Ten-Dimensional Chess

Being old now, I don’t know if I’ll live to see the outcome of the great experiment that our oligarchy is currently embarking upon.  What this experiment is I’m not completely sure of.  I can see the actions being taken and make some assumptions about what is planned, but much is still speculation.  Let’s review.

The industrial basis for our modern economy has been almost completely moved to Asia.  High skill manufacture is located in Japan, South Korea and China and the low skill assembly is farmed out to Thailand, Vietnam and other backwaters.

The use of fossil fuels is being curtailed in the United States, Canada and Europe.  This will have the effect of impoverishing the majority of the former middle class and their descendants.  And the knock-on effect of this is the discouraging of these young people from marrying and having children.

At the same time the United States, Canada and Europe are being flooded with migrants from Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, various parts of Asia and the Middle East.  These migrants have the effect of further depressing the economic opportunities of the younger American and European citizens while at the same time plunging the whole of these areas in a chaotic environment that further discourages stability and political action by the supposed sovereign citizens.

So, what is this experiment?  Apparently, the oligarchs find representative democracy, at least one that doesn’t accord with their dictates as inconvenient.  So, what they are doing is reshuffling the deck.  If those pesky Europeans and European descendants have gotten demanding (things like a living wage and a middle-class existence for their children) why then let’s just find some people whose expectations only include a tin shack and a dollop of beans.  After all, if the Chinese can get the Uyghurs to assemble smart phones while they’re being genocided in the camps then surely, we can expect Guatemalans to pick fruit and work in an Amazon warehouse for practically nothing.

Ultimately, these supermen see the whole world and all the people in it as their tools.  They decide what the world will look like and even who gets to live in it.

But for this to continue to work, the Global American Empire has to be able to control basically the whole world.  Asia has to continue to make our tech equipment and America has to run things without producing anything except Artificial Intelligence and high-end war equipment.

But is this a stable system?  That’s the part that will take time to discover.  Already there appear to be some parts of the machine that are coming loose.  The extension of the European sector into Russia and its satellites has turned into a land war that has the earmarks of a catastrophe for the West.  If Russia overwhelms Ukraine, then the much-vaunted NATO alliance will have failed at its primary task of keeping Russia in check.

On the other side of Asia China is preparing to call America’s bluff over Taiwan.  That is a much more serious threat.  Such a move would cause a panic in South Korea and Japan and alter the way things are looked at throughout East Asia.

And even in a nothing place like Niger in Africa, the dominant role of the West is in retreat.  Warlords are kicking over the West’s puppets and telling the United States and France to take their troops out.

Now which way all this will go is completely unknown.  Maybe our oligarchs are playing ten-dimensional chess and they’ve already looked fifty moves ahead and know to a certainty how all of this global pinball game settles out.  Maybe the much-vaunted AI has run the simulation ten trillion times and every time the result shows the masters of the universe winning the game and the peons being crushed down to dust.

That’s what I’d love to know the answer to.  Do they know something we don’t or are they guessing?  My hunch is they’re winging it.  The face of the oligarchs is Joe Biden.  That’s not the face you get from a directorate of super geniuses.  That’s the face you end up with from a bureaucracy of hacks, crooks and hucksters and a shoddy one at that.

So maybe this regime will last long enough to outlive me.  But I’m holding out hope that the awful people running things aren’t as smart as they or even we think they are.  They’re just more ruthless than we are.  In which case they won’t have things all their way.  The global empire will end up as all empires do; in the dustbin of history.  I just hope to see it and get the last laugh.

Sony Entertainment is Building a $1.8 Billion Movie Studio in Las Vegas

Makes perfect sense.  Compare all the ways that Nevada is cheaper to work in than California.  I can only imagine how the exodus of non-acting talent will rejoice to escape from the high cost of living and low quality of life in California.

