Another One Bites the Dust – Denmark Ends COVID Restrictions

Denmark plans to end COVID restrictions on February 1st. Britain, Ireland, Denmark are all returning to sanity.  And this is even in the face of the enormous number of cases from the current “omicron variant.”  Now, Dementia Joe is obviously slow on the uptake but even a dope like he is will catch up eventually.  Let’s say middle of March.  Hang in there folks.

Breyer to Retire Before Republicans Can Stop His Replacement

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer will retire after the current Supreme court session ends allowing Dementia Joe to replace him before the Senate flips to Republicans at the end of the year.  I’ve heard speculation that they’ll nominate Kamala Harris and she’ll get to approve her own nominations as the tie breaking vote in the Senate.  But I doubt even the Democrats want a moron like Harris on the Supreme Court.  Although she would save Sotomayor from being the stupidest SCOTUS justice of all time by a good margin.

But I’m sure a better choice is available.  I can think of a few; Fredo Cuomo, Don Lemon and most exciting Jussie Smollett.  All would add excitement and emotion to an otherwise boring Supreme Court.

26JAN2022 – OCF Update – This’N’That

Hello folks.

Here we are in only the last week of January and already Dementia Joe is:

  • Preparing to start World War III with Putin and Xi
  • Planning to impose price controls on the US economy
  • Struggling to find even stupider things to do about COVID
  • Repackaging his Build Back Better disaster into newer and even less appealing “chunks”
  • Calling people racists if they don’t acquiesce to permanent voting fraud
  • Dropping his vocabulary from three hundred words to one hundred seventy five
  • Swearing at the White House Pool reporters

But we have more important concerns here at the Compound.  Camera Girl has heard there is a big snow storm coming on Saturday and she’s concerned.  Reports vary from twelve inches to twenty and she wants me to swear in blood that I’ll have it cleared for Sunday when Princess Sack of Potatoes is arriving for a sleep over event.  I have vowed to use all my snow clearing skills to handle this “blizzard.”

Now all this is hyperbole on her part.  Even twenty inches of snow is hardly a catastrophe.  In the good old days we’ve had thirty inch snow falls and they are nothing more than a day’s worth of work.  Not fun but not disastrous.  In fact thirty inches of dry snow is much easier and safer to deal with than a half inch of freezing rain turning to ice.  But I talked up my heroism in the face of climate catastrophe and vowed to clear that road!

I’ve discovered that my Capture One photo post processing software will not read the raw files from my new Sony A7 IV camera.  So I must buy the upgrade for the software.  And that’s not a problem except that means I’ll have to link that computer to the internet to download the upgrade.  And that means Microsoft will start messing with my Windows program to force a bunch of patches on it.  I’ll see if I can shut down those Windows programs.  I hate that stuff rattling around my desktop so I have that computer isolated from the internet for years at a time but then when I do have to connect it causes massive attacks by Microsoft and a few other software companies.  Ah, such is life.

I heard about the size of that Canadian trucker protest from Neil.  I’m curious to see if the Canadian feds buckle under the pressure.  I wonder if the truckers intend to call a strike.  Now that would get the attention of the population pretty quickly.

This seems to be another indicator that the world is fed up with COVID, vaccines, masks, mandates and petty dictators.  The Brits and the Irish have already thrown in the towel.  Individual states and the Supreme Court have chipped away at pieces of the insanity but Brandon is still hanging onto that albatross that is rotting around his neck.  I’m guessing he will “pivot” in about a month and declare victory.  Well, good luck with that.  My guess is he’s already pissed off so many of even his own voters that November is going to be a butt kicking to remember for the Evil Party.

And it’s time to start thinking about doing taxes again.  The IRS has gotten hyperactive of late so I use a professional advice.  I wonder what nasty surprises await me this year.

I found a cache of museum pictures I took about eight years ago of armor and other ancient war equipment.  I’ll sprinkle them in the daily photos as a change of pace.  I must get out and see some new stuff but the weather has been unhelpful of late.  Apparently that global warming is extremely unreliable around here.

I read about Trump’s new social media project coming on line in April or so.  I wonder if it will be all that much.  I did see that Bongino and Rumble has some sort of payment processing company that he claims is cancel proof.  Now that’s something I’m interested in.  I’ll have to check it out to see if it would be useful to me.

