Deplorables of the World Unite

We now live in a truly lawless time.  You only have to read the newspaper or watch the television to see National guardsmen stationed in the Manhattan subway stations to keep the homicidal homeless and other random madmen from pitching subway riders onto the tracks in front of the next arriving D or F train.

In the high schools of the various big cities, most recently in St. Louis, teenage girls will bash in the brains of their classmates on the pavement in a fashion that differs not at all from that opening scene in “2001: A Space Odyssey” when the ape man is smashing in a skull with his primitive club.  No humanity is recognized and none displayed.

Today’s headlines talk about the gangs in Port au Prince eating the roasted flesh of their enemies.  There’s even a video of one man tearing off a small chunk of meat off of what looks like the charred remnant of a leg and putting it in his mouth to chew.

And of course, we have the recent toll of young American women raped or murdered by illegal immigrants.

But does any of this upset the Left?  No.  They’re upset because Joe Biden called Laken Riley’s murderer an illegal alien.  He’s the victim!

`It would be foolish for me to say that things can’t get any worse.  Of course, they’ll get worse.  Every agency of the federal government and many state governments are working round the clock to introduce greater and greater levels of dysfunction to our world.  California for instance is an incubator of ever crazier laws and regulations to snuff out any remaining possibilities for its inhabitants to enjoy life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness.  Our world will get worse.

But what is completely clear is that it is already so bad that it is impossible to claim that an honest vote by sane people would not reject those currently in power in order to try and reverse what is going on.  And so, we come up against the acid test.  If the November election does not radically reject the Democrats, then either the voters are insane or the vote was rigged.  Or both.

And practically speaking it doesn’t matter which cause holds.  Whether we live in a country of madmen or a sham democracy the result will be the same for me.  It means there is no relief from what is going on through “the system.”  We will have no one rescue us.  Not Donald Trump or anyone else who tries to reform the government from the top down.  If Joe Biden wins the November election, we can stop paying attention to these election rituals.  They will be nothing more than a bit of kabuki theater.  Something to distract the children from what the grownups are busy with.

And if we lose, I’m not saying I know what needs to be done.  Some other arrangements will be needed to try and influence our surroundings.  Maybe we all start learning how to influence the right local officials or pay for security to protect us from the mob.  I won’t speculate about revolution or anything like that because that’s already a heavily regulated entertainment activity of the FBI and the Justice Department.  I wouldn’t want to interfere with their latest color revolution production.  I’m sure it will be well attended by their cadre of young men wearing khaki pants and dark sunglasses.

But I’ll speculate that what we need to do will involve organizing financially and commercially.  We have to form an organization that concentrates our commercial clout so that we can negotiate with corporations that provide the services we want.  Suppose there was a rating organization sort of like Consumer Reports but focused on the qualities that we want in a provider of products and services.  So, for instance, this rating group would identify a company that would provide services that other “woke” companies would not.  But it would do more than that.  It would also recruit companies.  It would build partnerships with owners who were willing to provide the custom product lines that we can’t get elsewhere.  And in order to make this work, this rating company would have to have the ability to sway a hundred million consumers.  So how about a company that could compete with Disney because the rating company could sway the parents of tens of millions of children to buy their DVDs and stream their movies because they agree to provide wholesome entertainment.  Or how about a company that provides resources for homeschooling and also textbooks for schools that have committed to a traditional grade school curriculum.  There could even be a company that opens private schools wherever enough parents have banded together to support it.  These companies already exist.  They just need to be incentivized to guarantee the product line that people are already willing to buy.

And this rating company can do the same for any business.  You get the Deplorables Business Seal of Approval for anything from book publishing to banking to crowd-funding.  Just think of all the betrayals we’ve seen through the years from Bud-Lite to Disney to Target.  Having retailers groveling to get certified for the business from a third of the population would be glorious.  And all we have to do is get organized.

So that’s my big brain idea.  If we lose in November that we stop going around on the merry go round and just start building something that belongs to all of us in the sense that it wants to serve us what we actually want.  If we’re only a hundred million people in a country of three hundred plus million then we are a minority.  But a hundred million people is a mighty big minority and if we build our own internal world then that’s an enormous force for our own good.  We can have our own private schools and our own organizations and we’ll watch movies and read books that we sponsor.  And sure, we’ll be restricted to the red states for the most part but that’s reality and who really should want to live in places like New York and California anyway?  Those places actively hate our guts.

I’ve heard of the beginnings of things like this.  There is a company listed on the New York exchange that has an on-line listing of non-woke businesses.  Now it just needs an Elon Musk or someone of that caliber to see how this could work on a big scale.  Maybe that’s what X is supposed to be.  I hope it is.  Well after November I’ll have tome to think about other things besides politics.  We’ll see if any really smart people have the same idea as me.

Conservatives Getting Organized

As we adapt to living in Oceania (see map) it’s important to be aware of the differences between what we thought conditions were and how they really are.  The point is even if intellectually we know what our government really is, unless we explicitly list all of the differences, we may find ourselves lapsing into error on specific points that we haven’t considered.

As a for instance, someone who only recently became a parent may not have considered the reality of using the public schools.  Luckily all the attention over critical race theory in the schools has sounded the alarm for many parents but unless you consciously look ahead a few years you might be caught by surprise at the point when your kids start school.  You have to think ahead.

And there are a thousand things like that which are affected by the regime we live under.  And because of this multitude of problems that we face it seems to me that the best strategy for conservatives would be to create an overarching organization to concentrate the resources for the whole population and use the economies of scale to provide clout on our behalf.  As an example, we might look at the way AARP acts as an advocate for the benefit of older people.  By utilizing the membership fees and the buying power of this large pool of individuals they are able to get reduced cost benefits from insurance companies, drug companies, vacation resorts, airlines and many other businesses.

Just imagine if a “club” with over a hundred million members negotiates with a company or some other organization.  Let’s call it the AANP (American Association of Normal People).  You could only imagine the leverage they would have.  Suppose you were a publisher of school text books and such an organization said they were interested in making a deal to buy books for all their private schools from you but only if you produced a line of history and social studies texts that didn’t include the propaganda that the Left has been pushing for decades.  If this was a contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars a year, do you suppose you might put aside your ideology to get that contract?  I’m guessing the answer is yes.  Now this supposes that there is a whole network of private schools that would want these text books.  But once again, with an organization to represent conservative parents I could see religious schools and other private schools organizing to standardize on non-woke text books.  And if they did standardize, they could expect to reduce cost by this same economy of scale.

And this is just one example.  Imagine if Netflix was approached with a proposal to provide a premium service for conservatives that included only entertainment that wouldn’t disgust its viewers.  I think Netflix would jump at the chance to expand their business.  Who knows, Netflix might even be able to steal away the entertainment crown from Disney and start producing superhero movies and cartoons that parents and children could watch together without embarrassment.

But the biggest benefit of having an advocacy organization for conservatives would be the clout it would have with Republican politicians.  First off it could objectively rate the existing Republican politicians and provide a scorecard.  And then it could become a lobbying organization to bribe our representatives to actually act on our behalf.  I know it’s shocking to think of Republicans forced to help us but it could work.  There would be a carrot and a stick to help them remember why they’re in Washington.

Anyway, that’s what seems to make sense to me.  Why it hasn’t already been organized is a mystery to me.  Surely all these conservative think tanks must have some people who work on practical efforts.  But this could be part of that same problem I mentioned at the beginning of this post.  We still think this is our country and that it’s working for us instead of against us.  When we get that through our thick skulls then maybe we’ll start to get organized.
