Saint Greta’s Chinese Children’s Crusade Beckons (or Killing Two Birds with One Stone)

I just want to start off this post with a simple statement.  Greta Thunberg is emblematic of all that is wrong with our age.  Here is a confused mentally unstable child who instead of being instructed in the realities of her world is encouraged by her parents and teachers to indulge her flights of fancy and assume a mantle of wisdom with which she harangues her elders for providing her with the modern advantages that allow us to avoid cold, starvation and exhaustion, things that were the realities of human life for untold thousands of years before renaissance civilization discovered the secrets of modern physics.  This post is dedicated to mocking the world view that attaches importance to the petulant ranting and raving of this disturbed and disturbing child.

I recently read a report that China will add enough new coal fired power plants in 2020 to increase their electrical output by the total amount currently produced by all of Europe.  That means even if Europeans stopped using power completely and went to live in caves and kept themselves warm by donning squirrel pelts the Chinese would already have added back all that power usage in CO2 emitting coal for them.  Hmmmm!

This really got me thinking.  I’ll bet Saint Greta of Thunberg hasn’t heard about this.  She’s not going to like it.  That’s a lot of CO2.  I’ll bet she’d really like to start a children’s crusade in China to shut down those coal fired plants.  Why I’ll bet that there are millions of Chinese environmentalists just waiting for Saint Greta to show up in Beijing and harangue the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee on their use of coal.  Being screeched at by a stunted Scandinavian kobold; isn’t that something that the highly principled leadership of a transparent and humanistic administration like the Chinese Politburo would relish?  Hmmm!

But how to make this happen?  I mean Saint Greta is really busy practicing her scowling-in-a-mirror exercises, and the Chinese really have their hands full with helping out the happy citizens of Hong Kong.  How can the gig be set up?

Then it hit me.  Let’s tell her it’s the United States that’s adding the coal plants and she’ll be over here like a shot.  But what we can do is replace her billionaire’s catamaran with a Shanghai junk and send her on a voyage of discovery as she sails through the Suez Canal, around India and into the Pacific Ocean on her way to straightening out Xi Jinping.  That two-year trek, which will include scurvy, rickets, interaction with pirates and very little in the way of modern annoyances like electricity and modern sanitary conditions, should give her a lot to think about.

And when she finally arrives in China, she can spread the gospel of renewable resources and let the people there know that they were much better off back in the Cultural Revolution when they survived on their daily five ounces of rice and their buffalo dung heating stoves.  That should really turn them around on this whole industrial revolution thing.

And once she’s converted the countryside and marches into Beijing in front of her army of millions, I’m sure Saint Greta will be installed in the Forbidden City on a Throne of Jade and televised across the Middle Kingdom with her patented “How Dare You!” speech.  Oh yeah, there’s nothing tyrannical despots like better than to be upbraided in front of their slaves by a demented dwarf.

But what would really make the whole thing special is if Saint Greta could find the authentic life style she is hoping to give to the rest of us.  I’m sure the Chinese would be thrilled to lead Saint Greta to their neighbor North Korea and let her see what the glories of pre-industrial life are really like.  If you’ve ever seen those night time satellite photos of the Korean peninsula you’ll know exactly how well the North Koreans are following Saint Greta’s example.  And with respect to food, if memory serves me correctly Greta actually resembles the way a North Korean looks after living on the diet and lifestyle fostered in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

And after Saint Greta has had a chance to reflect on the virtues of starvation and frostbite maybe President Trump can use her as a bargaining chip in his negotiations with Kim Jong Un.  He can threaten to send wave after wave of demented dwarves into North Korea if they won’t come to terms on their weapons program.  Yep, it’s a win-win for sure.

A Busy Week for Right Wing Political Observers

Well, the week has been action packed.  The Climate Nuts are panicking the children and the feeble minded with their Children’s Crusade.  The President humorously mocked the sixteen-year-old climate activist who has been screeching at her supporters all week.  Very funny indeed.

Now Nancy Pelosi and President Trump are sparring over the Ukraine and its investigation of Biden and his son.  Pelosi has begun a formal Impeachment proceeding and all the usual suspects are screaming that treason has been committed and heads will roll.  Of course, the fact that it was Biden and his son that were shaking down the Ukrainians under Obama’s regime is ignored.

