What Do the Democrats Say They Want?

Now that the first two Democrat Presidential Primary debates have occurred, we have some information about what exactly they are offering the Democrat voters. One of the more interesting results occurred in Debate 2 and included all the major candidates except for Elizabeth Warren (or as she’s affectionately known in Massachusetts, Liarwatha) who unfortunately, was trapped at the kiddie table in Debate 1. The question was a show hands as to who thought illegal aliens should have the right to free health care insurance. Every single hand went up. That includes Biden, Sanders, Harris, Buttigieg and the rest of the clown brigade that drew the long straw. Think about that, at least all but one of the major candidates has agreed with the position that illegal aliens should have better health care insurance than many actual American citizens. The fact that it was a show of hands probably made some of the serious contenders feel that they’d been ambushed by NBC into saying something that would bite them in the butt once the general election started but they felt they had to raise their hands anyway.

What other Democrat issues are apparently universally held? Undoubtedly, Global Warming Alarmism is right up there. That’s low hanging fruit and so vague in its outlines that they can sign on and grandstand about how they’ll save the planet without any fear of having to explain what the hell they’re talking about.

But past that we get into issues and policy stances that become more varied. As befits a card-carrying Communist Bernie Sanders is right in the vanguard of those handing out the most gimmees. College tuition debt forgiveness, free college, guaranteed universal income, elimination of private health insurance and the institution of free health coverage for all, you name it he’s giving it away.

Behind him the other candidates are a spectrum of entitlements and one big entitlement that many of them have latched onto is African American Reparations for Slavery.

Another big plank in the Democrat platform is the legalization of all immigration and elimination of the border.

Liarwatha does have one interesting proposal and that is the regulation of the Tech Giants. But far from curtailing their ability to discriminate against conservatives she wants to force them to infringe on free speech even more oppressively.

And finally, they want to reinstate the globalist policies that sent all the manufacturing jobs to Mexico and China and devastated life in the Rust Belt.

So, let’s recap. The Democrats want to raise taxes on the middle class to pay for Slavery reparations, free college, free universal income, college debt forgiveness, free health care for illegal immigrants and taxing oil, gas and the electricity that they generate out of the reach of anyone but the rich.

They want to flood the country with unlimited illegal aliens from the poorest countries on Earth thereby eliminating all blue-collar jobs and exposing us to the violence and disease that will become the norm all across America. And they want to roll back all tariffs and empower China to control all the manufacturing activity on the planet.

All right. Does it seem to you that there won’t be much problem crafting an advertising campaign to deny more or less every single middle class and working-class vote that isn’t already bought and paid for? I mean shame on the Republicans if they don’t use this platform to win back the House and consolidate their hold on the Senate. And I can’t imagine President Trump failing to make hay with all the ammunition they’ve provided him. I mean Christmas in July is not just for the Hallmark Channel, it’s right here in our laps as the Democrats bury themselves under piles of madness. Actually, I’m starting to suspect that they want to lose this one. But why that would be I can’t imagine.

And despite all the ballyhoo in the media I still think they’ll anoint Creepy Uncle Joe the candidate. He’s just too weird not to stand out even in this slush pile. Stay tuned for the next debate, it should be a hoot.

Observations on the First Two Democrat Debates

I had planned to ignore the first few Democrat debates. There are so many awful candidates that I figured if I could let them whittle it down to a dozen or so I could skip a lot of the really mush-headed nonsense that the truly hopeless candidates say. But after I saw a few of the highlights on the news sites I realized that there isn’t anything but mush-headed Democrats in this race. So, I did a viewing of the telecasts and I was able to come to a few conclusions.

