Snow and Sales and the Death of Cities

A very interesting day.  We got about a foot of snow and the wind has been pretty wild so I decided to wait until Tuesday to move the white stuff.  Wednesday I’ve got to bring Camera Girl’s car to a new mechanic and then go to work so it’ll be a quiet day on the site.  The price reduction on the e-book of “The Sniper” is starting to have an effect.  I reached 500 on the techno-thriller list and got below 100,000 on the Amazon overall book sales list.  I know it’s not something to write home about but it was a big jump.

Hans G. Schantz, a science fiction author I correspond with kindly reposted my announcement on X about the e-book price drop on his X feed.  And since he has orders of magnitude more readers that I do I got hundreds of people looking in and one fellow not only reposted but also bought a copy of the book.  So that was fun.

I was looking around on YouTube and my feed included a video from someone called Sophia Miller entitled “Mayor Mamdani ERUPTS After BlackRock OFFICIALLY Exits New York For Good!”  Well, I watched that video and then I watched one about Chicago and then one about Illinois and two about California.

And you know, it occurred to me that the blue states are getting ready to either implode financially or confiscate the value of the homes of their citizens to pay off the public sector pension plans they’ve underfunded.

That’s a remarkable situation.  The blue states have driven away all of the corporations that used to pay the taxes that allowed them to buy the votes of municipal and state employees who now are ready to retire on gold-plated pension plans.  Things are about to get very, very ugly.  Chicago doubled the property taxes on some working-class Chicagoans.  Mamdani is talking about raiding the New York City workers pension plans and raising property taxes by 10%.  But along with that increase will come extremely frightening revaluations of homes.  Couple this with the flight out of the city of many of the Wall Street banks and financial companies like Black Rock and JP Morgan and what is coming up is a New York City budget gap in the billions of dollars.  And that will begin the death spiral for New York as the financial capitol of the world.  Without Wall Street, New York is a basket case with eight million people living in a crime ridden environment that suffers from expensive, crumbling infrastructure that it can no longer afford to maintain.

Well, maybe that’s why Mamdani is mayor.  Maybe they needed a stooge to absorb the punishment.  This will be an awful crash for the people living there and horrible for the people who didn’t vote for this idiot.  But it has to be done.  My only worry is that Trump will try to step in and save the idiots from themselves.  This needs to be allowed to play out to the final iteration.  Because the sinking of New York City will also sink New York State, Kathy Hochul needs to be destroyed in this disaster too.  All of them deserve it and their downfall will provide a powerful lesson for idiots all across the country.  Stupid kills.

 

 

 

 

 

“Peacekeepers” in Chicago Provide New Definition of Peace

The video in the linked article shows a Chicago street gang dragging a driver from his car to be beaten to a pulp and robbed.  But luckily a yellow-vested peacekeeper arrives on the scene.  These are community leaders or ex-cons who can intervene to prevent violence.  The peacekeeper intervenes by beating the victim in the face with his own cell phone.  Eventually the police arrived and swept up what was left of the victim and brought him to a hospital.

The peacekeeper was identified from the video feed and was found in possession of the victim’s wallet. It’s good to see that community activists are stepping up and teaching the youth of our cities how it’s done.

Using the victim’s phone as a weapon is reminiscent of that scene in 2001: A Space Odyssey when the ape-man experiments with the large animal bone and figures out what an effective tool for killing his prey it would be.  Inspirational.  We’re seeing evolution at work.  All that’s left is for a stew pot to be procured and the victim to be tossed in for dinner.

Chicago Police Officially Give Up

The natural evolution of the breakdown of law and order in Chicago has reached the next stage; police capitulation.

The hot weather must have stirred up the blood of the youth of Chicago so they went on a rampage.

“Hundreds of teens cause fiery chaos in Downtown Chicago as they torch cars in rampage organized on social media: Vastly outnumbered police manage just 15 arrests.”

