When the time of danger comes, all Americans, whatever their social standing, whatever their creed, whatever the training they have received, no matter from what section of the country they have come, stand together as men, as Americans, and are content to face the same fate and do the same duties because fundamentally they all alike have the common purpose to serve the glorious flag of their common country.
Theodore Roosevelt
Teddy would roll in his grave if he saw things today.
I think if he were alive today he’d join the Deplorables.
It’s become a bit of a cliche to say so, but Trump is definitely the Teddy Roosevelt of our times, though perhaps not as physically adventurous (TR navigated a previously unexplored branch of the Amazon River, and it nearly killed him–and that was AFTER his presidency). The’re both wealthy men from New York that rankled their Party’s establishment in a quest for reform. Both believed that government should be made to work for all Americans, and could at least perform some of its functions more efficiently. And they’re both prone to wild outbursts, haha.
Great quotation today, photog.
Teddy considered himself progressive but if he saw what it leads to I’d bet he’d repent and become a reactionary.
Oh, yeah. He wouldn’t endorse any of this mess. I’d love to hear him rail against trannies. I imagine that would shock and anger him to the core.
Anger is all I have left.