The first thing that I decided was that the script for this soap opera is written to allow some of the truly stupidest members of the clown college to have their moment in the sun. The kabuki theater about Joe Biden’s involvement with anti-bussing legislation was a well planned and choreographed operation. I’m sure even Creepy Uncle Joe was in on the gag. Elizabeth Warren was thrown some softballs to allow her to give her set speeches on climate change and health care. Pete Buttigieg was allowed the opportunity to address the killing of a South Bend black man by a white cop in a venue where he could display the requisite amount of anguish to defuse the disqualifying nature of this offense against Democrat sensibilities. And all podium denizens were allowed a couple of shots at President Trump just to prove their woke bona fides.

The second thing I decided was that despite the beating Biden took at the hands of Kamala Harris he would still be the candidate. I believe the set pieces that the also-rans are being handed are for the purpose of deciding who will be the running mate to Creepy Uncle Joe. A lot of headlines and gallons of electronic ink were expended trying to make us think that Warren, Buttigieg or Harris are now within striking distance of being the front-runner. The latest poll (for what it’s worth) has Biden dropping from about 38 to 31 percent. That still leaves him about 12 points ahead of the second-place candidate Comrade Bernie Sanders. Let’s face it, adding a woman and especially a minority woman as his running mate will help Biden overcome the creep factor associated with his shoulder clutching, hair-sniffing fetish activities. This is meant to counteract the disappointment that the more “woke” sections of the Democrat coalition will experience when Joe has to pivot hard right to avoid losing all the less crazy inhabitants of the United States during the general election. So, until that time comes, we are regaled with tales of green energy and the “millions of green energy jobs” that always are just over the rainbow of a democrat election victory. And the tweaks to Obamacare that will render it a panacea for all healthcare problems. And repeal of the Second Amendment and retroactive abortions and universal college loan debt forgiveness and free college for all and transgender emotional support animals for blue haired women and, and, and. Well you get the picture. Right now, it’s all about throwing the base red meat (or in this case tofu) and inspiring the true believers to think Pete Buttigieg could actually be Commander in Chief of the United States which of course is absurd.

And the third thing I decided was that barring a rollicking simultaneous visit by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse President Trump will steamroll Creepy Uncle Joe or any of the lesser members of the Democrat Travelling Freak Show in the 2020 election. Seriously, these people are an embarrassment. And without a doubt, the more intelligent members of that party are skipping this election to avoid the stigma of losing. Chuck Schumer is no Einstein but he looks like him when compared to Corey Booker or Kamala Harris. I imagine he thinks he’d have a much better chance running after President Trump is term limited. I have to assume we won’t be seeing any of these people running in 2024. Obviously, Biden and Sanders will be, at best, in nursing homes. Harris, Booker, Gillibrand and Warren will be hiding out in the Senate making believe they are important but the kookier members of this group will have disappeared down rat holes never to be heard from again. I guess I can continue to watch snippets of the Democrat debates but honestly it will only be so I can confirm my Biden prediction and guess which of the sideshow attractions will be his running mate. And maybe just to get a few laughs.

What Needs Doing this Year to Guarantee the 2020 Reelection

In an earlier post I said that the last two years had revolutionized the situation in the US. But as everyone knows Americans embody the attitude, “what have you done for me lately?”

So in the spirit of trying to make Deplorable America scream, “It’s too much winning!” Here is what I think should be the agenda for the next six months.

Codify, normalize and accelerate the deportations.
Prosecute Google and Facebook for demonetizing and de-platforming their customers on the basis of political ideology.
Finish a deal with China that brings even more jobs to America.
Fiscally punish the Sanctuary states.
Work with the new British Prime Minister on a trade deal that will facilitate a hard Brexit.
Come up with a great nick-name for each of the Democrat Clown Car Gang (although some of them have picked the names out themselves, I’m looking at you Spartacus).
Have the indictments of the Justice Department coup leaders a reality by early fall.
Get something to finally stick to the Clintons and lock her up.
Prosecute employers who employ illegal aliens.
Do an exclusive interview for Orion’s Cold Fire and appear in a cameo scene in the next Deadpool movie (alright, I made up those last two for myself).