And just in case that isn’t enough the British Supreme Court has declared the Prime Minister’s suspension of Parliament illegal.

Interestingly enough Rasmussen shows the President’s approval rating at its highest point in two years (52%).

Well, what does all this mean?  Just that President Trump and his enemies are locked in the death struggle that they’ve had going on for the last four years.  But the difference is he’s eliminated some of the really weak links in his team.  If Jeff Sessions were still Attorney General by now, he would have recused himself in favor of Rod Rosenstein and a new special prosecutor would be drip-dripping stories to the New York Times and Rachel Maddow would be starting her death watch for the Trump Administration again.

But not this time.  Instead, the FBI is investigating the Biden Ukraine scandal and even I am starting to have doubts about Creepy Uncle Joe making it to the convention.  Lately Fauxcahantas has overtaken Bernie in the polls and has even passed Biden in the Iowa poll.  The youth contingent of the progressives is happy to see that an old white guy won’t be the candidate but the party leaders are worried that the Fake Indian won’t get the enthusiastic support of the black community.  In particular, black women haven’t really embraced Warren.  This kind of uncertainty is very good for our side.  It won’t give the Dems as much time to memory hole the dirt on whichever candidate gets through.  And it will make it harder to recruit the Veep for the ticket.  After all Creepy Joe is a strange weirdo but compared to the likes of Warren or Harris, he’s almost Santa Claus.

Many right wing pundits fear Fauxcahantas as the more formidable opponent in 2020.  I will admit that she hasn’t forgotten what state she’s in or mixed up which decade things happened like Plugs Biden has, but she’s a deeply unlikeable woman whose only natural constituency is middle aged professional white women.  Men find her voice comparable to fingernails screeching over a chalk board.  In other words, sort of like Hillary Clinton.

Also, she has publicly stated that she supports Medicaid for all, free healthcare for illegal aliens and the ludicrously expensive and hopelessly ineffective Green New Deal.  I think even Jeb Bush could manage to attack her over those awful policies.  But it won’t be Jeb at the debates it will be the Man Who Buried Hillary.  The only real question is whether he calls her Liarwatha during his opening statement or during the first round of questions.

So far this has been a very interesting week.  Many people feel that President Trump intentionally initiated this Ukraine dust-up to force Pelosi to begin impeachment.  At this point, that seems possible.  The consensus is that Pelosi wanted to save an impeachment drama for closer to the election to hurt the President’s election chances.  But letting the Ukraine investigate Biden’s son would throw a cloud over the current leading candidate’s campaign and breed fear, uncertainty and depression for the Dems.  It’s sort of a lose/lose situation for the Dems.  There is the chance that forcing the country to go through an impeachment process this close to the election and for no good reason could throw the House of Representatives to the Republicans next year and strengthen President Trump’s hand immeasurably.

And finally getting back to the Brexit situation it remains to be seen if Boris Johnson will be willing to allow a Hard Brexit to occur by refusing to request an extension from the EU.  If that occurs, he could possibly be charged with a crime.  This really is an amazing situation.  It will take guts to do it but if he does it might make him the most popular Prime Minister since Winston Churchill.

Stay tuned.  Things seem to be heating up.

Climate Catastrophe and Firefly

Today I watched that clip of teenage Swedish drama queen Greta Thunberg harnessing some kind of climate panic attack to call us out on the evil we’re doing to the planet.  Now considering that she rode a jet to get to the UN climate conference it’s a little thick having to listen to her harangue us because we heat our houses and drive to work to be able to feed our children.  But she is a sixteen-year-old girl and they tend to be pretty crazy at that age.  Anyway, I’m watching the rant and it seems like I recognize her from somewhere.  And then it hits me, Greta Thunberg is actually River Tam from Firefly!  And now it all makes perfect sense.  If you were a fan of the show you know that River was the victim of clandestine brain surgery by the Alliance, in the quest to turn her into a four foot eleven, eighty-seven-pound, mind reading, super soldier.  Of course, she’s crazy.  That kind of diabolical amygdala scraping will leave the victim incapable of distinguishing climate hoax form reality.

