It’s Unanimous, Biden is an Idiot

Yesterday I read a bunch of articles by both the Left, and the Right.  And they both agree that Biden is a gibbering idiot and a menace to the survival of the world.  All I can say to that is … duh!  But for me all it reveals is the Left’s inherent cowardice.  There is no greater disaster than their own deaths.  So, when they contemplate a bumbling into nuclear war, they immediately see their own deaths in the almost certain targeting of Washington D.C. by Russian ICBMs.  Well, at least something got their attention.

And the rest of the world is starting to understand just how truly enfeebled the President of the United States is.  He reads answers to pre-screened questions off cue cards he holds in his hands.  He fumbles half the words he says and looses the thread of his arguments if he says more than a few sentences.  Everyone always knew he was a liar but now he’s become an incompetent one.

Importantly, as the leaders of the European Union start to understand just how hopeless he is they’ll have to reconsider whether to follow this man down the path he is laying out.  Russia provides them with the majority of their energy.  What if Russia shuts the spigot?  Will Joe Biden magically provide them with oil and gas?  When the price of wheat skyrockets will Joe Biden sell them discount bread?  When the price of fertilizer goes up an order of magnitude will Joe Biden produce any other fertilizer than the bs he spouts?

We may be entering a new era.  Biden’s incompetence and disastrous policies are tanking the US economy and the Democrats’ midterm prospects monumentally.  If things continue on the road we’re on things may get beyond uncomfortable.  They may become disastrous.  What I wonder about is whether the puppeteers controlling Biden will consider reversing course and attempt to save the country from a new depression.

I tend to doubt it.  I think they prefer harming Americans, especially the working class.  But this time it may extend a lot higher than the working class.  I think there is a real chance the middle-class may essentially disappear.  We don’t manufacture much anymore.  And with the new efficiencies that AI provides I can see the overlords dismissing most of their white-collar minions in order to save on the salaries they represent.  When the lower echelons of Ivy League graduates can’t find cozy sinecures any longer we’ll know we’ve reached the end of the line for the middle class.  We’ll be Mexico or Brazil.

I can’t claim to have any accurate insight about what’s about to transpire.  I tend to think no one does.  Things are a lot dicier than they’ve been in a very long time.  And the people running the country are significantly stupider and more awful than their predecessors.  Compared to Joe Biden, Bill Clinton is Pericles.  Compared to Kamala Harris, Al Gore is Einstein.

But it does seem to me that we’ve reached a point where we’ll have to make changes.  We can’t go on this way.  And that sounds good but then I always return to the fact that our side is Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy.  We need honest and smart men to make the changes but even more than that we need brave men.  And instead, we have greedy, cowardly fools.

Well, roll the dice.

DeSantis Signs the Young Schoolchildren Anti-Grooming Law

What the Left calls the “Don’t Say Gay” Bill is now law in Florida.  DeSantis makes a very eloquent statement about why this bill is needed.  And he accuses the Left of supporting the sexualization of kindergarten children and he says he doesn’t care what they think of him saying it.  He’s standing up for the rights of parents to control the things taught to their children and to restrain activists from trying to recruit their kids into sexual madness.

This guy hits all the right notes.  Someday he will be President.  If not in 2024 then in 2028.

Johnny Eager (1941) – An OCF Classic Movie Review

Johnny Eager is a gangster melodrama starring Robert Taylor as the eponymous Eager and Lana Turner as his femme fatale, Lisbeth Bard.  Van Heflin plays Jeff Hartnett, Johnny’s alcoholic and intellectual side kick.  And to round out the major players Edward Arnold is John Farrell, a prosecutor and Lisbeth’s step-father.

