I am going to try mightily to avoid politics tomorrow and the day after. I’ve already written a political screed but I’ve scheduled it for 5 am December 26th. Essentially, “Do not open until the day after Christmas!”
I’m going to look around and try to find some holiday related material to post or to link to. Of course if the storm troopers swat my Christmas party I’ll probably defy my own edict and produce a screed from the back of the Bradley Assault Vehicle but short of that I’m going to try to take the high road this year.
This is my favorite version of “A Christmas Carol”. I watch it every year.
George C Scott is a wonderful Scrooge. And the other actors do fabulous work. Marley is perfect. I also think this Tiny Tim is the best. He is indeed tiny and appears truly fragile. But I refuse to abandon the other two versions I also like. The 1938 and the 1951 versions also have many good points. Like a crazed addict I watch all three versions way too many times in the weeks before Christmas every year.
Those are okay, but I prefer Mr Magoo’s Christmas Carol, myself. 😉
Of course, to each his own. The only one I have that I’ve never watched is a musical with Kelsey Grammer as Scrooge. I just can’t imagine it. So it’s still in the plastic packaging. I’ll watch it some day in July just to protect myself from the contagion.
