It reminds me a lot of what W said after 9-11. And I remember how that all ended up. To my mind the only way Netanyahu can prevent the same thing from happening again is to empty out Gaza and draw a final line on the map between Israel and the Palestinians.
Is he willing to do that? Is he even able to do that? I guess we’ll see.

My question is how did all of this get past the Mossad?
It does seem impossible.
Hamas and Hezbollah have launched a war against civilians and innocents. They had best be prepared for retaliation in kind, to the 10th power. The Iranians had also better check their bomb shelters, the IAF may soon be coming to cut the terrorists supply chain.
I would be very surprised if Netanyahu doesn’t use this horrific attack to make a comprehensive change in the status quo. If he roots out the Palestinians from Gaza it will severely damage all of the Arab-Israeli peace plans but I don’t see how that outweighs the chance to remove that existential threat from the very heart of his country. But stranger things have happened before.
The Arabs want a Palestinian state because they do not want to house the Palestinians themselves. Palestinians are like roaches. They despoil everything they touch. When housed in groups in other Arab nations all they do is cause trouble and ruin things. Put them in a nice area and soon it is a ghetto and all around it is rotten and spoiled. At this point I believe that the majority of Jordanians are of Palestinian extraction due to the exodus during the first Arab-Israeli War. Maybe the rest of them could live there. Or maybe the Israelis will decide that the West Bank will have to be divided permanently. I don’t know which will occur but I don’t think these people need to be on separate sides of a permanent border very soon.