(Spoiler Alert – Skip down to last paragraph to avoid spoilers and read recommendation)

When we first meet Johnny, he is cab driver arriving at his parole officer’s office to report on his reformed life.  Johnny was sent to prison for a laundry list of crimes associated with his status as a crime boss.  There he meets Lisbeth as a student studying criminology or sociology or some such nonsense.  After Johnny leaves the office, he heads to a dog track where supposedly his boss works.  But what we discover is that the cab is just a front and Johnny is still a crime boss.  He’s working to get his dog track licensed and up and running so that he can start bringing in millions in legal betting.

By a strange set of circumstances Lisbeth ends up seeing through his disguise and starts a romance with her new criminal boyfriend.  While the romance is blossoming, we also get to see Johnny’s business style.  He portrays a likeable persona to his gang members and even the general public but when anyone crosses him, even old friends, he exhibits complete ruthlessness.  And it’s during these moments that Jeff acts as a mocking but honest mirror for Johnny to know his own evil.

As the central device of the story, Johnny decides to use Lisbeth’s love for him to force John Farrell to allow his dog track to open.  Johnny sets up a phony attack on himself by one of his thugs and during the fight Lisbeth tries to save Johnny from being knifed by picking up a gun and shooting the thug.  Johnny convinces her that she has killed the man.  Actually, the gun was loaded with blanks.  Lisbeth is devastated to think she has killed a man and stops eating and sleeping.  Johnny takes advantage of the situation to blackmail Farrell into licensing the dog track.

But when Johnny realizes that he has destroyed Lisbeth’s life he decides to do the right thing.  He proves to Lisbeth that the man she thinks she’s killed is alive and further he pushes Lisbeth into the arms of her old boyfriend who has been trying to save her from Johnny.

And of course, all the machinations he performs to prove that the thug is still alive ends up sparking a gun battle between Johnny and his evil associates.  The movie ends with Johnny killing his enemies but also being shot up by them and then finished off by a policeman coming on the scene.

This not a great movie.  This is not even a great gangster movie.  But it is entertaining.  And that is almost entirely based on Robert Taylor’s performance.  He provides an engaging personality as the likeable devil.  We know that Johnny is evil but he is smart, charming and most of the evil he does is directed at other denizens of the underworld.  In a way, the worst part of the movie is his final conversion to a caring human being. In its day the critics enjoyed Van Heflin’s character for his witty irony.  I thought he was annoying.  I’ll recommend this movie to fans of 1940’s gangster movies who don’t mind a heavy handed “crime doesn’t pay” message at the end.

The Oscars Become a Commercial

I heard this morning that at the Oscars last night Will Smith slapped Chris Rock in the face for making a joke about Smith’s wife’s hair problems (apparently she’s going bald).  I watched the clip of the incident.  The two entertainers cuss a bit and seem upset.  You know I have a very hard time believing it wasn’t staged.   So little about the world nowadays isn’t fake that I have to assume everything about Hollywood is fake.

It’s not that I couldn’t imagine that a man would react with anger over his wife being the subject of public ridicule.  But Will Smith was probably the strong favorite to win the best actor’s award in a film that featured the theme of a strong man empowering his daughters.  This kind of an event at the awards ceremony sounds like just the kind of publicity stunt that Hollywood would come up with to generate box office for their property.

Who knows, maybe I’m wrong.  But at this point I think most of the country is in the same boat I’m in.  We’ve lost all belief in the tainted institutions like Hollywood and we’ve lost all interest in supporting their products and programs.

Sure, it’s possible Hollywood could make a movie I’d watch.  But it’s now on a case by case basis and I’ll have to have the evidence of someone I trust to tell me something is worth plunking down hard earned cash to see.  I have nothing in particular against the Williams sisters or their family or Will Smith.  But if it isn’t something that specifically aligns with the things I stand for then it’s just one more thing I don’t have the time or money to support.

When they make a movie that portrays Kyle Rittenhouse as the hero, I’ll go see that.  When they make a comedy that’s actually funny, I’ll go see that.  Until then I’ll stick to the classics.

Hunter Biden and Bioweapons Labs in Ukraine?

