Vox links to an article in the NY Times. Now I wouldn’t give them the click change so luckily he excerpts a paragraph. Apparently the Left doesn’t like being characterized as robots. Boo-Hoo.

Conrad Black suggests (A New Lady for the United Nations) Ann Coulter for UN Ambassador. I think he’s serious and I think she’d do a good job if she wanted it. But the main point is the comedy of all those exploding heads here and abroad. President Trump should seriously consider it. Nice review of the history of the UN.
But, but, Blue Wave!? Looks like even the worthless denizens of the House may benefit from Kavanaugh’s Carnival in the Senate.
Of course, “Speaker” Ryan is more interested in fund-raising than winning but even that serial loser may be powerless to snatch one last loss out of the jaws of victory. That’s one bright side to all this. We’ll have anew leader in the House soon.
I’ve agreed to a marathon telecom over the election night returns. I’ll also set up a post for the folks here to comment to as the night progresses. Have to remember to buy some good food for the night.
Recently everyone saw the spectacle of Alex Jones being outlawed from YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, Apple Apps, etc., etc., etc. Vox Day posted that Indiegogo has reneged on his recent crowdfunding foray for one of his comic books. Without a doubt our Tech Masters are intent on purging the sinners from their midst. Now this isn’t a surprise especially to Vox who preaches the good word of building our own platforms. But the hardest things to replace are financial institutions. Things like PayPal, Stripe and the various crowdfunding companies are currently irreplaceable for net businesses and they know it. The Trump Administration has made the first rumblings against the Techs for persecuting the Right on-line. But it will probably be a long time before any legal relief is possible. This makes it more important than ever for alternatives to be established. But who has the wherewithal? It’s one thing to open a store on Amazon (which is also a risk to right wing individuals and businesses) but it’s quite another to open a bank. So right now, there’s no good answer for this. Hopefully some of the bigger players on the right side of the aisle will see this as an opportunity and jump in to service an under-served market. That’s right Peter Thiel I’m talking to you.

The NeverTrumpers have seen the light. The blind can see. The Millennium is upon us (again). American Thinker has a nice review of the NeverTrumpers waking up to why President Trump is the antidote to Progressive poison. How sweet it is when the dolts finally see the light of day.
My two favorite quotes in the piece was one from Erick Erickson:
“Congrats progressives. You so overplayed your hand that you
(A) fired up the Republican base;
(B) pissed off Susan Collins; and
(C) Radicalized the newest Justice on the United States Supreme Court.”
And one from Brett Stephens:
“For the first time since Donald Trump entered the political fray, I find myself grateful that he’s in it. I’m reluctant to admit it and astonished to say it[.] …
I’m grateful because Trump has not backed down in the face of the slipperiness, hypocrisy and dangerous standard-setting deployed by opponents of Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. I’m grateful because ferocious and even crass obstinacy has its uses in life, and never more so than in the face of sly moral bullying. I’m grateful because he’s a big fat hammer fending off a razor-sharp dagger.”
If I wasn’t sure they’d back track on this later in the week I’d welcome them back into the right-wing fold. But I know they will so I’ll just take this as a gift from heaven and give them no credit.
But this is a wonderful moment. And every Republican establishment type that pats himself on the back for being a part of it should know very clearly that without Donald Trump none of them would have had the backbone or the opportunity to be a part of this.
I’ll have another longer post on the Kavanaugh addition to the Supreme Court but let’s just savor the moment.

Michael Anton (aka Publius Decius Mus) very, very rarely underwhelms. This is no exception. He lays out the strategy of the left and the uselessness of the NeverTrump Right.
None of the indictment is novel or complicated. The bottom line is the Left has abandoned any recourse to objectivity, due process or even sanity. All’s fair in love and war and everything is war for the Left. Character assassination, perjury, intimidation, harassment of wives and children and any amount of media manipulation are not only acceptable but mandatory. The #metoo playbook requires the accused to curl up in the fetal position and allow every kick from the sisterhood to land squarely. And it requires every good Republican loser to join the accused on the floor for his well earned kicks. And right on cue Flake curls up and presents his “head” for kicking.
But, surprise, surprise, neither Kavanaugh, Trump or even McConnell played dead. They decided to fight back instead and they even won.
Anton says that the bright spot in this nightmare is that the orgy of dishonesty against one of their own (Kavanaugh is a Beltway insider) is bound to wake up many of the establishment Republicans from their stupor. He thinks this tawdry exercise is providing an example to the spineless Republican leadership of what it’s like to stand up to a leftist lynch mob and win. Maybe next time a psychotic leftist harpy accuses a man of some crime of passion that no one in his right mind would want to commit on her the Republicans will wise up and laugh her out of the Capitol Building. Maybe, but I wouldn’t bet on it, the worthless worms.
Vox has linked to a study that was done to test what level of shoddy research and what amount of left wing gobbledygook would get an academic paper in one of the social sciences rejected. The answer apparently is that any amount of nonsense is acceptable in those fields. In fact, the crazier the paper, the more likely it will be received favorably. Remarkable. Here’s Vox’s link.

Whether you agree with all, some or none of what TheZMan writes, I don’t think you can doubt his analytical ability. In this article he paints a pretty convincing case for the current American power structure being basically a bunch of interlocking old boy networks stretching across industry, academia, media and the government bureaucracies. Now that’s hardly an original concept but what he stresses is that the pettiness and parochial nature of the mindset allows us to understand how for instance, the Swamp’s attack on Trump works. It’s Frasier at the FBI meeting up on the Vineyard with his old prep school buddy Chad at the New York Times to plant a story about Russian collusion by this gauche upstart Trump. It’s Everett at the EPA calling up fellow Yalie, Chaz at MIT’s Climate Institute to schedule a symposium announcing the latest “Climate Change Doomsday Milestone” and by the way, “let’s get together for a last weekend in the Hamptons.” Looking at it in that context, allows us to see how the bureaucracy can thrive whether the President is W or Obama. As long as you play ball with them and allow them their prerogatives they’ll play ball with you and even work to destroy your enemies, well, as long as they’re the wrong kind of people, of course.
Reading this makes it a little easier to understand how it all works but is the play forcing them to play ball with us while slowly draining the swamp or just nuking the swamp. I’m not sure what it would be like to have two million unemployed WASPs whose only job skills are manipulating bureaucratic power for fun and profit but I think I’m starting to warm to the idea. Everyone who works in the cold-blooded world of modern-day mid-level corporate life knows that every day you will be challenged with proving to the company that they actually need your services. Can you imagine if Muffy or Chad were suddenly looking for work on their own merits? Of course, their cousins heading up the Fortune 500 companies they’ll be applying to would like to help them out but it’s just that without the clout of their former positions in government there really isn’t a quid pro quo there. And with so many of these swamp dwellers cut loose all at once there just aren’t enough feather-bedding opportunities to go around. My gosh they might have to start out in the stock room. Oh, but wait there is no stock room anymore it’s been outsourced to Amazon and Fedex. Sorry.
Seriously, none of this stuff is surprising. It’s as old as the priestly class in Sumer. People form hierarchies and use them to feather their own nests. But at a certain point the parasitic load overwhelms the vitality of the host and either a vermifuge is administered or the host dies. Draining the swamp is another way of saying worming the United States. It can be done. But it takes a courageous mean bastard to do it right. I think Trump could be that.

I consider myself fully aware of the tremendous obstacles to preserving what’s left of the remarkable experiment that is the United States of America but I can’t quite give up on it yet.