Well stay tuned and I should have something interesting today.

Training Day (2001) – A Movie Review

(Spoiler Alert – Skip down to last two paragraphs to avoid spoilers and read recommendation)

Training Day is a crime drama starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. Hawke plays Officer Jake Hoyt, a young LA police officer who is heading out on his first day under the command of highly decorated and influential narcotics detective Alonzo Harris played by Washington.  But from the minute Hoyt meets up with Harris he realizes that nothing will be done according to the department rules or even according to the rules of law.  Harris pressures him into smoking what he thinks is marijuana but then finds out contains PCP.  Harris uses narcotics busts to steal money and drugs from the perpetrators without actually arresting them.  In one scene Harris uses a phony search warrant to steal $40,000 from a drug dealer’s house and then has to run a gauntlet of gangbangers who riddle his car with bullets as he escapes.

The only legitimate police work done occurs when Hoyt spots two men attempting to rape a Mexican teenage girl.  Hoyt has to subdue both men singlehandedly because Harris remains a spectator.  When the two men are cuffed Harris tells the girl to just leave without getting her information and merely beats and robs the two attempted rapists without charging them.  Hoyt sees the girl’s wallet on the ground and retrieves it to return it later.

And it just keeps getting worse.  We find out that Harris has the Russian Mafia after him for beating one of their men to death.  Now he has to come up with a million-dollar payment or be gunned down by the Russians.  He cuts a deal with the leadership of Los Angeles’ dirty cops whom he calls the “three wise men.”  He agrees to give them the $40,000 to obtain for him a search warrant that will allow him to steal $4,000,000 from a major drug dealer who is also a retired policeman.  Harris offers Hoyt a part of the money but Hoyt refuses.

And it just keeps getting worse.  Harris and the dirty cops are going to make it look like the drug dealer shot at them during the arrest and had to be killed in self-defense.  When Hoyt refuses to shoot the drug dealer Harris does it but tells Hoyt he is still going to have to claim to have done the shooting.  If not, the other cops and Harris will claim he did and because of the difference in stories Hoyt will be under suspicion and his blood test will show that he was using PCP.

Hoyt pulls a gun on Harris and threatens him.  The rogue cops tell Harris they’re going to shoot Hoyt but Harris defuses the situation by claiming that Hoyt is okay and will be allowed to opt out of the rogue unit Harris runs.  Hoyt calms down and leaves with Harris hoping to end his work with Harris after that day.  Harris tells him that they have to stop off at a Mexican gang house to hand off some payments for various illegal activities that Harris is involved in.  Harris says he has to go to the bathroom but ducks out and leaves Hoyt to be murdered by the gang.

But during the setup for the killing, they find the Mexican girl’s wallet on Hoyt and it turns out she is the niece of the gang leader.  When he calls up his niece and confirms Hoyt’s story, he lets Hoyt go.  Now he goes looking for Harris at his girlfriend’s house in a notorious gang area.  A knock-out drag-out fight ends with Hoyt beating Harris into submission and taking the million-dollar payment to bring into the police as evidence against Harris.  Harris calls on his neighbors to shoot Hoyt but we find out that he has alienated even these hardened criminals by his violence and corruption and they abandon him leaving Hoyt to leave with the cash.

Harris makes a run for the airport but two cars full of gunmen box in his car and riddle him with machine gun bullets and he staggers onto the street to die.  In the last scene we see Hoyt trudging exhaustedly home while a radio report announces the death of the hero cop Alonzo Harris during the execution of a warrant on a dangerous drug dealer.

This movie is a relentless assault on the sense of duty of an honest cop.  Harris pushes at the limits of criminal behavior from the beginning of the movie until the end.  Hoyt keeps meeting up with proof that the police system is riddled with corruption from the top down.  But Harris is a glib and persuasive devil who excuses every illegality as “how things have to get done in the real world.”  And surrounded by Harris and the other dirty cops Hoyt is confused and demoralized.  But he maintains his integrity even when it almost costs him his life.

