On June 3, 1942, the day before the Battle of Midway, Japanese power in the Pacific was at it’s absolute zenith. By the end of June 4, the Japanese had lost 4 major aircraft carriers and they never recovered. The sinkings of the 4 carriers was done by Douglas SBD of the type shown in the picture.
