The problem is, your enemy is never a villain in his own eyes. To him, YOU are the villain.
True. Objectivity is almost impossible to achieve. It’s only in the extreme case that great clarity is achieved. And at that point sometimes you wish you could ignore the obvious because of the cost of doing the right thing.
As for neutrality, it is well to remember that it is never moral, and may be a particularly mean and hideous form of immorality. . . . It is a wicked thing to be neutral between right and wrong. Impartiality does not mean neutrality.
