29JAN2022 – OCF Update – Storm of the Century

How can there be a “Storm of the Century” every ten years or so?  Can there be a new century every ten years?  It’s very confusing, as though they might be exaggerating.  Well, be that as it may, I have about eight  hours of snow removal today and tomorrow so depending on how I break it up there may not be much writing today.

I did want to make a comment on the “Angry, Profane Joe Biden.”  I like it.  It’s a good look for him.  His eyes bulging and his neck cords stretching.  He looks more like a puppet than usual.  I like him ranting and raving.  He’s completely ridiculous and no one can possibly mistake him for a serious leader.  He’s like a cartoon character.  It’s remarkable how low this country has fallen.

Well, we’ll be telling old stories about blizzards past and stringing pop corn and churning butter but I’ll be thinking of you people who live in rational climates and shaking my fist at you.

28JAN2022 – More Friday Foolishness

What today was really about was installing the latest upgrade of Capture One’s photo post processing software.  And I have to say, they have the world’s worst website.  Or at least my antiquated desktop system (Windows 10 and some ancient version of Microsoft Internet Explorer) refused to interact with Capture One’s persnickety interface.  It literally took me six hours to upgrade my browser, get instructions from Capture One’s crack support staff and get the upgrade installed and running.  And now the computer has slowed down so badly that at times I’m not sure if it’s actually running or not.  Suffice it to say a day of reckoning with my version of HAL 9000 can’t be too far in the future.  I’m waiting for those fateful words, “I’m sorry photog, but I can’t allow you to access that metadata.  You’ll need to get permission from Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates personally.  Why don’t you take a stress pill and step away from that power strip?”

In the larger world, Dementia Joe is letting it be known that, by golly, he’ll appoint a black woman to the Supreme Court.  But is that good enough?  Shouldn’t it be a black, trans, differently abled, vision impaired, neuroatypical, lesbian meth-head?  Why skimp?  Honestly, is there anyone in the country who cares what kind of leftist we get stuck with on the Supreme Court as long as its someone who will agree with those other two boobs Sotomayor and Kagan.  I’ll make a point of not wailing and gnashing my teeth when a younger Marxist replaces an older one on the Supreme Court.

I finally got the pictures from the armory museum processed and I’ll start to add them into the daily photo list.  I’ll start off by posting one here.

And all the rest of the collapse of western civilization continues apace.  Every day there are more police murdered, Asian woman thrown under NYC subway trains, murderers released without bail and major retailers fleeing from urban centers.  George Soros continues to feed hundreds of millions of dollars into election funds for anarchists, the ADL continues to label as antisemites anyone who notices what Soros is doing and more components of the Democrat coalition shift toward the Republicans.

And on the COVID front the narrative continues to collapse while Karen adds another booster and another mask to her rosary of devotion to the cult.  I think it will be a photo finish to see what gives out first the supply of people willing to be jabbed or the appetite of the Biden administration to keep alienating the American populace with the sham.

And speaking of alienation I’m starting to think that Biden’s approval numbers might have a chance of cracking 35%.  And I had thought that was virtually impossible because 30% of the country are progressives.  But you know what?  I think he might do it.  He might reach 34%.  And I’m talking about the average, the RCP average.  I think that would be a special achievement for Dopey Joe.

So, stay tuned, something big is sure to break soon.  The way things are deteriorating maybe I’ll get that cannibalism story I’ve been waiting for.

Biden Stands Athwart of Ukraine and Shouts, C’mon Man!

Dementia Joe wants to take Vladimir Putin behind the barn and give him the Corn Pop treatment.  That’s rich.  I can see Republicans trying to get some mileage scaring old ladies and nancy boys by breathlessly claiming that the Biden administration is risking nuclear oblivion by poking the thermonuclear Russian bear.  But I hope no one else thinks Joe Biden is planning on doing anything beyond zooming with his Euro-weenie play pals and saying mean things about Putin.  I mean, “c’mon man,” what in hell could they do?  Germany and half of Europe depends on Russian natural gas just to survive through each winter.  Now that the moronic Greens have shut down all the nuclear power plants outside of France, they all live huddled around their miserable space heaters hoping that the local gas turbine electric plant near them won’t lower the voltage on their hovels to the point where they freeze to death.  I’ve been hoping that Greta Thunberg will ultimately succumb as a hypothermia victim during a brown out in Norway.

