14APR2022 – OCF Update-Camera Girl Finally Frees the Slaves

Winter, Sony A7 III, Voigtlander 10mm f\5.6 lens, 22APR2021 – Photo of the Day

Today was a day of toil.  About a week ago Camera Girl was  in her garden, supposedly turning the soil with a pitchfork.  I say supposedly because after ten or fifteen minutes of effort the pitchfork was still stuck in the ground and the ground was having the best of the argument.

Finally she gave up and complained bitterly of her fate.  Being the gentlemanly parfait knight that I am, I mocked her.  I said, “Sure women are always saying how they can do anything a man can but apparently that doesn’t apply to pitchforks.”  She sot me a look that seemed to imply something about the quality of that night’s dinner.  So I displayed magnanimity.  I said, “You poor weak creature, I will turn the soil for you, only not today.

Well, apparently “not today” was today.  So I went out to the west field and starting singing road gang spirituals.  And to be honest, between the matted weed roots and the stupid liner that someone put in the soil was incredibly tough and heavy to turn.  But three hours of working like a hired field hand got it done.  About half way through it occurred to me that I could have rented a rototiller.  But by the end I was so satisfied with myself that it was worth it.  I showed up afterward in the kitchen drenched in sweat and covered with dirt but extremely pleased with myself.

I preened in front of Camera Girl and lectured on the difference between man’s work and woman’s work.  I mentioned that I left some clean up of weeds and liner next to the garden.  And that she should get that squared away as soon as possible.  She mumbled something under her breath but I pretended not to hear her.  Then I headed up for a well deserved shower.

Remarkably shortly after i finished working the skies opened up and it poured to beat the band.  Probably some of the seedling I put in this week may be washed away.  But some of them will make it and I ‘ve got more for next week too.  As long as we don’t have a repeat of last spring when it rained for forty days and forty nights, things will be fine in the garden.

This year we intend to grow a lot of butternut squash because Camera girl makes a great chicken soup with it.  And we’ll grow lots of zucchini and eggplant.  This year we’ll put in some thorn-less raspberries and I might move my blueberry bushes to make it easier to protect them from the birds.  Most years they get more than I do.  And I have to remember to put out the egg cases that the praying mantis laid over the winter.   I sure don’t want them hatching in the house.

So it was a work day but I’ll be sure to find something to be outraged about in the news when I check it out.  Enjoy your Thursday night.

Poetic Social Justice

Recently Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida threatened to take all the illegal aliens that the feds let into Florida and bus them to Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware.  This week Governor Greg Abbott of Texas took a page from the DeSantis playbook and started bussing his illegals to Washington D.C.

These are very good ideas.  But I think I have a better bus stop for these lucky illegals.  I think they should be shipped to that famous resort island of Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.  That’s right.  Let them share the sun and surf with the likes of Barack and Michelle Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton.  Also David Letterman, Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen, Larry David and a host of other hyper-woke lefties.  They need to share their island paradise with the tired, the poor, the huddled masses yearning to breathe free and defecate on Larry David’s front porch.

And I don’t think I’m being spiteful.  These are the people who push open borders with every tweet and election rally.  They need to embrace the wonderful, smelly reality of flooding someone’s country with millions of desperate poor people.  In fact, they need to take the lead.  They must become the vanguard of overwhelmed American locales.  Watching Martha’s Vineyard becoming a northern latitude Haiti is right on so many levels.

I’m sure Massachusetts can legislate the construction of five or ten thousand Section Eight Housing units.  This would strike the correct balance between opulence and squalor.  There should probably be some kind of Critical Race Theory indoctrination center.  That way the children of the very rich and famous can discover how they are responsible for the poverty of their lice-infested neighbors.  And there can be mandatory struggle sessions.  Here these privileged youngsters can trade their money and possessions for some kind of atheist version of medieval indulgences.

I’d especially hope that the Obamas would open their hearts and their property to these prospective Americans.  And share their food, spare rooms and bathroom facilities during the summer season.  While they’re at it the wealthy denizens of the island can learn about the delightful and colorful sexual practices of these vibrant visitors.  Probably during the frequent home invasions that will be the talk of the summer season at this premiere vacation paradise.

You probably think I’m kidding.  I’m certainly not.  Disturbing the fabulously wealthy Left should be a focus of how politicians on the Right spend their time.  We could lavish a few tens of thousands of illegals each on Boston Massachusetts, Chappaqua and Sagaponack in New York, Beverly Hills, Montecito, Santa Monica and Los Altos in California and several other zip codes infested with the rich and woke.  I think if we were diligent enough it might start to sink into their heads that we’re onto their game of turning America into a banana republic while they live fat, dumb and happy in their segregated enclaves.