It appeared as if police were unable to handle the crowd and were seen escorting innocent bystanders and tourists to safety.

Mayor Lightfoot said while many of the young people gathered to have a good time and enjoy the weather, some were involved in ‘reckless, disrespectful and unlawful behavior.’

So burning cars, assaulting passersby and shooting each other is reckless and disrespectful.  That’s a very revealing interpretation.  What would it take for her to call it a riot, mass decapitations?

Lightfoot noted that Chicago police leadership has assured her they will ‘make the necessary adjustments to address these teen trends issues as we move into the summer months.’

But the most telling statement comes from the mayor-elect, Brandon Johnson:

“It is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities,” he said. “Our city must work together to create spaces for youth to gather safely and responsibly, under adult guidance and supervision, to ensure that every part of our city remains welcome for both residents and visitors.”

TRANSLATION:

Go ahead burn the city down I’ve got your back just keep voting for me and you can do whatever you like.

So this is before the new mayor takes office.  Can you imagine what will be going on by Juneteenth?  The devolution is moving along nicely.  Maybe Mayor Johnson doesn’t even get through the first year of his term before he throws in the towel and calls for Illinois to enact martial law.  Either way we’re getting a ringside seat to the next stage in Joe Biden’s America.  Well, it’s a hell of a ride.

No big surprise but apparently allowing gangbangers to kill everyone that walks down the street is even too much for brain dead Chicago voters to re-elect Lori Lightfoot.  But never fear.  With the blithering idiot they have for state’s attorney the killing will continue unabated.

Illinois State’s Attorney Declares Gang Wars Legal

A gangland shootout that left one participant dead and was filmed on police video has resulted in no criminal charges.  The five participants who survived were arrested after a standoff and seventy five shell casings were recovered but Illinois State’s Attorney Kim Foxx refused to bring charges against the gang members because the shootout was between “mutual combatants.”

I am in awe of this decision.  She doesn’t want to take a chance of blaming whichever was the “innocent” gang.  Well, they do say it’s better that a hundred guilty men go free rather than one innocent man go to jail.

To my mind the correct strategy is to sell all the gangs better weapons.  If they had rocket propelled grenade launchers they could do this thing right.  No more survivors.  Luckily we will soon have an influx of Afghans into Chicago and they’ll set these gangbangers straight on how you fight a war.

 

As de Blasio Takes Victory Lap as World’s Worst Mayor Lightfoot Says Hold My Beer

John Kass, former reporter for Chicago Tribune writes a scathing indictment of the dishonesty, incompetency and suicidal nature of the Lori Lightfoot administration in Chicago.

The latest atrocity is a young Latino couple returning from the Puerto Rican Day parade are dragged from their car, assaulted, then shot execution style for the video camera while the perpetrators run or amble away.

Lightfoot goes on camera to say how unacceptable all this is and how the killers will not be given immediate release from jail pending trial.  Boy, that’ll show’em.  Of course, that’s assuming they are ever caught.  After all the police really aren’t arresting people anymore.  Why should they?  If they do, they might be prosecuted if they have to shoot it out with the criminals.

Kass provides a long list of victims that stretch back over the last year of Lightfoot’s tenure as useless mayor of a dying city.  But she’s working hard to rename the iconic Lake Shore Drive after the city’s first non-native settler, the trader Jean Baptiste Point DuSable.  That’s right she is brokering a deal to have it called Jean Baptiste Point DuSable Lake Shore Drive.  Now that’s what I call statesmanship.

I am curious to see which major city cracks first.  New York and Chicago are in the running for sure.  I’ll define crack as when the National Guard are given shoot to kill orders.  I could go out on a limb and say this summer will do the trick but who knows?  These city folks will put up with a lot.  I’m sure that murder, rape and arson are a small price to pay to put an end to white supremacy.  Diversity, equity and inclusion is tricky business.  Burning down America’s cities doesn’t seem to be too high a price to pay.  Minneapolis, it’s your turn.