And most of these agenda items have both a positive and negative aspect. Weakening Google and Facebook for instance, not only energizes our side but also depresses the Left. There’s nothing that bums them out like being zinged on social media. For them that’s like a thumb in the eye. And just imagine how deportations and targeting employers of illegal aliens will depress the fraudulent vote situation.

So these are the priorities that I see. If the President accomplishes even most of these he will ensure his re-election and also improve the Republicans’ outcomes in the Senate, House and even state elections. And based on his actions over the last couple of years I know he is well aware of the importance of these priorities and I fully expect to see them move forward.

But it’s the summer and things slow down a good deal and bloggers and other talkers get bored of not having something big going on all the time.

But if I had to pick the one thing that would most powerfully improve the chances of re-election, I say prosecuting the DOJ conspirators. If the true story is as juicy as it seems, it will be like a modern day Watergate and will surely tar the Democrats in the eyes of the American voters, including especially the Independents. And the cherry on the float would be if Biden ends up involved in the Russia-gate thing as a distraction from his own Russia and Ukraine involvements. I’d love to see the the Beau Biden Ukraine story blow up in the DNC’s face after Creepy Joe is the nominee.

I’m very impatient to see this get going but I’m guessing that saving something for the Fall and Winter are tactically important. Well, patient is a virtue they say. Unfortunately for me, it’s one I do not possess.

Who Will Emerge from the Democrat Clown Car as the Nominee?

When you look at the 2020 Democratic Presidential field it almost takes your breath away. The sheer range of nitwittery is stunning. Joe Biden, a serial plagiarist, shoulder clutcher and hair sniffer with bad hair plugs. Corey Booker, a man who declared himself Spartacus in front of a tv camera. Elizabeth Warren, an Okie who couldn’t be whiter trying to pass herself off as a Cherokee in order to get a job at Harvard. Kamala Harris, a woman who slept her way to the top in California politics. Bernie Sanders, a septuagenarian communist who looks and sounds like Larry David’s stunt double from “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Pete Buttigieg? I won’t even bother. And on and on and on. The candidates who might actually have something to offer like Michael Bloomberg aren’t running because they sense that President Trump is very likely to get re-elected without much effort. Bloomberg is probably waiting for 2024 to see if a better opportunity presents itself.

And it’s not just the abnormality of the candidates that strikes you. It’s the fact that weirdness is actually their greatest selling point. Bernie is popular because he is a communist. Mayor Pete is popular because he’s married to a man. Booker is exciting because he’ll say outlandish things that even he’s not sure make any sense. Kamala wants to turn the United States in California, the first “Third World State” in the Union.

But in handicapping this race I think you have to assume that the weirdo pageant is really a selection process for the VP sweepstakes. Whichever of the wackos produces the most excitement and brings the largest constituency of unlikely voters to the Democratic ticket will end up as running mate to either Creepy Uncle Joe or Crazy Uncle Bernie. Because when push comes to shove, they’ll put an old white guy at the head of the ticket to try and give some semblance of normality to their platform. The Obama experiment opened up a lot of eyes about just “who they are” on the Left. Now in order to drag any middle-class men at all to the Democrat side they have to flee from the fringe when the general election starts. But if they can tack on a woman or a minority or a homosexual on as running mate, they hope it will energize enough of their own base to put them over the top.

My guess is it will be the Creepy Uncle Joe/Fauxcahontas ticket. And that is just marginally more likely than Kamala Harris or Corey Booker in the second spot. But I’m pretty sure Biden will be their candidate. He checks all the boxes. His link to Obama and his folksy regular guy act is pretty close to what the Democrats think will appeal to both black voters and working-class white men. Fauxcahontas is the best lure for suburban white women. So that’s the ticket I think we’ll see.

Wow. That’s some “dream team.” I suspect President Trump will pummel them mercilessly in the general election and on Twitter (unless he’s banned by that outlet). It should be a very entertaining primary and general election season. Stay tuned to see if my prognostication is accurate.

