In addition to the other benefits we get from a Trump presidency he is working to defang all of the regulatory tools that Obama inflicted on us during his regime. Among those disparate impact is one of the most noxious.

13FEB2019 – American Greatness Post of the Day – Conrad Black’s The Democrats’ French Dilemma
Conrad Black is a good friend of President Trump. And he is a very upbeat prognosticator of of our troubled times. But this little historical expedition to the French Revolution and de Gaulle’s 1968 power play are amusing and give an interesting comparison to the madness of the lunatic fringe of the Democrat party. Of course that fringe now encompasses the whole party so it’s an unusual situation. Fun to read.

I always considered Finney an enjoyable actor to watch, always fun. Miller’s Crossing and The Dresser are the two roles I liked him in best. He was also good in Scrooge and Annie (both musical comedies which I rarely can enjoy). Rest in Peace.

Z-Man provides a good primer on the Paleocons. Very interesting. And I heard him use one of my favorite of his expressions “Never Trump Clown Car.”

Vox Day Has a Comment on the SOTU
Now Vox is a big Trump supporter but in his opinion the civic nationalism from someone like Trump won’t be enough to save the United States. But he acknowledges the effectiveness of what Trump did last night to consolidate the Republican base and kick the stool out from under the NeverTrumpers. I get bored by rhetoric so I shut it off after about fifteen minutes. But I acknowledge the necessity of talking to the whole country. I just hope he takes concrete action soon to get his agenda going in the face of total opposition from the the Dems.

Apparently, the combination of the federal tax limit of $10,000 deduction of state income tax and the confiscatory upper tax level brackets have the rich and well off heading for the New York borders. And now the tax revenues are off by several billion dollars. What a surprise!

The Latest Twist in the Culture Wars
So all is not rainbows and unicorns over among the LGBTQ crowd. Apparently the L would prefer it to be LGBQ and the T may end up demanding it be GBTQ.

A growing number of lesbians say that transgenderism is actually a men’s rights movement and it is threatening the very existence of lesbians. Apparently lesbians feel that men claiming to be trans-women are coercing lesbians into having sex with them even though anatomically these individuals are male. Also they fear that young lesbians will be diagnosed as trans and forced to become trans-men. Various lesbians are being ejected from the movement for hate speech and badness.
The world just keeps getting weirder and weirder. How do you pick sides in something like this? Maybe just throw fuel on the fire and hope they can’t sort it out.