At this point all the craziness started making sense.  In the Firefly universe Earth’s ecosystem collapsed.  River has been recaptured by the Alliance and reprogrammed to parrot the climate change speeches her tormentors have fed her poor battered mind.  The fiends!  No matter, I could detect that even while she spoke a vein throbbing over her eye was actually spelling out a message in Morse code.  It spelled out the message, “It’s not anthropogenic global warming, it’s really only solar output fluctuation.”  She misspelled anthropogenic and she also added, “Jayne’s a girl’s name.” But that was just reflex.  So brave, so brave.

So, there you have it.  Her handlers (or parents if you don’t mind the charade) trot her out to enflame the demented climate mob.  But how can she be rescued from this awful enslavement.  Can Simon Tam call on the Resistance (not that Resistance) to smuggle him into the Alliance prison and once again break her out?  Or can Mal, Zoe and Jayne use their skills as Space Pirates to swoop down and scoop her up in the cargo hold of Serenity?

But what then?  How can the diabolical brainwashing be cured?  She must be close to total insanity.  I mean she believes the world will end in ten years.  So sad, so sad.

But then a pop-up ad for hair restoration services opened up and I got distracted so I don’t have the answers I need to solve this conundrum.  I’ll have to re-watch my blue ray copies of Firefly and Serenity to try to figure out the best path forward.  I only pray we’re not too late to save her.

Of course, she was the most annoying character on the show and I agreed with Jayne that she should be handed back to the Alliance.  Hmmm.

Anyway, that film clip was hands down the dopiest emotional display of unalloyed teenage stupidity to come down the pike since that imbecilic kid David Hogg road his bicycle to the Parkland shooting.  She really deserves to be mocked for the ridiculous hyperbole she spouts.  At the very least her parents should be brought up on child abuse charges for allowing her to be used as a trained seal by the climate scammers.

Finally, Whedon is a tool for killing off Wash.  That was totally wrong.

16JAN2019 – American Greatness Post of the Day – The Celebrated Fake Frog That Is Taking Down the Deep State – By Karin McQuillan

The subject of this post may seem slight in the scheme of things but in my opinion it gets to the heart of how a Conservative Supreme Court can reverse some of the worst of the damage done by unconstitutional judicial overreach.

The Celebrated Fake Frog That Is Taking Down the Deep State

Karin McQuillan describes how in 1984 the Supreme Court decided that the experts in the federal government could decide on regulations that not even the courts could challenge.  This was called the “Chevron deference.”  This has allowed EPA scientists to dictate all manner of restrictions on private citizens and businesses for completely fraudulent reasons.  Fake frogs and mythical mice have been used to punish land owners and restrict them from using their own land to satisfy the spite of misguided naturalists.  Now the new Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh have joined with Justice Thomas to take the lead to reverse the use of the Chevron deference and free the American people from their bureaucratic tyrants.  It’s only a first step but it sets a precedent that can have bigger consequences.  Progress.

Let’s See if There are Any Senate Republicans Stupid Enough to Jump on the Carbon Tax Bandwagon

As the linked article documents even liberals in Washington state and Canada rebelled against the insanity of paying more money for the hydrocarbon fuel we use to heat our home and drive to work.  Any republican senator who votes for this deserves to be primaried and cast into the great abyss where Paul Ryan and Jeff Flake wail and gnash their teeth.  But I guarantee that more than one idiot republican senator will.

We really deserve better politicians but I doubt we’ll ever get them.

Is Paris Burning Because of the Global Warming Scam?

A coalition of outraged Frenchmen from the Right and Left called the Yellow Vests have burned downtown Paris to protest government taxes on fuel prices.  In the last week the price of gasoline went down five cents in my neighborhood.  I’m guessing the fuel price increases must at least partly be part of EU initiatives to discourage CO2 emissions.  Wouldn’t it be funny if the EU has to back off the carbon footprint measures to prevent being dragged off to the guillotine.