$1.8B Sony movie studio backed by Mark Wahlberg approved for Summerlin

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if other studios follow suit.  What also wouldn’t surprise me is if SONY begins dropping the ridiculous representation and inclusion standards for Oscars eligibility that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences requires for Oscars eligibility in the Best Picture category.  After all, outside of California those standards might be considered racial discrimination.

But either way, whatever hastens the death of the Hollywood monopoly on cinema is a good thing in my book.

Now of course the hard-core Wokesters will bewail this abandonment of beloved Los Angeles but a lot of actors haven’t been getting those multimillion dollar paydays lately and secretly might consider moving to a cheaper locale a pretty good idea.

Well, baby steps.

Something Went Right at SCOTUS

I’ve said that when news is noteworthy, I’ll chime in.  And here is something worth discussing.  The Supreme Court has allowed the Texas State Law that authorizes the National Guard to arrest illegal immigrants to be restored.  Texas can now enforce this law and begin arrests.  The law has not been declared constitutional by SCOTUS.  Instead, the law will continue review at the appellate level and then, if necessary, it can be returned to the Supreme Court if necessary.

Well, this is a very limited victory.  But a win is a win.  Governor Abbott should proceed to enforcing his law to the best of his ability.  Even the announcement that this law exists now might have a very strong effect in deterring migrants from entering in Texas, or even coming to Texas from another state.

What strikes me is that Americans are beginning to wake up to the disaster that wholesale migration is causing.  Even the blue state mayors and governors are beginning to admit that they’re being overwhelmed by the practical problems caused by millions of destitute and sometimes criminal individuals flooding their cities and towns.  Places like New York City and Massachusetts have tried to put a brave face on it but the dislocation of services and lack of adequate housing have drained their coffers and forced the curtailment of critical programs and services.  And as the economy continues to sour (despite the happy talk about how Bidenomics is a blooming miracle) the budget shortfalls and growing criminal activities of the migrants will bring these problems to center stage.  The recent murders and rapes committed by illegal aliens is reaching the headlines despite the attempts by the Biden administration and their allies in the media to hush them up.

If Joe Biden is re-elected in November that will allow him to try and sweep all of this under the rug.  But it remains to be seen if a local reaction like the Texas law for arresting illegal immigrants and other actions like it could withstand the federal attacks and allow the states to defend themselves from Washington’s malfeasance.  So, whether Trump or Biden prevails in November, we will start to see what is going to happen with respect to illegal immigration.  And it may come earlier.  If the appellate court rules the law unconstitutional and the Supreme Court either refuses to review it or agrees with the appellate court then Texas will be in the position to either defy the federal government or knuckle under.

And that’s the final step.  If the states give in, we’re finished.  There’s nothing else that will happen to prevent the swamping of this country with as many as a hundred million immigrants.  At that point the economic conditions in what’s left of this country will have deteriorated to the point where further immigrants won’t be as excited about entering the country.  Maybe they’ll head to Canada despite the cold climate.  But the damage will be done and we will become Brazil.

So, kudos to the Supreme Court and to Governor Abbott and the Texas state legislature for at least allowing this attempt at sanity to at least try and mitigate the rolling catastrophe that Joe Biden has wrought.  Maybe this is the beginning of red states saying they’re fed up and won’t allow their states and their citizens to be abused by the federal government and their demented leader.  We’ll see.

And there’s my post.

SCOTUS Allows Texas to Arrest Illegals.

The Texas law that allows the National Guard to arrest illegal aliens is now back in effect after the Supreme Court decided not to extend the temporary halt. This is a major victory against Joe Biden’s assault on the southern border.

Kudos to the Supreme Court and to governor Abbott for at least doing something to try and end this invasion.  Let’s see where this goes.

A Chance Conversation with the Other Side

I was talking to someone I work with.  Someone on the other side of the political divide.  And she was telling me how much it bothered her when women called themselves by their married names.  Her point was that it was demeaning to women to be just an extension of their husbands.  She said that women shouldn’t take their husband’s name at all, not even as a hyphenate.