What a Difference Two Years Makes

No objective observer could possibly say that the world has become less chaotic. The news is steeped in a constant bath of leftist rage and character assassination directed at President Trump and everyone in his administration. Every day we hear that the House of Representatives is howling for Speaker Pelosi to begin impeachment proceedings. CNN, despite their abysmal viewership ratings, continues on with the imbecilic droning of accusations against the President and calls for a do-over on the Mueller investigation. The myriad of Democratic candidates for the 2020 presidential primary have been howling and gibbering against the President like some collection of minor squid dragons, mushroom lobsters and frogmen out of a second-rate H. P. Lovecraft story. The headlines from the New York Times and Washington Post scream about obstruction of injustice and trumpet the low approval ratings of the President.

But if you carefully compare the underlying situation now and back in 2017 a clear distinction appears.

In 2017 Jeff Sessions was the Attorney General and based on fake evidence he allowed the corrupt Justice Department to appoint Robert Mueller as Witch-Hunter in Chief and unleashed a two-year drum beat of prosecutions and false rumors of collusion.

In 2019 William Barr is Attorney General and he doesn’t give a damn about fake evidence. In fact, he’s investigating the fake evidence and appears determined to prosecute those that used the fake evidence. Now the rumors are the ones filling the nightmares of Comey, Brennan and Clapper as they squirm to blame each other for their crimes.

In 2017 the economy had a growth rate of about 1% and the unemployment rate was in double digits. Manufacturing jobs were as rare as unicorns and government managing the middle-class decline was the consensus opinion of the Cloud People.

In 2019 the economy is roaring along at around 3% growth rate and unemployment is only for those who just plain don’t want to work. President Trump has used tariffs and the threat of tariffs to level the playing field for American business and workers. Manufacturing has rebounded and there is the hope of even greater concessions from China.

In 2017 even the Republicans in Congress refused to even consider immigration reform and the Wall was an abomination that Speaker Ryan wouldn’t even discuss.

In 2019 President Trump has used executive orders and an emergency declaration on the southern border to allocate funds to start building the Wall. And now the President has finally declared that he will begin the deportations of the millions of illegal aliens already in the country.

In 2017 Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham cravenly refused to back the President’s agenda out of calculation that he wouldn’t last out the year under the Mueller investigation.

In 2019 McConnell and Graham are charter members of the Trump fan club. Now granted, McConnell will still quail if he thinks something will anger his corporate paymasters but he has certainly done the right thing for the Supreme Court and other judicial appointments. And the President’s popularity is the reason. These curs follow the alpha wolf.

In 2017 Bill Kristol and Jonah Goldberg at the Weekly Standard and the National Review respectively were Republican opinion leaders. These NeverTrumpers spent gallons of digital ink mocking the President and predicting his failure and eventual demise.

In 2019 the Weekly Standard is gone and Jonah Goldberg is leaving the National Review to continue his anti-Trump career at some new start-up that has found Left Wing funding. And the NeverTrumpers have reached such heights of lunacy that they are now indistinguishable from Leftists (e.g., Max Boot). And most of the NeverTrumpers have returned to the fold and now sing President Trump’s praises as if they were always with him.

In 2017 the newspapers, television stations and the leading internet pundits attacked President Trump with accusations of collusion and predicted impeachment was around the corner. And the public believed them.

In 2019 it isn’t even necessary any longer for the President to say “fake news.” We say it for him and more importantly, even the Left knows it’s true. They know that the collusion was on their side of the fence and William Barr is coming for them. If the pollsters tell us that President Trump is losing to Creepy Uncle Joe Biden or Granny Warren, we can just look at Biden giving a rally in front of a crowd of less than a hundred bored ringers while the President hosts a gathering of over a hundred thousand cheering fans. Do we have to even bother saying the poll is fake?

So, to sum it up, the only thing that hasn’t changed is the Left’s tactic. Attack, attack, attack. But the result has changed. We don’t believe them anymore, we’re not afraid of them and President Trump’s accomplishments now speak for themselves.

