Black Dreadlocked White Supremacist Goes on Shooting Spree in Austin
And they’re right. It’s obvious this black dreadlocked individual is a rabid white supremacist trying to disrupt the perfection that is the Joe Burden administration.
But just in case it is a bona fide person of color the Austin Police have asked him to send in a report at some convenient time to clarify why he had to defend himself against the white supremacists who must have waylaid him in the streets of Austin.
It will be several weeks before the BLM representatives approve whatever story the police piece together. In the meantime the Austin American-Statesman has begun the Juneteenth celebration early by renaming the paper the Austin African-American-Statesman.
Coinbase and Base Camp Have Spawned an Anti-Woke Movement
Hat tip to Vox Day for the link to this article. Although he thinks this centrist approach is doomed to failure.
“Mission Protocol” is the watchword that a number of Silicon Valley companies have adopted to describe their policy of outlawing woke activism from their work day. These CEO’s aren’t conservatives by any stretch of the imagination but they are capitalists and they’ve identified woke activism as a money loser for their companies. They’ve seen the activist employees divert energy and focus away from the core functions of their businesses and they want to put a stop to it. And now that a couple of companies have tried it and succeeded the rest of them are interested and some of them seem to be following suit.
Vox sees it as too little too late but I think it’s hopeful if the mindset in one of the most important and youth-oriented sides of the business world is waking up to the fact that letting mentally ill people run your company is the best way to kill your company. Imagine if it percolates down to dinosaurs like Coke and Pepsi that they don’t have to let HR run their enterprise based on woke sensibilities and marxist dogma. Hell, they might even start growing their businesses again!
12JUN2021 – OCF Update
As you may have noted, my daily photo is now solidly past photos of summer 2020 and into the fall with autumn foliage colors and leaves all withered and sear.
Juxtaposed against the very verdant summer outside my window I find it stimulating to enjoy the contrast. And it reminds me not to waste the chance of getting out in the world and soaking up the summer air and sun. It’s turned cool and rainy today and we’ll have a bit of cool weather for a few days but with any luck global warming will come to my rescue.
After the elation I described in conquering the lawn mower repair I bragged that I was looking for new worlds to conquer with my newly minted mechanical aptitude. Well, pride goeth before the fall and Camera Girl reminded me that I had promised to fix a leaky drain line on the kitchen sink. I was going to call a plumber. The line is one of those new-fangled plastic lines that have invaded our piping systems of late. And I’ll bet dollars to donuts it will require all kinds of fittings and adhesives that I do not possess. Well, what can you do. My pride won’t let me call the professional now. Well, not until the water gets too deep.
Tyler Cook of the Portly Politico and I have decided to cross link on our reviews for the 2019 movie based on H.P. Lovecraft’s story “The Colour Out of Space.” We both thought this movie was awful but we thought that readers should enjoy the nuanced differences between the reviews. Actually what you’ll see is our two styles. Tyler is a witty and intelligent writer and I like to rant. This exciting literary event will occur at 6:30 AM Monday, June 14th 2021.
On the politics side we are firmly into the Silly Season lull but there are stories emerging that indicate that the “Great Reset” is a partnership between Woke Capital and the Joe Burden administration. Apparently Black Rock Capital will buy up all the suburban real estate so our kids and grandkids will have to rent from them in perpetuity. On a positive note DeSantis in Florida, Abbott in Texas and some of the other governors are starting to make noise about taking a stand against the feds and the woke corporations and fight for our rights as unwilling serfs. Abbott doesn’t seem like a real conservative but maybe he’s smart enough to know which way the wind is blowing. DeSantis may be the real deal. Time will tell. Maybe we actually aren’t licked yet.
Anyway, plenty of fun stuff to write about. Stay tuned.
The Sorrows and Further Sorrows of Small Engine Repair
So, I have this relatively new lawn tractor that I drove over a big damn rock and knocked off half of the blade. Since it was vibrating awfully, I sent it to the professionals to fix and they said they’d be keeping it for the better part of the month. So, I figured I’d fall back on Plan B, my old 20” Murray push mower.
I used it for about a half hour and it sounded like it was running out of gas so I headed back to the shed for more gas. But when I looked in the tank there was still plenty of gas. So, I topped it off and pulled the cord. Nothing.
So, I’m stumped. This was the first use of the year and I’m trying to guess if maybe the gas had some water in it. But I’m thinking, “It ran for a half hour.”
But a simple mind likes a simple story so I go twenty minutes each way to the gas station and buy some dry gas. I put it in the tank and try to start it. Nothing.
Okay, not the gas. But maybe the old gas over the winter has clogged the carburetor. So, I started taking it apart and then I realize I don’t know what I’m doing. Plus, maybe it’s better to just buy a replacement. So, I do what any red-blooded American man would do. I check for a YouTube video on my carburetor. And what do you know there are several. So, I watch them and become an expert. I take the thing apart and clean out the jet and disassemble the hinge on the float and clean the plug. I reassemble the carburetor and reattach the fuel line and the linkage and close it up and it actually coughed into life and then stalled out again. But it wouldn’t start after that.