I think she expected me to agree with her point of view.  In fact, I think what she was hoping for was an apology by me on behalf of the patriarchy!  So, I thought about telling her what I thought about women taking their husbands’ names.  And then I thought about it.  I’m pretty sure she knew I felt completely differently from her but felt that I should have to defend my point of view.

Instead, what I said was this.  Nowadays the points of view of people are no longer in a narrow range from which people can split the difference and reach a consensus.  The opinions of people have diverged to the point where they could be described as diametrically opposed.  I said that the best that could be done is to give each other enough space to do things in our own ways because otherwise there will be nothing but strife.

After that she let the discussion go.  But I could tell she was very unhappy about my position.

Living in New England, the Left is more or less unopposed.  All opposition to whatever extreme measures are taken by them is crushed in the court of public opinion (the media) or in a judicial court.  And because of this, people on the left can make believe or even actually believe that no other opinions exist except among ostracized, sub-humans that no normal person would have any contact with.

And so, she assumed that her statements would be quickly approved and even amplified by anyone hearing them uttered.  I think she was a little shocked that I didn’t at least pretend that her feelings were obviously correct.  Maybe she expected me to sheepishly explain my opposition by claiming I was an aged and outdated Neandertal who was too stupid to catch up with the world.

Instead, I opened up a window on what goes on outside of her bubble.  Even in New England, she is surrounded by a good proportion of her neighbors and strangers that disagree viscerally with her about an enormous range of subjects.  And in fact, this population is filled with a continual anger over the endless pronouncements, large and small, that the state government inflicts on us.  And because of this none of them feel any smallest sympathy for the kind of unhappiness that this woman felt about women voluntarily taking their husband’s last names in marriage.

And that is why I would so thoroughly enjoy it if Donald Trump were re-elected.  The outrage by the Left would be monumental.  The meltdowns would be histrionic, almost psychotic.  And all that would be very satisfying and cathartic.  But more useful would be the chance to express to any leftist that asked for my sympathy about Trump what I really felt.  And I don’t mean gloating.  I would very calmly explain that Donald Trump was very specifically our solution for all the intentional harm that the Left has inflicted on this country and more particularly on the White population that the Left has been demonizing relentlessly since Obama.

I’m not sure that it will be believed but I think saying it to them is the only chance to break through the bubble in places like New England.  If they come to realize that no amount of proselytizing or cajoling will change the minds of a good chunk of their neighbors’ minds maybe they’ll understand that constraining people to live against their convictions isn’t a winning strategy.

Or maybe nothing we say will ever register with them at all.  Just some thoughts on a chance conversation shouted across the two sides of the chasm.

Start the Revolution Without Me

Basically, the Democrats have decided to deconstruct the United States of America.  So, they’ve imported forty million new people from the third world, declared the existing citizens as devils and proceeded to tear down any cultural or societal rules that formerly allowed us to recognize each other and get along.

Okay, the young people are now utterly lost and the old people are completely alienated; MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.  How all this works out or doesn’t work out is the soap opera that we listen to on the “news” every day.  Trump, Biden, Musk, Newsom, DeSantis, Abbott, Schumer and the rest of the cast.  We’re supposed to be invested in all this and cheer and boo as if it were a movie.  Well, I guess it is.  But let’s be honest, our part in this melodrama is to put our money on Red or Black.  We’re supposed to cheer our side and watch the spectacle.

But doing that every day is kinda boring.  And that’s been my occupation (or hobby) since 2016.  Well, I think even in this election year and with all the hoopla that they’ll be rolling out, it’s going to be a part time exercise.  As I said the other day, I think there are way more interesting things to write about than Trump/Biden.  Part of the problem is that my own learning curve has finally flattened out.  I seem to have taken all the red pills that there are to take.  I get it.  I see the real world in all its horror.  And I’d say that almost all my readers are at about the same place too.  So, they don’t need the spiel anymore.

