Anarcho-Tyranny in the Spotlight

As I’ve mentioned many times in the past, I may not agree with all of the conclusions that the dissident right draw but without a doubt many of the observations and inferences they make about the world around us are completely correct.  For instance:

Sam Francis (April 29, 1947 – February 15, 2005) was a paleoconservative whose views would put him solidly amongst the dissident right today.  He coined the term anarcho-tyranny which refers to armed dictatorship without rule of law, or a Hegelian synthesis when the state tyrannically or oppressively regulates citizens’ lives yet is unable or unwilling to enforce fundamental protective law.  Commentators have invoked the term in reference to situations when governments focus on weapon confiscation instead of stopping looters.

This concept has been discussed very often on the ZMan’s site and it seems transparently clear that the current federal government and many state and local governments use this policy to punish some of their constituencies and reward others.  Essentially it sets up two separate systems of law.

In the recent past there are many examples of this concept in operation.  And in fact, it is the hallmark of the post George Floyd policing and prosecution strategies in most American cities.  Basically, blacks can commit an assortment of violent and non-violent offenses with impunity.  While if white people attempt to resist these crimes, they will be prosecuted with extreme severity.  The most well-known case was Kyle Rittenhouse who defended himself from Antifa attackers in Kenosha WI.  He was charged with murder but miraculously was exonerated in court.

I’ll give a few other examples.

I guess the general case would be to compare the government’s treatment of two groups.  The groups that were given preferential treatment would be the BLM and Antifa rioters during the 2020 riots.  These people were allowed to riot, loot and commit arson and even murder without the police or FBI using their considerable powers and capabilities to either stop it or arrest the perpetrators.  For weeks and across most of the large cities in the United States a reign of terror was permitted and in some cases like Minneapolis encouraged by government officials.

The contrasting group would be the January Sixth protestors.  For what amounts to peaceful trespass these United States citizens have been denied due process, imprisoned in some cases for years without trial and tried in kangaroo courts with sentences sometimes measured in decades of prison time.

Now if we were to look at specific cases, I think the case of subway good Samaritan Daniel Penny and the homeless lunatic he subdued is a perfect example.  Penny was on a subway car when a deranged homeless man named Jordan Neely began threatening random women passengers because they wouldn’t give him the money he demanded.  He went so far to make death threats.  Penny restrained Neely in a chokehold and unfortunately Neely died from this action.  Penny is a marine veteran and white, Neely was black and a homeless mental patient who had been arrested 42 times and punched a 62-year-old woman in the eye, and broke her eye socket.

So here we have anarcho-tyranny incarnate.  Jordan Neely was a creation of a system that would not arrest a black man who had broken the law over forty times.  They just released him to continue creating fear and hurting innocent people.  And when a white man protects the public from this menace he is charged with murder when what he was doing was defending himself and the weaker individuals being harassed by Neely.  He tried to do the job the prosecutors refused to do.

And so, this individual case showcases the intended effect of this anarcho-tyranny.  The law will defend those it favors who break the law and at the same time will force those it dislikes to suffer the crimes being allowed without even the chance for self-defense.  They just have to suffer and take it.  Or be sent to prison where even more of their humanity will be stripped away.

The dissident right gets a lot of things right.

I guess it was inevitable.  He is a shaman so no avenue should be closed to his healing powers.  I’ve always wondered how someone becomes a shaman.  Is there a course?  Do you have to pay a licensing fee?

I will say he’s an improvement over 90% of the congress-critters out there.  But I just wonder if he’ll wear the horns on the floor of the Capitol building.  And will Nancy Pelosi let bygones be bygones?  I heard she was pretty upset by the buffalo chips she found in her shoe closet.

Revenge Term

I was reading an article in the Guardian (I know, I know) called “A revenge term: what would another four years of Trump look like?”  It contained such lines as,

  • “I think it would be the end of our country as we know it,” Hillary Clinton, who lost to Trump in 2016, said on the ABC talk show The View this week. “And I don’t say that lightly.”
  • “Allan Lichtman, a history professor at American University in Washington, said: “It would be a disaster for America. He’s already made it very clear that his second term is going to be a revenge term. He’s going to use the power of government to persecute and prosecute his enemies and to cement his own power, or at least the power of his allies and cronies.”

It really was a great read.  All the talk of revenge and firing the Deep State was wonderfully exciting.  And it was just funny that they can’t see that revenge is exactly what the Justice Department has been engaged in for the last three years.

But then I knew I had to get back to the real world.  Well, sort of.  After another meaningless Republican debate, Senator Tim Scott has ended his campaign.  That makes sense, I guess.  I don’t think he ever got higher than 4%.  The amusing part of the primary is how excited the establishment types at Fox News get about Nikki Haley, “She’s surging in the polls.”  What, from 3% to 6%?  And they talk about how well she’d run against Joe Biden.  They’ve got to be kidding.  If Nikki Haley is the Republican candidate none of Trump’s 60% will even bother to show up to vote.  Haley may be a Republican.  In fact, she’s a Jeb Bush Republican.  But conservative she is not.  And to be fair America already had a chance to vote for that kind of Republican in 2008 and 2012 with John McCain and Mitt Romney.  But eight years of George W Bush back at the turn of the century showed us why RINOs aren’t a good idea.

But they’ll keep pushing her as if it’s some kind of brilliant idea, “She’s a woman!  She’s non-white!  She loves abortion!  We’ll get the woman and black vote, right?”  Ah, if only she were a lesbian, then they’d have the trifecta.  Well, half a loaf, right?

