurs talk about tactics and strategy. Professionals talk about logistics.” USMC hero and legend, Chesty Puller was known as an officer… Read more »
War Pig, I think this is meant to signal that in the glorious future we won’t be fighting anymore of these inconvenient and carbon dioxide producing wars. Of course I’m not sure the Russians and the Chinese have gotten the memo. I hope they’ll allow us to recharge our toy tanks on their grid every night and restrict battle hours to 9 – 11 am.
Close, Photog.
They are signaling that the United States will be ready to surrender about 12 hours after the first shot is fired.
Joe wants to hand a relatively undamaged country over to his Chinese paymasters.
We shouldn’t be surprised by this. For decades, the GOP has pretended to fight the liberals only to lose graciously. Joe and his allies plan to do the same in the fight against China.
What’s next battery powered F-16B fighter planes with a maximum speed of 150 mph and a range of up to 100 miles? The adjective that comes to mind is moronic.