After reading this article in the New York Post nothing can seem improbable any more.  So between bouts of smoking crack cocaine and indulging in demented sex with state funded prostitutes Hunter Biden managed to find the time to find funding for US bioweapons labs and hook them up with his friends at Burisma, the Ukrainian petroleum corporation.

This story which the Russians are trumpeting is corroborated in the e-mails found on the infamous Hunter Biden laptop.  You know, if nothing comes of these revelations then there truly is no hope for this country.  If our citizenry is so brain dead that they aren’t outraged to the point of revolt by these revelations then there’s no reason to think they ever will.

Our government is run by crooks.  And they’re not even smart crooks.  They’re caricatures of stupid gangsters.  But if we permit all of this then we’re an order of magnitude more stupid.  Words fail me.  Bring on the deluge.

Joe Biden Calls for Regime Change in Russia

Vladimir Putin is a ruthless war-mongering autocrat.  He is feared and loathed by millions.  But somehow Joe Biden manages to expose one of Putin’s positive traits.  Unlike Joe Biden he is not a pathologically lying weasel.  He means what he says.  And after listening for the last year to nothing but pathetic lies from Dementia Joe and his lackeys about every aspect of the train wreck that is Joe Biden’s America it’s almost refreshing to hear a dictator openly say that he is going to do something awful and frightening without pretending it’s something else.

Tonight, Biden gave a speech in Warsaw, Poland.  At the end he did one of his little play-acting riffs where he pretends to get angry and emotional and said, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”  Well, beside the fact that it seems very unlikely that Joe Biden has any concern for God, I don’t see how Biden gassing off about Putin falling from power does the least good for the Ukrainians, the Poles or anyone else.

Then there are the hypocrisies.  Earlier in the speech he says, “A dictator bent on rebuilding an empire will never erase a people’s love for liberty.   Brutality will never grind down their will to be free.”  So, if this is true why are the Uighurs being ground down by their Chinese rulers and why is Joe Biden unwilling to help them or even call the Chinese out for this much greater brutality?  The answer of course is that Joe Biden makes a lot of money working with the Chinese government and the last thing he wants to do is anger his benefactors.  Alternatively, Joe Biden also makes a lot of money working with the Ukraine government and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine threatens that arrangement.  Therefore, he can separate good brutality from bad brutality.  The difference is good for Joe Biden and bad for Joe Biden.

So, let’s look at his fiery statement, “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power.”  That sounds a lot like a statement I made a few weeks ago when I said, “How are we going to survive with this man as president for three more years?   The words are slightly different but the underlying thought is that some intolerable outrage cannot continue.

And since we are Americans and the welfare of America is the proper subject for the people and the government of America to occupy itself with, I consider my statement more important to Americans than Biden’s concern for the fate of a corrupt kleptocracy in the Russian sphere of influence.

Russia doesn’t want the CIA concocting color revolutions in its back yard.  It would be like Russia fomenting a revolution to install an anti-American regime in Mexico and then placing ICBMs there.  We wouldn’t stand for it.  We’d bring the full force of the US military to bear against this regime and topple it.

Russia has seen the same thing happen along its border in the former Warsaw Pact countries of Poland and Romania and then the former Soviet republics of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.  Apparently, the Ukraine was the last straw.

The historical importance of the Ukraine in the Russian sense of nationality is great.  It’s even worse than my analogy with Mexico.  It would be more like if New England had been pried away from America and now the Chinese were making a deal to place missiles in Massachusetts.

But Biden is dishonest even in his lies.  He doesn’t intend to attack Russia head on.  He is wagging the dog to distract the American people from $5/gallon gasoline and $5/lb. hamburger meat.  He needs something to help Americans forget that he tried to bury us under vaccine mandates and that he has fanned inflation until it threatens to bankrupt our nation.

So, Joe Biden is calling for regime change in Russia.  What we really need is regime change in America.  The question is can we survive until it is complete in 2025.
