Day 45 of Dementia Joe’s Regime – Interdimensional Crisis Averted

High drama unfolded today in Washington when at around 10 am sirens sounded and helicopter gunships and tactical attack aircraft were seen circling the White House.  Thousands of troops formed a cordon around the White House.  But by noon all military activity had returned to normal.  Strange rumors circulated about the President’s whereabouts and at the afternoon press conference the President was questioned about the incident.

Upon being asked if anything unusual had occurred that morning President Biden replied, “I’m glad you asked that question Sparky, you old dog faced pony soldier, I was preparing for the national defense briefing when I found myself lost in an alternate universe.  Suddenly a door to another dimension opened up and I found my self looking out at the old swimming hole I used to share with my boyhood chums Huck Finn and Corn Pop.  Well, I got ready to go skinny dipping with them when all of a sudden, the interdimensional portal closed on me and I was trapped.  I realized at once that white supremacists had lured me in with a false image.  I struggled mightily and finally I remembered the super-secret Presidential beacon alarm.  I triggered it and I was rescued by a special forces battalion.

Because of the heroic struggle I put up against the white supremacists in hyperspace, the Nobel Foundation will be awarding me both the Peace Prize and the award for physics.  I have requested that instead of the medals being awarded to me by the King of Norway, that Greta Thunberg place the medals around my neck.  Also, I will request that she use Wella Balsam shampoo beforehand.”

After the press conference a slightly different version emerged from unnamed White House sources.

This morning at 10 am President Biden turned up missing for his national security briefing.  When the President’s Life Alert was triggered the secret service agents used the GPS device to triangulate his location.  When the President’s clothes were found on the floor in front of a dumb waiter the worst was feared.  But as best anyone can reconstruct the sequence of events, it appears that the President had wandered down an unfamiliar service corridor near the kitchen and after opening the door of the dumb waiter mistook the small metal box for an interdimensional portal that would allow him to relive his boyhood days at the swimming hole.  After removing his clothes, he wedged himself in the small space but the door closed on him sending him into a panic.  Although the lengthy captivity and cramped posture had resulted in some regrettable excretory mishaps the President was conscious and basically safe.  The female secret service agents were dismissed and Dr Jill was summoned with the object of coaxing the agitated President out of his portal and back into his underwear.  After decontamination of the dumb waiter and the President things returned to normal.

Later on, in the day when the incident was mentioned during the daily press conference Jen Psaki promised to circle back to it but assured the reporters that there was nothing funny about white supremacists marauding through interdimensional space and attempting to kidnap the President of the United States.  The FBI has promised to round up the white supremacists and bring them to justice.  Huck Finn and Corn Pop could not be reached for comment.

Texas Joins Florida in Tackling Social Media Bias and De-Platforming of the Right

Governor Abbott of Texas has joined Governor DeSantis of Florida in calling for state legislation to rein in anti-right bias in the social media platforms.  Let’s hope they coordinate their efforts to enact the same legislation and then share it with the rest of the red states.  I’d love to see these states sue the pants off Google, Facebook and Twitter among others.  While they’re at it they might as well look at what Amazon is doing with banning books.  They’ve got a whole lot of money that could really help a lot of state rainy day funds.  You could build a lot of roads and bridges with what Bezos spends on the Washington Post every year.

So here’s hoping this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship between the red state governors and their legislatures.  May a thousand law suits bloom and bleed the social media companies dry.

If Dr. Seuss is Racist What Isn’t?

If there any people that still think that the newspapers, tv and cable news, schools, universities, tech companies and even the Federal government are going to act honestly about questions of race I hope they get some help right away.  Anyone that stupid should be strapped into a chair and fed by a nurse because he’s obviously too stupid to be trusted even with a spork.

The culture war isn’t a war anymore.  It’s just an exercise in humiliating slaves.  We’re supposed to sit here while the official and unofficial centers of power are allowed to insult everything we hold normal and good in this world.  If sixty years ago you had told John Kennedy that his party would in the same year denigrate and dishonor the names and monuments of Columbus, Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln and even go after a beloved author of children’s books he would have called you a madman.  So would have FDR.  And he was a thorough going progressive.

By any and all measures these people aren’t Americans and they aren’t our countrymen.  They are an occupying army on our soil.  They’ve captured our country and they are doing everything they can to get rid of us and replace us with foreigners whom they can more easily control.

Right now, what they are attempting to do is demoralize us and also spark a small violent reaction that they can crush and then use as an excuse to legislate even more unconstitutional laws to remove our freedoms.  And it is working.  Normal Americans are disgusted and depressed by the endless drum beat of assaults on normalcy and the things that we enjoy in life.  It is discouraging and doubtless there will be some violent reactions to the insults.