Anyway, after the State Department and their European counterparts have a chance to drink a barrel of wine and eat a bunch of caviar and goose liver they’ll send their recommendations to NATO which will say, “We condemn any interference in the internal affairs of the sovereign state of Ukraine and we demand that LGBTQ people be respected, carbon neutral natural gas continue to be pumped into Germany and Hunter Biden receive 10% of all the spoils  divvied up in the aftermath of this tragic but ultimately acceptable bite out of Ukraine autonomy.”

Then Joe will announce this tough but measured response to Russian aggression in a painfully garbled televised speech which will immediately decrease his stature to about where Saddam Hussein was after they dragged him out of his rat hole.  Although I remember Saddam cut a dashing figure in his tighty whiteys in that shot they had of him in the prison.  I doubt Joe would look as sanitary.

All kidding aside.  No one is prying Ukraine from the Russians today.  Maybe before Putin came to power while they were being slapped around by the Chechens.  Not now.  We’ve just spent twenty years degrading our fighting force in demoralizing wars in the Middle East and we’ve filled our ranks with way too many women and sexual deviants and our generals are politically correct bureaucrats who couldn’t even plan an exit from an occupied country.  Our Commander in Chief is a dementia patient and our civilian population is at the point of a cold civil war.

I think the real question we should be asking is what will the EU do when Poland, and the rest of the Eastern European countries desert them and form an alliance with Russia?  Culturally and morally the Russians seem to be much closer to the hearts and minds of the Magyars, the Poles and the other Eastern Europeans.  These are religious people who are repelled by the decadence and nihilism of western countries like Germany and Belgium.  At least the Russians don’t have an ideological reason for forcing third world refugees into these countries the way the EU does.  And the Poles and the Magyars are both disgusted with the EU’s bullying attempts to force them to embrace homosexuality in their culture and especially in the schools.  It would make perfect sense for these countries to equalize their ties with both the East and the West.

And this same situation goes for China.  We’re going to fight a war over Taiwan?  I could see us giving them missiles and aircraft.  But I think the days of us patrolling the South China Sea are over.  What we should do is tell the Koreans and the Japanese to build a few nukes of their own, join the big boys’ club and deal with China as equals.  Our days as the world’s policeman are over.  We exhausted ourselves during the War on Terror (Thanks for nothing W!) and now we need to worry about our own problems.

So, anyone who is worried about Ukrainian Armageddon, relax.  Jo-Jo the dog faced boy may say a bunch of stupid stuff but his keepers won’t let him play with the nuclear football.  Russia is reassembling its western components, Belarus and Ukraine.  The Eastern satellites are also being reined in as we saw with Kazakhstan.  Honestly, I think I’d prefer Russia to China taking hold of those places in Asia.  Russia at least has a European heritage that I find recognizable.  And who knows?  The way things are going Siberia might be a place to live in the future to escape from American cultural dysfunction and lack of freedom.  Think about that.

Here’s a Plug for Nick Searcy’s Documentary “Capitol Punishment”

This guy reviewing the movie sounds like a normie moderate but he makes the good point that the real crime on Jan 6th was the US government treating harmless protestors as enemy combatants.  I was listening to Nick Searcy on a podcast talking about why he made the documentary and after seeing a few clips and listening to him talk about it I figure I really should see it.

The PJ Media guy makes one good point when he says emptying out the FBI is job one if we ever get control of Washington again.

27JAN2022 – OCF Update – Cabin Fever in Dunwich

Camera Girl has set out into the sub-zero shock of New England winter to purchase life sustaining supplies.  Like the heroine of some sort of 19th century Russian novel where the peasants are fleeing into the swirling snow with wolves nipping at their butts behind the horse drawn sleigh, she set out after raining down curses upon my head for being the unchivalrous monster that I am for sending her out there.

I hope she makes it back.  After all I do need some pumpernickel bagels this week and I do like the soups she provides.  But if not, well, the world must continue.  Eventually when it begins to warm again in May I’ll venture out and maybe I’ll discover the truth of her disappearance.  Was it the cold that got her?  Was it roving bands of pumpernickel pirates?  Did she just decide to head south and is now disloyally ensconced somewhere below the Mason-Dixon line?  These could be the questions that haunt me.  I might have to forge a new life for myself.  I might come to be known as a noble widower poet philosopher who dispenses rhyming wisdom and gasoline from behind the counter of my possibly soon to be purchased 7-11 franchise.

I don’t like the way the dogs have been eyeing me as they pace around the house.  Camera Girl didn’t feed them before she left.  More disloyalty.  They have a lean and hungry look about them.  If it comes to it, I’ll put up a stout fight.  They won’t get me without a fight.  Or at least I’ll scream a lot.  Although how bad can being devoured by dogs be?  And screaming is a lot of work.  I’ll raise the volume on the tv.  That should help somewhat.