The movie is incredibly gritty and hard edged.  But if a movie like that is acceptable then it is undoubtedly exciting, dramatic and entertaining.  Denzel Washington puts on a tour de force performance.  To paraphrase his character, “King Kong’s got nothing on him.”  So, for an audience that tolerates very crude language and movie violence “Training Day” is highly recommended.

Post Covid

As we continue along the painfully slow awakening from the COVID fever dream I guess it’s time to start wondering what will be the result of this whole thing. One of the things I’ve been debating is what percentage of people will continue to believe that all of this was justified. Another thing that I think about is will anyone go back and try to sort through all the lies and misleading information that were used to justify so many harmful actions.
For instance, for two years, we’ve handled statistics for hospitalizations and deaths that substituted cases that included COVID for cases caused by COVID. If this one thing were clarified it might enrage most of the country at the obvious dishonesty perpetrated. Another example is the refusal to admit that anyone who had COVID either asymptomatically or otherwise was just as immune (or more so) as someone who had been vaccinated and therefore shouldn’t have to be vaccinated.
One thing that seems clear is that someone like Fauci needs to be fired immediately. I’ve seen a video clip of his various pronouncements on masks, vaccines, boosters, mandates and other things. He has contradicted himself on almost every position and yet somehow, he claims he’s always following the science. This little troll is a pathological liar and is probably responsible for half of the anger afflicting Americans today. A doctor is supposed to, “first, do no harm.” That seems to be the opposite of what he does. The fact that he is one of the highest paid bureaucrats in the country is an affront to every tax payer living.
Another aspect of all that’s happened that needs daylight shed on it is the actual safety of the vaccines. The death and injury caused by these vaccines has never been tracked for the public beyond incidental news stories of unusual occurrences like teenagers and twenty-somethings dying of heart attacks and strokes. What needs to be aired is just how high the injuries and deaths are from these vaccines as compared to other vaccines like a flu shot. Without an honest appraisal of these injuries, doubt and anger will live on for decades and will hamper any subsequent vaccine effort, no matter how necessary it might be.
And finally, a law needs to be put in place to absolutely prohibit forcing Americans to submit to medication. Even if COVID really had been the bioweapon it was meant to be, people in the United States are supposed to be free. Forcing them to be used as guinea pigs for a biological agent whose efficacy and safety are wholly unknown is a crime that should disqualify those politicians from ever holding office again.
But the truth is nothing will be done. Our politicians are cowards and they bow before the might of the all-powerful administrative state. Fauci will be there as long as he wants. Morons in California and New York will continue to vote for creatures like Gavin Newsom and Andrew Cuomo. The only good that has come from this whole fiasco is that some of us now see who the few leaders were who stood between us and the bureaucracy that wanted to treat us like cattle and trample on our rights. I guess the best example was DeSantis. He stood single-handedly against the Biden administration and the school boards and represented us and our children. And now it can be seen clearly that Florida has continued to live normally while every blue state is only now slowly staggering toward the light and realizing what they sacrificed.

The number of Covid deaths over the past 2 years is about 800,000.
The director of the CDC, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, is on record telling us that 75% of those deaths were to people with four or more comorbidities!

How many with 3? 2? 1?
How many people died from Covid and Covid alone? I don’t know, but since 25% of 800,000 is 200,000 we know that the number is less than that – so less than 100,000 per year.
In a year with a particularly deadly flu season, 50,000 people die from the flu.
It is safe to say that the Covid death toll is about on a par with a bad flu season and we don’t shut down the economy, make people wear useless masks, and inject them with untried vaccines for that!

Another number – again from the CDC: Natural immunity is six times more effective than artificial immunity from the “Vaccines.”

Why then are we screaming that “Everyone mush get the jab!” when people who already had the disease are far better protected than the vaccinated?
Is it because the bureaucrats are lazy and don’t want to be bothered with the effort of tracking natural immunity?
Is it because its hard to say who has natural immunity? (Its not – a simple blood test will do.)
Or is it because the pharma companies got tens of billions of dollars from the federal government?
You decide. Corruption or sloth?

I think if we had competent national health officials they would have embraced the idea of providing the elderly and chronically ill with isolation and treatments like anti-virals and other agents for pneumonia instead of locking down healthy adults and unaffected children.  Instead we got Fauci banging the cash register for Pfizer and Moderna.  I hate that man.