So, what I figure is, I’ll check the news.  If there’s something noteworthy, I’ll write about it.  If there’s not, I’ll do something else.  Maybe I’ll review something fun or worthwhile.  Maybe I’ll put up some of my fiction writing as I’ve been doing with the “Sniper” book.  In fact, I have to put aside more time for the fiction writing.  It’s going to take a lot more discipline than I currently muster to get this darn book done in a reasonable amount of time.  But that’s what I’m gonna do.

Rereading the story has been a little bit of a revelation.  I myself, actually wouldn’t mind reading a story like this.  That gives me even more encouragement to get the thing finished off and edited and make the rounds.  I’m gonna try it on Baen because they publish the kind of authors I like; people like Larry Correia.

Probably none of the lefty publishers would touch a book like this.  They wouldn’t like the politics of my protagonist.  They would feel like their friends resemble my villains.  So eventually I might just have to self-publish it on Amazon which is a difficult situation.  They have about a billion books so getting noticed is a do-or-die kinda thing.  But I might as well get along with the whole thing.

So, I read the news today.  Well, same old, same old.  Trump, Biden. Nope.

But, But, Misinformation!

The New York Times says that Donald Trump and his allies have won the war to kill the Democrats’ and the Deep State’s efforts to control political speech online.

Well, okay. I hope that’s true. Sometimes it doesn’t feel that way. Especially with people going to prison for writing memes that the Democrats don’t like.

But let’s say it’s a start.

“The arguments strike at the heart of an unsettled question in modern American political life: In a world of unlimited online communications, in which anyone can reach huge numbers of people with unverified and false information, where is the line between protecting democracy and trampling on the right to free speech?”

Apparently the NYT doesn’t understand that the 1st amendment isn’t just for their misinformation.  Funny thing is the description, “reach huge numbers of people with unverified and false information” sounds like a Joe Biden press conference.

“Even before the court rules, Mr. Trump’s allies have succeeded in paralyzing the Biden administration and the network of researchers who monitor disinformation.

Officials at the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department continue to monitor foreign disinformation, but the government has suspended virtually all cooperation with the social media platforms to address posts that originate in the United States.

“There’s just a chilling effect on all of this,” said Nina Jankowicz, a researcher who in 2022 briefly served as the executive director of a short-lived D.H.S. advisory board on disinformation. “Nobody wants to be caught up in it.””

Aww, what a shame! I guess we’re supposed to feel bad because Jankowicz’s Ministry of Truth got shut down.

So good. If the effort to censure free speech about the Democrats has failed let’s raise a cheer. But it’s a little early to declare victory. After all the TikTok law is being rolled out to take over any internet business they don’t like.

16MAR2024 – And Now for a Message from Our Sponsor

Saturday dawns sunny and brisk.  Very refreshing.  So much so that I resent sitting here to write.  But yesterday was a clamorous and dreary day of work.  So as Bob Cratchit observed, “I am behind my time.”  So here I am and I will take the time to provide cogent analysis on whatever it is that demands comment.  But “demands” is a stretch here.  I refuse to write further on Trump’s many legal battles.  When and if they reach a critical juncture, meaning, when they actually drag him off to the gulag, then I shall say my piece.

As for the latest political polls; yes, yes, we all know Trump’s winning.  Even a Democrat shill like Nate Silver is openly admitting that Biden is losing significant minority voters along with other important components of the Democrat coalition like the young and women.  But that’s all been said.  Sure, I’ll mention it in passing if it seems especially pointed.  But we are months and months away from even the conventions and by then, Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny may be the Democrat candidate.  So, no, let’s put that aside for now.

I’ve already spoken about cannibal migrants this week.  Check.

Camera Girl has complained about the ruinous price of food including the corned beef for her birthday celebration this weekend.  Check.

Russians killing Ukrainians and Ukrainians killing Russians.  Check.  Check.

So, what, what, what?

Well, truth be told, I don’t feel like talking about any of that crap right now.  It’s been said and we can take a break from saying the same things again.