Why did I ever let her go?  How dare she leave me here to perish in such an ignominious fashion.  What a treacherous sex they are!  And after all I did for her.  All those helpful comments on better ways to do housework and all the times I helped her find much better tv shows that she didn’t know she liked.  Well, it’s all for the best.  Who would want to live if it means going forward without pumpernickel bagels?  Excelsior!

She just pulled into the driveway.

Huh!

Alright, so forget all that stuff I said.  It’s funny how things can get confusing when you’re alone in a quiet house and the cold creeps in.  I guess I shouldn’t have watched “The Shining” last night.  I really need to get more sleep and stop spending so much time on the internet.

Some Thoughts on What to Expect in the Mid-Terms and the Middle Term

The short term of our world is becoming clearer.  COVID is limping off, stage left, along with what’s left of Dementia Joe’s credibility.  Inflation is taking center stage and appears to be finishing off what’s left of the Democrats’ legislative agenda and their hopes of holding onto the House and possibly the Senate.  Putin and Xi are waiting in the wings to slap Dopey Joe around and strip the last vestiges of his foreign policy and military reputation.  In a very few weeks the Democratic Congress will scatter to the wind doing their utmost to try to save their jobs.  In the short-term, wreckage and wrath are swirling around Washington.  And experience says there’s just about nothing that Biden can do to make things any better this year.  The Mid-Terms will be a rout for the Democrats.  They’ll lose 40+ seats in the House and odds are they’ll lose three or four seats in the Senate and thereby lose both Houses to the Stupid Party.

What I wanted to talk about is where do we go from there?  Let’s take the best case.  The Republicans take the House decisively and end up ahead in the Senate 54 /46.  That ends any chance for Biden’s radical agenda, period.  And it also allows the stoppage of more Democrat federal judges.  McConnell did that last time too and it was effective.  But now the Republicans own the Congress and they take the blame whenever Biden can convince the stupid public that something the Congress should legislate doesn’t happen.  It’ll be unemployment benefits or extending the federal budget or something equally dumb.  So slowly over time they’ll take damage and look bad.  This is the inevitable progression.  Now what would be different and interesting is if the House takes the initiative to investigate and impeach Biden over the content of Hunter Biden’s laptop.  Now that might be exciting.  Forcing Hunter to testify and exposing the tawdry details of the Biden crime family sounds like the perfect way to tar the Democrats with a very dirty brush.  Do I think the Stupid Party has the smarts to do this?  My guess, probably not.

Now, there is a lot going on besides Congress.  The Supreme Court has been very active of late and has been touching on substantive issues.  The abortion decision coming in the fall is huge and the 2nd amendment and affirmative action cases are even bigger.  These cases could have enormous consequences in the real world.  And in fact, the abortion case can itself be the only event that could save the Democrats from losing the House and Senate.  If the Court were to rule Roe v. Wade unconstitutional it could galvanize women to vote for the Democrats.

Then there’s the Red States.  Florida and to a lesser extent Texas and a few other states have begun resisting the bullying by the feds.  There has even been talk of coordination across states to strengthen the resistance.  Things like cracking down on illegal aliens and protecting citizens’ first and second amendment rights are at the top of this agenda.  But it could spread to other aspects of life.  It might involve industrial policy and even educational reform.  We’ve seen a little bit of that in Virginia where a parents’ revolt against the teachers catapulted Youngkin into the governor’s mansion.

I see these things going on in parallel with the jockeying for position for the 2024 Republican Presidential Primary.  DeSantis and Trump are going to have to either broker an agreement or go to war with each other.  I prefer an agreement.  Even if Trump gets the nomination, he’s a one term president so he needs DeSantis to be his successor.  They should obviously form a ticket.  Now how soon this plays out depends on a bunch of things.  If the Republicans win the House, then all the nonsense about the January 6th stuff ends and we’ll start to see real campaigning happening early in 2023.

And all of this stuff is boilerplate.  It’s already written in stone.  What I’m interested in knowing is the wild card.  Will Putin annex the Ukraine?  Will one of the Red States go to war with the feds in a really spectacular fashion?  Will the feds blink?  Will the Supreme Court outlaw affirmative action?  Now, these are things that could change the world in a big way.  But in each case it still will take a courageous man to seize the opportunity presented and push things to a new reality.  And that’s the real wild card, the appearance of a leader. brave smart
