Crystals are found in nature and have very straight lines.
Some even have right angles: Iron Pyrite and table salt to name two.
When a poet hears about non-Euclidean geometry and relativity it sort of goes to his head. It reminds me of HP Lovecraft trying to describe “weird geometries” associated with his deep space creatures.