If you notice I’ve been putting up some stuff from movies and books.  I find this stuff makes me feel better.  And I’m looking for more of it.  This kind of stuff makes the day better and reinforces the things I think are good and healthy to think about.  And I openly encourage anyone who has anything that they want to share with the rest of the readers to link it and I’ll put it up.  Even Weird Al Yankovic (within reason of course).

Inevitably because I’m old and because a lot of what’s new stinks, the things I’ll point to will be old.  And the amount of high definition will be limited.  I hope my younger readers will forgive this.  But honestly watching some black and white footage won’t hurt any of them too badly.

I was thinking the other day that Shakespear died more than four hundred years ago and yet his English is still ninety percent understandable by even average readers.  Newness isn’t really a very good selection criterion for entertainment or really much of anything outside of technology.  Humans are still humans.  What needs to be done is to attempt to reintroduce the younger audience with their cultural heritage.  Whether it’s Shakespeare or the Marx Brothers, the human condition is pretty constant.  Iron Man and Odysseus are similar characters with similar problems.  Thor is just Achilles with CGI added in.

So, I apologize in advance if I stop banging away quite as often on how the end of Western Civilization is approaching and instead put-up examples of why we should care if Western Civilization is saved.  I’ll try to strike the right balance of outrage and fond remembrance so that your experience here is stimulating.

On with the show.

Import – Export

I open up Word and stare at the white space and wonder, “What the hell can I write at midnight?” But there is always something to say (or write, or whatever I do) and I might as well find out what is lurking in my subconscious. The news is all over the place

Today there was a shooting on the NYC subway. Someone was shot in the head. Now this is just days after the wholly useless Governess of New York State Kathy Hochul sent the National Guard into the subway to stop the homeless from assaulting and murdering the straphangers. So, my first thought was, did a National Guardsman shoot a perp? I thought, “Nah. They probably weren’t given bullets.” Then I thought, “Maybe one of the gangbangers shot a Guardsman!” Now that seemed much more likely.
But honestly when all is said and done it was probably just gangs shooting at each other. So, all’s right with the world. Or, mission accomplished or whatever. After all, Haiti has just lowered the bar for everyone in the Western Hemisphere. If your gangsters aren’t butchering, roasting and eating their rivals then all you’re dealing with are “first world problems.” And in fact, just to show Haiti that the challenge has been accepted, Mayor Adams of New York proudly claimed that New York City is considered the Port au Prince of America. Now that’s remarkable. Port au Prince has always been a paragon of dysfunction. Back in Hait’s glory days in the 1970s there were two thriving industries that went on in Port au Prince. They had a brisk export business in medical cadavers and human blood.
Now considering that Haiti had a real problem with AIDS I’m guessing the blood business went bust. I’m guessing the cadavers were also impacted by the AIDS problem. After all, how many future doctors wanting to be dipping their hands in AIDS virus? So that’s probably why things have gone awry down in the New York City of the Caribbean. But now that powerful anti-viral drugs are all the rage, I think it’s time for all this discriminatory behavior by Americans to end and restore the trade lifeline that Haiti needs so badly.
That’s right. Haiti can now offer a new product line. Instead of medical cadavers they can provide a better option for all of those dearly departed that are cluttering up the streets of Port au Prince. Haitian Strongman Jimmy Chérizier, can bring his culinary skills to the fore and share his barbecue recipes with the right businessmen and begin exporting a whole line of smoked and cured Haitians to the US.
I mean can’t you just see it? Of course, everything will be most tastefully and delicately handled. Nothing recognizably human will be seen. No heads or hands or feet. Just meat on the bone or fillet. Why, what a perfect way for Americans to support Haiti in its hour of need. And some entrepreneurial Haitians could even emigrate up to New York and open up some barbecue joints in Manhattan. And if supply of prime Haitian runs low, I’m sure the subway shooters could provide some Northern barbecue meat in the meantime.
I always joked about cannibalism breaking out in America. I guess I was just slightly ahead of my time.
There. There’s my post.