But I think the Republican debate thing is just about played out.  Ramaswamy is doing the Trump act, and give him his due, a lot of what he says is true but let’s face it.  He’s not going to be Trump’s VP.  I did hear that talk that Tucker Carlson would make a good VP pick.  And maybe he would.  Not that I think he’d accept.  I think he’s smart enough to know that his life would become much less fun if he became Vice President.  But in terms of who would be preferable I think that would be Ron DeSantis and from what I can tell Trump can’t stand him.  Hopefully this time Trump picks someone more courageous that that empty suit Pence.

Well, I won’t belabor the current situation in the 2024 race.  This is a check-in.  We’ve got a whole year for Joe Biden to fall below 25% in the polls.  No need to rush it now.  We can savor it later.  “Revenge term,” I like the sound of it.

Off the Cuff

Writing a daily post is a daunting task.  I’ve been writing this blog for over five years.  Granted these have been very unusual even unique times with strange things happening quite often.  Things like a national pandemic lockdown and nationwide, FBI approved race riots and looting.  Things like these give you a lot to think and write about.  And a politician like Donald Trump and the response of the administrative state to him is pretty unique.  Granted there are similarities to what happened to Richard Nixon but the reaction to Trump is orders of magnitude more violent and nakedly partisan.

All that being said eventually you run out of ways to say the same things differently.

Eventually what you find yourself writing is almost a stream of consciousness of what you are thinking as you experience the world around you.  And the trick is to make what you write relatable enough and interesting enough that other people will find it worthwhile to read.

Well, that’s a tall order.  How many times can you say that Joe Biden is a lying, thieving, senile shell of a hack politician?  Everybody in both parties knows it.  Even the people who vote for him, even the people who work for him don’t mistake him for an honest man or a talented individual.  They know he’s a hack who hung on long enough for the crooked party he works for to punch his ticket one last time.  It’s been said too many times to be interesting.

And likewise for discussions of Congress, the administrative state, the woke corporate world, the fake news media and on and on.  It has all been said.

So, what I’ll do from now on is talk about whatever pops into my head.  Maybe a news story will interest me.  Something about crime or something about reform.  Maybe it’ll be a piece of bad news or good news.  I’ll say what it makes me think or feel.  I’ll just look at the world as if it were the viewfinder of my camera and if I think it’s an interesting composition, I’ll snap the picture.  And just like trying to take a different picture every day is damn difficult so will telling a different story every day.  But every picture is slightly different.  And so, finding a new story is always possible too.

The thing that I was thinking about today was the Anti-Israel demonstrations and the reaction of Jewish Americans.  Bari Weiss had an essay about DEI and the current state of progressive politics.

She was and is a progressive.  But she has seen the radicalization of the Democratic party and this has had an effect on her.  It has frightened her into seeing where all the progressive programs that she formerly supported have led.  And so, she renounces what she thinks of as the overreach of progressivism; wokeism.

“It is time to end DEI for good. No more standing by as people are encouraged to segregate themselves. No more forced declarations that you will prioritize identity over excellence. No more compelled speech. No more going along with little lies for the sake of being polite.”

But the problem is how do you do that if you still keep voting for Joe Biden instead of Donald Trump?  And she (and the people in her comments section) have no answer to this.  Now this is not to say that all Jewish Americans vote Democrat.  I personally have Jewish friends who vote Trump and are conservative in general.  But Jewish progressives and progressives in general who are shocked by the support for Hamas will not be motivated by their shock to vote Republican.  They will look for a Democrat who will rescue them from Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib.  But they won’t find one.  Just look at the White House’s answer to questions about antisemitic attacks and threats over the last few weeks.  Karine Jean-Pierre’s answer was that the administration was aware of the high numbers of Islamophobic incidents that had occurred recently.  In other words, in the intersectionality calculus Muslim public opinion was more important than Jewish public opinion.  No one would do anything to stop the demonstrations and acts of violence.  Basically, their importance isn’t high enough to protect them from the group with higher intersectional value.  And Weiss addresses this:

“People were to be given authority in this new order not in recognition of their gifts, hard work, accomplishments, or contributions to society, but in inverse proportion to the disadvantages their group had suffered, as defined by radical ideologues. According to them, as James Kirchick concisely put it: “Muslim > gay, black > female, and everybody > the Jews.””

And the impact of this hierarchy has been on display with anger over these inequalities in several groups in the leftist coalition.  Women and even lesbians are angry over the privileges “trans-women” receive in being considered actual women.  They get to compete in women’s sports where they have unbeatable physical advantages over actual girls and women.  And they demand that lesbians accept them as sexual partners regardless of the fact that they possess male genitalia.  Inner city black and Hispanic poor are outraged that illegal aliens are provided with housing and benefits that take away resources from them.  Asians are being discriminated against in education on account of their academic discipline and aptitude.  And finally white women are finding themselves treated almost as badly as white men because of their “whiteness.”

So, all of these groups are suddenly waking up to the unfairness of the woke agenda.  But guess what?  They won’t be voting for Donald Trump.  It will take tremendous dislocation and pain brought about by the Democratic agenda to finally get any of these people to vote out the Democrats.

They hate Donald Trump viscerally.  He “irks” them.  Just seeing his face makes them angry.  When they get into the voting booth their programming will kick in and Joe Biden will get their vote.  Because of that we are all going to have to suffer a whole bunch more before any of this will end.  Strap in.  It’s going to be a bumpy ride.