Vox Day has a Link and an Excerpt to a Climate Change Refutation

This would be funny stuff if it wasn’t so sad.  Now that global warming has turned into a joke the alarmists are trying to do damage control.  A recent paper by the alarmists tried to refute the fact that back in the 1970s most “climate scientists” believed we were heading into an ice age.  The real reason for the papaer is that if the public realized how confused the conclusions of climate science really are it would only make the present Alarmists appear even more delusional.  This article is a study to show that the majority of scientists did indeed think the planet was drastically cooling.

Vox Day Has Linked to an Amazing Research Project

Vox  has linked to a study that was done to test what level of shoddy research and what amount of left wing gobbledygook would get an academic paper in one of the social sciences rejected.  The answer apparently is that any amount of nonsense is acceptable in those fields.  In fact, the crazier the paper, the more likely it will be received favorably.  Remarkable.  Here’s Vox’s link.

What Is a Sub-Species?  Whatever We Tell You It Is! – Fake Science

Years ago, I used to frequent a website that catered to field-herpers.  Field-herpers aren’t people suffering from herpes caught while engaging in questionable sexual behavior in the outdoors.  These are people who search for reptiles and amphibians in their natural habitats.  And among the denizens of this site were a certain number of herpetologists.  These are biologists who study reptiles and amphibians.  And most of these scientists are just regular folks doing their jobs for either a college or for the state or federal government.  They do population studies and other more esoteric scientific analyses.

But a very small percentage of these were individuals who each made it his life’s work to make sure that nobody but a “scientist” kept reptiles and amphibians on his own.  In some areas of the country this is essentially a fait accompli.  In a place like Massachusetts, almost any reptile or amphibian less common than a bullfrog is already listed as an endangered or threatened species.  Even the rattlesnakes are protected.  And as for turtles, you can probably keep a painted turtle or a snapper but everything else is sacrosanct.  Even the turtles that they admit aren’t endangered or even uncommon are treated as contraband such that if you were caught in possession of one you’d get more prison time than if you were discovered hauling a tractor trailer full of cocaine into the state.

Now in less densely populated states like Kansas and Missouri it was pretty common for a farm boy who had an interest in nature to catch a rat snake or a bull snake around the hen house and build a cage for it and figure out how to feed it and keep it alive.  Many famous early 20th Century herpetologists got started in just that way.  A Snake is a very interesting and unusual creature.  Other than horrifying his female relatives it is a harmless endeavor for a pre-teen boy from which some knowledge of the outdoors can be easily gleaned including the usefulness of snakes as a rodent exterminating agent.  And since snakes do not require companionship or affection it is relatively guilt-free for the keeper.

In these farming states it was difficult for the zoological SJWs to claim endangered status for these rodent eating snakes.  After all corn fields breed rats and mice at a prodigious rate.  And that ensures a plentiful supply of snakes.  But the SJWs are a persistent bunch and with enough time and warped thinking they can always make up something.  And what they’ve come up with is the “convenient sub-species.”  Let’s say you have a species with an enormous range and the ability to inhabit a wide range of habitats.  As an example, take the common garter snake (Thamnophis sirtalis).  This animal extends the length and breadth of the continental United States and even occupies large parts of Canada and even the southeast tip of Alaska.  It’s ridiculously common.  And because it thrives in widely varying habitats it has adapted and has developed different patterns and coloring to blend in better with its environment.  There are striped populations and checked ones.  There are almost totally black populations (melanistic) and there is a whole suite of color groupings.  On the west coast there are some areas that have populations that tend to red and orange.  And even in the same geographic location you can find differences in appearance that show how camouflage has been successful in selecting a phenotype for survival.  Okay, so far so good.  The common garter snake is a prodigy of ecological success.  What a shame for SJWs.  How can you ban a little boy from catching a garter snake and keeping it in a terrarium for a few weeks until he gets tired of feeding it worms and throws it back in the field where he found it?  After all it’s ubiquitous.  A thousand get diced in the blades of suburban lawnmowers every Saturday in August around every good-sized town in America.  What harm is there in a little boy keeping one.  Well the harm is he’s having fun and he’s not doing it in a classroom, sanctioned and facilitated by the state.  He’s doing it himself!