But reacting to the Left in a manner that they are prepared to capitalize on is a huge mistake.  Just like the riots and the statue toppling they are waiting for someone to fight back.  And they will pound those people into the ground.  Any resistance to these affronts will have to take place in red states and will need official protection by and approval of the state legislatures and governors.  And even then, there will be federal judges and the Department of Justice attacking the people in charge.  For all I know we are at the point where the Federal government is willing to send combat troops in to force compliance with unconstitutional laws and executive orders.

And we cannot kid ourselves into thinking that the Supreme Court will do a damn thing to prevent these tyrannical laws.  There are at most three justices who take their oaths seriously.  The rest of them just want to keep their lucrative positions and get to posture in front of the legal profession.  No, only the states still in the hands of free Americans have any chance of fighting back against this disgusting evil.

In my darker moments I imagine a red state governor looking to set a trap for the Left in one of his state’s blue cities.  He could wait until the rioting begins and declare martial law but only display the troops at the periphery of the violence.  But have a force in hiding in one of the riot zones and then spring the trap against the most heinous rioters, arsonists and looters.  If done correctly he could use all the available video surveillance evidence to prosecute these people to the fullest extent of the law which could be very severe.

In a less dramatic but just as valuable operation I can imagine the State of Florida following up on their proposed crackdown on internet discrimination against conservatives and sue Google and Facebook and Twitter for many billions of dollars.  It could be a class action suit and all of us could enjoy some of the benefits.  Now that is something I could see happening easily enough.

But both of these routes may be needed to finally begin pushing back against these evil people who are completely committed to making our lives miserable in every way they can.  In the meantime, as I mentioned in yesterday’s post, purchase hard copies of any book, music, movie or television show that you like because sooner or later if it’s good they’ll ban it and it will disappear.  After all, if Dr. Seuss is racist what isn’t?

Finding the Good in Today’s World – Part 1

Going through the news and what passes for entertainment today is a pretty grim process.  It seems it’s woke wreckage and infantilism all the way down.  But if you let the mainstream media and the progressives in New York and Hollywood blind you to what else is out there then you’ve played into their hands.  Admittedly, it is work to “find the good” but it’s not an impossible task.

I’ll confess, I often fall back on complaining about how bad things have gotten and longing for the good old days.  But that doesn’t help anyone.  And in my defense, I do reviews of books, movies, tv shows and country music.  I do get a small but steady search traffic for those things and so I can claim that I do my small part for increasing the knowledge base of people interested in “finding the good.”  But I think it’s a good idea to put together information in an organized form and maybe supplement it with some comments.  After all I am what the idiot children call an “opinion leader” which I guess is a synonym for opinionated jerk.  So here goes.

First things first.  I believe in owning physical copies.  I buy paper books, CDs and DVDs.  I think some of the things I like will be cancelled by the industries that own them and will disappear.  And now we see Disney putting warnings on their old movies and publishers eliminating Dr. Seuss.  Well, okay.  Of course, I’ll need to buy a good supply of DVD players.  But they’re so cheap that it’s reasonable to do.  I’ve got a few hundred DVDs and a few hundred CDs and I used to have thousands of books but I pared that back a good deal and now it’s a few hundred of those.

And owning the physical copies means if I want to watch “The Sting” or read “Huckleberry Finn” I don’t have to search for a streaming service that hasn’t cancelled these works because they use forbidden words or ideas.  That’s enormously powerful.  And convenient.  Most of the streaming services only possess a small fraction of the “good” things you might want to see or hear or read.  Just yesterday I read that the BBC is going back and expurgating the “racist” dialog that they’ve discovered in John Cleese’s “Fawlty Towers” tv show.  John Cleese is a pompous fool who now regrets the thought policing that he and his generation introduced.  But I have the DVDs for that show and if I want to be reminded of when he actually was funny, I can watch them, so-called racism and all!

The next thing that you can use when looking for the good is chronological.  Basically, anything created before 1960 is probably free from systemic cultural poisoning.  Now granted there were plenty of leftists even back then but they had not captured the arts completely.  So, for instance, if you look at the book or movie awards from those years you will note that most of the books and movies are readable or watchable.  There are of course exceptions.  But compare that to the winners of book and movie awards today.  For me an Academy Award from the last decade or so is almost a guarantee that the movie is unwatchable psychobabble or celebrates disgusting sexual deviancy.  Nowadays it takes a review from someone I trust to get me to watch a movie or read a book.

So, I’ve gone on for a page with generalities.  In the next installments of this series, I’ll pick one area and provide some recommendations on things I’ve found that are good.  But just to get the ball rolling I’ll throw out one recommendation.

Modern television show: “Justified

Here is a show that ran from 2010 to 2015 that was based on stories by Elmore Leonard, a truly great crime writer and running to almost eighty episodes and there isn’t a bad episode in the bunch.  That’s pretty rare.  Timothy Olyphant, Nick Searcy and Walton Goggins give highly entertaining and nuanced performances and even a racist, sexist homophobe such as myself will admit that Hollywood didn’t screw this show up somehow.  Camera Girl and I have re-watched this series every few years and we still enjoy every episode.  I hope I never wear out the fun of watching it.
