One of the realities of macro shots is that the depth of field is millimeters thick. Nothing you can do about it, it’s physics. One of the things that I try to do to compensate is to get as much of the image in the focal plane as possible.
You nailed the whole wing and the eye. Nicely done. I had to go to a butterfly zoo to get any shots. We’re almost a month behind on flowers and butterflies. It’s pretty sad.
Tom:
I acknowledge the heat you folks put up with is beyond me but it’s the damn change. One morning it’s 35 degrees, the next afternoon it’s 85. It’s just the weirdest place. But you definitely have some nice beaches down there and good fishing.

Enjoy your late spring. Down here, it’s already full steam boat sweat-running-through-your-eyes summer.
I remember a day last summer: my yard, about noon, in full sun, upper 90’s, a breeze and so much humidity that the dew was still on the grass.