But how to stop him?  Well, the common garter snake is a tough nut to crack but give the SJW credit.  He’ll find a way.  And the answer is the convenient sub-species.  So back to the SCIENCE!  Thamnophis sirtalis is one species.  If you look at one population in Massachusetts and then looked at another one a hundred miles to the west you might find very small color differences and yet if you let them mate, which they would, the offspring would be almost indistinguishable from both parents.  And you could do the same every hundred miles west all across the continental United States until you reached Oregon or Washington and each time you’d find the same thing, very tiny gradations in color and pattern.  By then the populations would be significantly different from the Massachusetts tribe but they’d still be the same species and in fact they could breed with their Bay State cousins and produce common garter snakes.  But what if we decided that there was such a thing as sub-species?  Let’s say that we look at the garter snakes on the West Coast and compare them directly to the garter snakes on the East Coast.  They are fairly distinct.  Without looking at the progression of gradations from one coast to the other you might even be able to convince yourself that they are different species.  So sub-species is something that rather arbitrarily can be designated along the range of a species that spans large geographic areas.  Well, even if it is arbitrary, there are noticeable differences in form (morphology) to base such a classification on and since biologists have a lot of time on their hands in the winter they go to their collection of bottled alcohol-preserved snakes and draw lines on the range map showing where sub-species X ends and where sub-species Y begins.  Once again, fine.  Anything that keeps biologists off of fieldherper websites is a good thing.  And the SJW scores a great victory here.  In the whole universe of garter snake habitats, it would have to be San Francisco that combines an attractive and distinctive local subspecies with a shrinking range due to local land usage that almost (well not quite almost) justifies providing a protected status to the population.  But, of course, the draconian measures employed undermines the legitimacy of the case for protecting the population.  Captive bred populations of the San Francisco garters exist in Europe and many other places but ownership in the US is prohibited and extreme measures are taken to prevent these foreign blood lines from being brought into the country.  Scientific studies of the genetics of the SF garters and other red colored garters from the west coast show no differences in genetic makeup.  In other words, the SF garter snake is no more than a local population that differs in genetics no more than those garter snakes that lived a hundred miles from the ones we talked about earlier.  The biggest difference is that the academics in San Francisco made a stink about their local snake and dragged the Feds in to make it a federal case.

And so, the example has been set.  Find a distinctive population of a common species and declare it endangered.  But this was just the beginning.  Suppose you have a common species whose range only barely extends into a particular state.  Where a change of topography limits the range of a species to a small area that overlaps with the jurisdiction of a state government it is possible to have a situation where the species is extremely common on both sides of a state border but only inhabits a tiny area within that state.  Because of the limited area of the snake in this state, the local scientists will decide that it’s threatened.  Does this make any sense?  None.  But that’s now standard operating procedure.  And step by step you build up a patchwork of restrictions on common species and laws to punish anyone who is interested in keeping them.

And finally, we come to the last stage of the convenient sub-species.  Population biologists start performing morphological studies on the prevalence of small differences in appearance between small populations of a common species.  As an example, imagine that a certain snake has a range of scale counts on its chin.  Let’s say the count can vary from a minimum of eight scales to a maximum of twelve scales.  And suppose on Hill A the population has 66% eight scale average and 33% 12 scale average.  Meanwhile on Hill B about half a mile away the proportions are reversed (33% lower, 66% higher).  The field biologist will declare these two populations sub-species and because of their limited ranges they are endangered sub-species.  Think about that.

So, this is the strategy.  Break everything into smaller and smaller populations, declare these smaller groupings distinct and then use the small size to declare them endangered.  Pretty brilliant.  And we pay the salary of these government and academic scientists who do this to us.  And the same system is used for plants, insects, birds, snails, fish and everything else that gives bureaucrats power over businesses and ordinary people who come in contact with the natural world.

It’s a racket and it works.  And the way it effects hobbyists who keep pets is just the tip of the iceberg.  Every time a small population of a common species is identified as an endangered species it can be used to prevent a dam from being built or someone from using his own property as he likes.  It’s about power and demoralizing a free people.

So to answer my original question, a sub-species is whatever government and academic scientists need it to be in order to assert power over the actions of the citizens of this country.  There’s no objective standard.  Just whatever it takes to assert the government’s power over its citizens.  Fake science.