When President Trump wins the 2020 election in a landslide, I think we’ll finally see even the likes of CNN throw in the towel and try something new. Maybe even the truth? Doubtful, but miracles can happen.

This is a short article but it specifies the actual steps already being taken by Mexico.

The Mexican government on Wednesday arrested 350 Central Americans, including two prominent “migrant rights” activists, who were part of a large group headed toward the United States. Mexico is also planning to deploy an additional 6,000 national guard troops to its border with Guatemala.

It gets better.

The day after those activists were arrested, the Mexican Finance Ministry froze the bank accounts of 26 individuals for their alleged involvement in facilitating migrant caravans to the United States from Central America.

Sounds like the real deal and not just lip service. President Trump’s threat of tariffs is brilliant indeed. When he said Mexico would build the wall this is how he meant it. Leverage.

Of course, you always have to add, check back in a couple of weeks and see if it sticks but it’s definitely a winning strategy to use financial leverage to tame your enemies.

What makes President Trump so effective? It’s actually two things together.

He knows how the game has been played.
He’s not afraid of the players.

Let me elaborate

Donald Trump has looked behind the curtain and he knows the wizard is a fraud. He has spent his life dealing at first hand with the frauds and thieves who run the government in places like New York City and he knows that they’re corrupt and he knows they’re vulnerable. The Democrats have used their identity politics so successfully for so long because the Republicans will accommodate almost any compromise so long as their personal privileges are maintained. Both sides have abandoned the middle classes in exchange for Wall Street money and an identity politics charade in which each side plays its assigned part. The Left stokes the resentment of minorities and women and the Establishment Right mouths its platitudes about the Constitution and promises its constituency that half a loaf is better than nothing and someday the new Americans will see the light and forsake the Democrats.

Donald Trump could see from a mile off that JEB! and the rest of the Kabuki Theater crew were setting up to hand Hillary a rather easy win and he decided to pull the curtain aside and let the people see the truth about the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz, that he was a fraud. He showed us that everything they said was a lie and the only missing ingredient needed for winning was wanting to win.

And even when the Deep State has thrown literally everything including the kitchen sink at President Trump and his supporters, he is inexorably pushing them back in every direction he has applied force.

He forced the spineless Republican Congress to provide a tax cut and incentives for business to move back to the United States and in return the economy has come roaring back.
He resisted the bait to involve the United States in any major military adventures overseas and in return places like North Korea have begun to talk about peace.
He threatens NAFTA and China with tariffs and in return negotiations start to become the path forward.
He tells Mexico that endless immigrants on our southern border will be the end of their free trade gravy train and in return the Mexican president agrees to stanch the flow of Guatemalans.
He hires William Barr to be his Attorney General and in return Mueller folds his tent and Comey and company are quaking in their boots about the expected indictments that are just around the corner.2. When Donald Trump was a businessman negotiating with the government and the power brokers that call the shots, he found out that they are petty and mostly not that smart. He realized that if someone was willing to expose both sides of the scam, Democrat and Republican, then the people would see something worth voting for.

Now this is not a risk-free enterprise. People like the Clintons have made the politics of personal destruction a veritable art form. When you add in the operatives that Obama and Hillary staffed the Justice Department with you are talking about a recipe for high powered railroading of anyone standing in their way. Just look at the victims of the Mueller investigation, some of them were men whose only crime was agreeing to talk to the FBI without a lawyer present.

But President Trump has demonstrated that he knows how to navigate the swamp and now it looks like he has come out on the other side of this cesspool and is positioned to give them a taste of their own medicine.

Being capable of successfully confronting the coordinated offensive of the Media, the Democrat Congress and the Deep State is almost unprecedented. Nixon was forced to resign. The Bushes were chewed up until by the end of their tenures there was nothing left of either. And they were career politicians. Trump can do it because he’s not afraid of them. In fact, he enjoys punching back. His ability to get his message out and draw blood from his adversaries is his trademark. Low Energy Jeb and Crooked Hillary and Nervous Nancy. He always draws blood and he keeps on jabbing until he’s made his point.

