That sentiment, if you think about it, was last used to end WWII. Since then, none of the “conflicts” in which the US was engaged in was concluded decisively, i.e., TOTAL defeat of an adversary. The problem with that should be obvious from the current eternal dance between Israel and Hamas. Every time, a sufficient core of the foe is left standing to reestablish themselves and reignite the conflict later.