Think of the great publicity pictures that could be had by Project Veritas of poor destitute third world families being rounded up and removed from the Obama or Clinton oceanfront properties.  Poor little children evicted by Hillary or the Light Worker.  Very sad.  So, wake up red state governors.  Embrace creative destruction or political jiu jitsu or whatever you want to call it.  Make the Left own their positions and watch them sweat.  It’s going to be a long hot summer.

Beverly Hills Under Attack from Criminal Gangs and Rapists. DA Says Meh.

Here’s another data point to confirm that democracy does work.  The super woke residents of Beverly Hills are reaping the benefits of their election choices.  LA doesn’t arrest most offenders anymore and so the gangbangers and other career criminals have decided to branch out from South Central and visit their wealthier friends in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Santa Monica and Los Feliz.

“On March 22, in the broad daylight of a typically gorgeous day in Beverly Hills, thieves in hoodies and sunglasses took a sledgehammer to the plate glass window of Peter Sedghi’s boutique and furiously rummaged through the shards. In less than 90 seconds, the robbers stole more than $3 million worth of jewels. Two days later, in response to a wave of high-end robberies, the Los Angeles Police Department announced there would be no arrests. Instead, it cautioned Hollywood residents not to wear high quality jewelry in public.

“Beverly Hills is one of the most affluent, safest neighborhoods in the world and now everyone is scared,” Sedghi said. “All of my clients – no one wears anything.”

While the total number of rapes fell in Los Angeles during the 37-month period studied, their share spiked in predominantly white neighborhoods – rising 18.2% in neighborhoods where they comprise 81% to 100% of residents.“

Personally I’m as pleased as can be.  I think this new form of community outreach is long overdue.

“The zip codes showing the largest increases are home to film and pop stars, including Beverly Hills, of “90210” fame, where Beyonce and Jay-Z have their West Coast house; Bel Air, of “Fresh Prince” Will Smith fame, where Jennifer Lopez now resides;  and Los Feliz, where Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom share a house and where Angelina Jolie has resided since her divorce from Brad Pitt. Nearby, the U.S. Postal Service has suspended delivery to one neighborhood in Santa Monica – a town where celebrities including Tom Cruise, Christian Bale and Sandra Bullock reportedly have homes – because “multiple carriers have been subjected to assault and threats of assault.”

Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Angelina Jolie.  Yep, they will be able to embrace the more enlightened criminal justice practices currently on view in their neighborhoods.  They might want to tone down the bling displays and possibly invest in an extra bodyguard or two.

California Wants to Legislate an Inquisition For Doctors Who Commit Heresy

It’s so wonderful.

Here’s a professor of epidemiology at Stanford University, School of Medicine warning about a California bill to yank the medical licenses of doctors who don’t think children should be vaxxed against a virus that they almost assuredly won’t suffer ill effects from.  Even if the vaccine has been linked to serious and even deadly side effects in the young.

“According to California Assembly Bill 2098, physicians who deviate from an authorized set of beliefs would do so at risk to their medical license. The bill, written by Assemblyman Evan Low, a Democrat in Silicon Valley, and currently making its way through the California Legislature, is motivated by the idea that practicing doctors are spreading “misinformation” about the risks of Covid, its treatment, and the Covid vaccine. It declares that physicians and surgeons who “disseminate or promote misinformation or disinformation related to COVID-19, including false or misleading information regarding the nature and risks of the virus, its prevention and treatment; and the development, safety, and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines” shall be subject to “disciplinary action,” which could result in the loss of the doctor’s medical license.

The language of the bill itself is intentionally vague about what constitutes “misinformation,” which makes it even more damaging. Doctors, fearing loss of their livelihoods, will need to hew closely to the government line on Covid science and policy, even if that line does not track the scientific evidence. After all, until recently, top government science bureaucrats like Dr. Fauci claimed that the idea that Covid came from a Wuhan laboratory was a conspiracy theory, rather than a valid hypothesis that should be open to discussion. The government’s track record on discerning Covid truths is poor.”

Despite my pity for the innocent inhabitants of California I think this bill is a good thing.  The more dysfunctional places like California and New York become the more aware the rest of the country becomes of how dangerous their delusions are.  And I believe people in a democracy deserve to get exactly what they voted for.  In California that means getting all the Democrat lunacy anyone could imagine.  I would be alright with the court handing down sentences for erring doctors that might include tar and feathering and, if necessary, burning at the stake.

After all the good people of California reiterated their love for Gavin Nuisance at the conclusion of his recall election.  He’s their man.  Give them all they can get.