So, I took off the top and checked the action on the rotor. It moved smoothly. Next on the agenda was the spark plug. But I didn’t have a spark plug wrench so I headed to friendly neighborhood hardware store and an hour later I was pulling the plug and sure enough it was covered with carbon and corroded. So off to AutoZone and an hour later I have a new plug and install it. Nothing.
Now I’m starting to get annoyed. This has been a very aggravating process for which I have made exactly zero progress. Plan C buy a new push mower. But I notice that these formerly cheap machines now go for two hundred and fifty bucks and that seems ridiculous since I have one in front of me. Plan D is buying a reel mower and remove the yearly ritual of winterizing the mower and worrying about the vicissitudes of small engine repair. But overnight I decide that maybe I didn’t do everything I could have done with the carburetor.
So, the next day I take the stupid thing apart again and clean it till it looks brand new. And then after I reassembled, I tried it again. Nothing.
So I did a little experiment. I checked to see if the spark plug was wet with gas after trying to start. It was dry. Now I was stumped. With the carburetor clean it should at least get gasoline to the spark plug. Now I was sure I must have put the carburetor together wrong. I was ready to give up. Plan D sounded about right. A hundred bucks would get me a reel mower that would last for twenty years and give some exercise too. But just for luck I decided to try starting it one more time.
So, I primed it three times, put my hand on the stop bar and pulled the cord. Nothing.
But then by accident I looked down the stop cable and notice that the cable looked screwy. It had a couple of strands of the cable sticking out and the plastic cable cover was bent at the linkage at a funny angle. So, I played with the bar and realized that plastic cover was cracked and caught against the frame and the wire strands were also interfering with the mechanism.
I fiddled with it to free the cover from the end connection and bent the loose wires out of the way. Then I primed the gas, held down the bar and pulled the starter cord. And it started up with a roar. I got my wire cutters and cut those strands away and got my black electrical tape and made a temporary repair to the cable cover and started it up a half dozen times and the repair held and worked.
There was great joy among the peasants and a holiday was declared. Meanwhile I ordered the cable from my local dealer and it should arrive in about a week and a half.
Now you may be asking what the moral of this story is. Well, the only one I can think of is that if you really need something fixed stick to a professional mechanic. But I will say that when I finally did get the damned thing fixed, I felt like Wiley Coyote, Super Genius. And I’m already thinking about what my next project should be. I’ve put in an order with ACME and between giant magnets, rockets, giant magnifying glasses and roller skates I think I’ll be able to achieve cold fusion by the Fourth of July. Hail the conquering hero.
12JUN2021 – Quote of the Day
Staircase wit.
Denis Diderot
(This phrase is a famous allusion to the witty remarks one thinks of when it is too late, as when one is leaving a meeting and going down the stairs.)
(The famous modern example of staircase wit is “jerk store.”)

Let BLM and the LGBTQ Try to Sort This One Out
A Virginia Tech football player who is originally from Nigeria punched and stomped a sex partner to death when he discovered that it was a man. So here we have a black life that matters against someone who should be alive right now celebrating his pride in providing sex to men while disguised as a woman.
In one of the accounts the friends of the deceased were adamant that the victim preferred male pronouns. Well, thank goodness for that. Otherwise someone might question whether this throws the whole concept of women with penises into question. And we can’t have that.
Since the dead man is white I have to think that his white privilege or perhaps some latent white supremacy had something to do with his predicament. Obviously it couldn’t have to do with his sexuality or the gruesome attack by his customer. But someone is going to have to thread the needle on this one. I’m going out on a limb and say they’ll go with a suspended sentence and a stern warning about stomping tranny hookers to death. Well, next time he’ll check his sex worker’s bona fides before getting down to business. After all fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me!
Silly Season 2021 – Toobin Strikes Back!
Just when you thought it was safe to watch CNN again, he returns.
Jeffrey “why is everybody looking at me like that?” Toobin has returned to provide legal insight to the viewers at CNN. But the female viewers will always be a little nervous from now on. And in any remote interview everyone will be thinking, “Is he wearing pants and where are his hands?” And when he’s in studio will we ever see a woman (or anyone) shaking his hand ever again?
We live in the age of miracles and wonder and seeing Jeffrey “tube lubin” Toobin return from the wilderness proves that there is nothing so awful and pathetic that a true progressive won’t come back from it saying “What? What?” Even Bill Clinton must take off his hat or pants to Toobin.
I agree with the statement of one of the commenters on this bizarre resurrection, “This man must’ve had some dirt on somebody with power ’cause this is just beyond.”
But my favorite comment was ” At least @CNN is honest now about having no journalistic standards whatsoever. Such honesty must be freeing!”
Surely the LGBTQ movement must have a letter for Toobin. Maybe W for wanker. Obviously the normal people don’t want him but during sodomy pride month there must be a special place for someone like Jeffrey who may have pride but definitively has no shame.
