Vox reads a lot of stuff. This was a very good choice to link to.
Here’s a direct link to the article itself.
Max Boot is one of the most contemptible of the NeverTrumpers. This review of him and his book is also extremely clear about why the NeverTrumpers are anything but conservatives.
Back during the Iraq War Max Boot was one of the war’s biggest boosters. When I still thought W was on my side I would read Boot’s articles to understand what strategy was needed to win the war and allow us to get back to being alive. It didn’t dawn on me that ending the war wasn’t part of the agenda that Boot and the rest of the neo-cons had in store for us. These were people who would gladly spill every last drop of American blood in order to advance a global project that none of those Americans wanted.
Well, the mask is off. Trump isn’t Bush. So Boot isn’t a conservative anymore. He’s embracing the left with both arms. Good. Now he’s home. Good riddance.
The narrative would be comical if it wasn’t so repellent. It seems that most of these so called pundits just want a paying gig, regardless of who is paying the check. Enjoy?
Boot Licking the Left
Sharyl Attkisson was an investigative reporter for CBS. But during the Obama administration she realized that CBS wouldn’t allow anything negative about Obama to be published. She resigned and became an independent journalist (an honest reporter!). This interview was very interesting. In it she discusses the MSM’s abandonment of objectivity with respect to Trump. Afterwards she opines that Trump has shown himself immune to the media’s weapons.
Tucker Carlson was part of the conservative establishment press when the Iraq War broke out. He has since reconsidered the wisdom of that war. Here is discussed his recent quarrels with Max Boot and Lt. Col. Ralph Peters.
Here is a link that includes links to the videos of the quarrels.
The arguments are very enlightening. I think Carlson gets the better of it but I wish the argument didn’t involve so much shouting over each other. It’s extremely sophomoric.
