“The lawsuit centers on the release of the French film “Cuties” that has been mired by controversy since its release last month.
A Tyler County, Texas grand jury moved to return an indictment against Netflix on Sept. 23, Fox News confirmed on Tuesday via court documents.
The complaint alleges Netflix “knowingly” promoted visual material which “depicts the lewd exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of a clothed or partially clothed child who was younger than 18 years of age at the time the visual material was created, which appeals to the prurient interest in sex, and has no serious, literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.””
Perfect. I hope Netflix is sued out of existence. It would be poetic and actual justice. These are awful people who would be better off in prison for the rest of their lives. If our society has sunk this low then there is not much hope that it will survive. In fact, if we allow this sort of thing to happen then our society should be destroyed.
Eagerly waiting for the media to ask the Obama’s if they are in favor of this movie or plan to end their financial relationships with Netflix as a result.
I’ll hold my breath.
Obama will claim that the movie is a brave portrayal of modern (very young) women asserting their right to choose in the face of the patriarchy.
While Netflix is despicable, I think the focus should be on the people who push these “dance” competitions/shows and the parents who put their children into situations like this. I’d NEVER put any of my children, my daughter or my boys, into a spot where people might even be tempted to get their cheap thrills while visualizing my children. I’ve never heard anything but bad things about children being turned into commodities. The worst is child actors. The horrible people out there who will victimize them makes me think these parents must be crazy to get involved with any of this.
*Unfortunately this suit/conviction will be tossed in the first brush with the federal courts.
Then all the more reason to replace the whole federal bench.
No surprise it came form France. They continue to shelter Roman Polanski from a child rape conviction here in the US because he’s an “artist”.