And that’s the secret of President Trump’s success. Not only does he know his enemies’ weaknesses but he’s not afraid to go after them and make them afraid of him. And this is only the beginning. Once the Comeys and Brennans start to cut deals to get leniency we will see some bigger fish get fried. I’m of the opinion that by 2024 he’ll have retired or imprisoned most of the current big names in Democrat politics. Who knows, could Hillary be on that list?

So that’s what I think is the formula responsible for the political jiu-jitsu he does so well. He knows their tricks and he’s not afraid to mix it up with them. The other Republicans lack part or all of this combination. The knowledge and the courage. Let’s be thankful he came along. Let’s hope he trains his successor. We can’t afford any more Bushes.

Can Pence Succeed Trump?

No one can replace Donald Trump. He is unique. Of the seven billion plus humans inhabiting planet Earth there couldn’t be another even close to his experiences, personality and skills. His quirks and his abilities are completely idiosyncratic. But he will also someday be term limited from serving as President of the United States. So, it is necessary to consider who could succeed Donald J. Trump as president.

Mike Pence would be the conventional choice. The Vice President of a successful President should have a leg up. But Al Gore and Richard Nixon could disagree. Assuming President Trump continues to preside over a healthy economy chances are Mike Pence would have at least an even chance at winning. But is Mike Pence the man for the job?

In terms of personality and background it would be hard to imagine a starker contrast than Trump and Pence.

If you read Mike’s bio, he checks all the boxes for a social conservative. He’s pro-life, religious, family values, defense of marriage. He signed a bill as governor of Indiana to protect religious business owners from anti-discrimination law suits by homosexuals. But he immediately signed an amended version that gutted it when the Media, some big businesses and progressive advocacy groups coordinated their public attacks and threatened to boycott Indiana. And this latter incident is the troubling sticking point. Does Pence have the guts to stick to his guns and defy the progressive coalition?

Now, there are some mitigating circumstances that are in his favor. Being the Governor of Indiana during the Obama presidency doesn’t have the privileges that being President of the United States has. You can imagine the pressure being brought to bear by business leaders as negative publicity swirled around Indiana during the blitzkrieg that the Media created. And I’m sure the US Attorney General’s office was probably on the phone threatening him too. But however, you slice it, the optics were hardly Trumpian.

It is fair to ask if Mike Pence may have learned something in the last three years of working with Donald Trump that improves his case. I would have to say yes. It seems highly unlikely that working in close proximity to President Trump hasn’t provided very valuable object lessons in how to triage the almost unending series of crises, both actual and media-fabricated that have confronted the White House since January of 2017. By the end of President Trump’s second term, I would imagine even Mike Pence will have added a certain understated swagger to his manner when dealing with the media and other pests. Undoubtedly, he’ll never be able to launch a vindictive tweet at Chuck Schumer or bark out a fake news sound bite the way The Donald can but I don’t doubt he’ll manage to make his points without collapsing into spineless acquiescence to the likes of Stephanopoulos.

Now this doesn’t answer the other important question. Is Mike Pence the best choice for Trump’s successor? Frankly, I doubt that. I think the best man for the job will be another independent businessman or possibly an extraordinary military leader (of course my favorite choice is always me but we’ll leave that for another day). But for this essay let’s restrict ourselves to whether Mike Pence could carry on the good work being done by President Trump. I will give Pence grudging approval and say that based on his strengths, weaknesses and opportunities to grow as Trump’s right-hand man he probably could do it.

One last safeguard for Pence is that if President Trump doesn’t honestly think Pence is the right man to succeed him, he has two chances to correct the problem. He can choose a different running mate for 2020 and in 2024 if he suddenly objects to Pence, he can recommend someone else for the job.

So, let’s say I give Mike Pence a wavering one thumb up. Here’s hoping he comes into his own in the second term.
