Confirmation Hearings for William Barr as Attorney General Begin Today

This article hits some of the high points.  If Barr can begin controlling the Justice Department and get it working on the real legal problems we currently face (people being fired or de-platformed for being normal) then we might see life returning somewhat to normal.

War Pig – Child Protective Services Isn’t Protecting Children

This is a rant I did on a forum where the foster care system and the abuses by family courts and the CPS (child protective services) were being discussed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The old system of children’s homes was better. Sure, there were occasional abuses but nothing of the same order of magnitude as the current system. The current system is a pedophile’s dream. My sister and her husband were foster parents. They got kids so damaged by the system that many had to wind up being institutionalized. They finally adopted four kids, a pair of brothers and a pair of sisters, that had been physically and sexually abused by other foster families in the system. NONE OF THOSE FORMER FOSTERS HAS SEEN THE INSIDE OF A JAIL CELL. Yes, there are good foster parents like my sister and her husband, but there is a large minority of really bad ones.
CPS is also rampant with corruption and inefficiency as well as outright dereliction. Even with good foster parents like my sister and her husband, scheduled visits by CPS were often not performed for MONTHS. The case worker was supposed to lay eyes on these kids on a regular basis, but it was often three months or more between visits. Then the money system in CPS is also crooked and ripe for abuse. The former CPS director of our county was arrested, charged and convicted of embezzlement. $400k I believe. Payments to foster families was spotty and dispersed so that the families could not keep track if they were being properly reimbursed, Sometimes, payments were months late and listed the wrong expenses. This is a tactic of CPS to siphon off money. A forensic check of the finances that caught the former director said that the financial system was totally in chaos. It has not gotten any better since. Our local county commissioners tried to get involved but were smacked away from the table by the state and state court judges.
The system is totally broken. Children are being abused, sold, and killed. Suicide rates for foster children are through the roof. Many blame drugs, and I agree somewhat but that is no excuse for institutionalized abuse, rape, slavery and murder. One child a few counties over was found dead in Arizona, half the country away. Until she was identified nobody knew she was missing. She had been gone for two years. The foster family never reported her missing (they likely sold her), and the CPS caseworker had not checked on the child in two years, although her case files said that she had. She merely faked the reports. Upshot? The parents were denied future foster care and the caseworker resigned with NO CRIMINAL PENALTIES FOR ANYONE INVOLVED.
Blow up the whole system now. Today. Reinstitute children’s homes (orphanages) where they are all in one place and easy to watch.
Government Shutdown Chicken
Well, here we are.  Christmas is a fond memory and the do-nothing Republican led House is about to become the cannot-do-anything Democrat led House.  President Trump is bringing home the troops from the Middle East and will let the partial government shutdown send the bureaucrats home without their big fat paychecks.
I’ll have to read up on the actual constraints of shutting down the government.  I’m guessing the military will have sufficient funds to fuel jets and feed troops.  I don’t know what happens to Social Security checks and Medicare bills.  Both sides are making noises about who will pay the price for turning out the lights in D.C. and filling in the Grand Canyon during the hiatus.  Several people on our side of the divide have opined that since most of the civil service are Democrat supporters this will hurt them more than us and will bring them to the bargaining table first.  Sounds plausible.
I’m guessing that Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi will be the brokers on their side.  And I’m wondering if the “Dreamers” will be the carrot that will be waived to get the wall built.  I’m hoping that they won’t be given any amnesty.  It’s just too slippery a slope.  Before you know it everyone in the Third World will be identified as a Dreamer.
More importantly, what will be the path forward to evicting the tens of millions of squatters who currently inhabit the country?  At some point it has to be started if the wall is to have any meaning.  Enforcing the current immigration laws has to be part of any strategy to secure the border and return authority over the country to the legal residents.  And since it is already within existing legislation to do it, no battles in Congress are necessary.  All that is needed is the will and control over the bureaucracy and law enforcement agents whose job it is to carry out these existing policies.
I say this as if it were easy.  It’s not.  Currently the Justice Department isn’t even under the control of the President.  He must first get his Attorney General appointed and the mutinous crew currently running the various agencies fired and out of the buildings.  Then he has to find capable honest people to take their places and doing the job.  I don’t envy him the task.  It’s enormous.
It should be a very interesting January.  A few weeks without their paychecks should focus the minds of a lot of bureaucrats and hopefully make them more receptive to cutting a deal over immigration.  This will also be a real test of President Trump.  Battling Congress and dealing with his executive branch mutiny, not to mention the Mueller comedy is a titanic assignment.  I think he is up to the challenge and I wish him all the luck and success he can get.  Maybe it’s just the lingering Christmas food glow but somehow, I’m feeling optimistic.  We’ll probably know by Valentine’s Day who wins the game of chicken.
The Last Best Hope and the Alternative
I was talking to a friend at work who is right wing guy.  He is definitely more pessimistic than I am at this point.  He was talking about events and how bleak things looked to him.  I tried to cheer him up by reminding him that the press does a cyclic “Mueller is going to jail Trump” thing every month or so and it doesn’t make much sense getting worried about it.  But he was just generally discouraged and stressed that the way things were going there was no way things would get better.  I couldn’t tell him that I believed that we would definitely prevail against the Left because that would be overly optimistic.  But I told him that I wasn’t going to despair even if we don’t beat the Left in the next few years.  What I said was that if all else fails it’s our job to protect our own families from being propagandized and destroyed by the Left.  He agreed but was extremely negative about the future.  I ended by saying that at least we would know soon enough which way things will go because Trump is the strongest card we have to play.  If he fails, we can’t expect a better chance to come along.  With this he agreed.
I got to thinking about this while I was driving home.  It really is true.  President Trump is the last best hope we have of prevailing in the foreseeable future.  If he fails, we’re each on our own.  If we can form some kind of underground it will be a grass roots business with small groups based on friendship and family connections.  Larger than that will leave it open to the type of surveillance that the security apparatus has perfected.  To expand beyond that will take community building that resembles a religious group.  We know that the government has already shown its willingness to harass religious groups in any way it wants.  But that is probably still the best way to grow a grassroots movement.  It provides a way to meet and socialize.  The idea of founding a fraternal organizational that allows people to preserve the traditional beliefs and share in community activities appeals to me strongly.  It could have all kinds of worthwhile and fun activities.  And I just want to state for the record that although I am willing to accept the title of Grand Master, I absolutely refuse to wear a fez.
All kidding aside, it is without a doubt the case that if President Trump is defeated, we must assume that controlling the government won’t be an avenue for preserving traditional life.  I’ll take it to mean that the dissident right is correct in thinking that the United States as we knew it, no longer exists.  That’s a sobering thought.
Okay, enough gloom and doom.  Now let’s accentuate the positive.  Trump is President and didn’t let the maniacs bust through the southern border.  He says he’ll get the army to build the wall if needed.  And he yelled at Nancy Pelosi and Cryin’ Chuck Schumer at the White House this week.  He is still providing quality entertainment while defying our enemies.  And even if Trump is succeeding, it doesn’t mean I can’t declare myself the Grand Poobah anyway.
05DEC2018 – Grab-Bag of Interesting News Items
Plenty of interesting things are going on in the world.  Apparently  Never-Trumping isn’t as popular or lucrative as some might have thought.  The Weekly Standard, led by Bill Kristol and sticking to his NeverTrump platform seems to be going out of business.  Well, it’s hard to generate any sympathy for them.  I used to read their magazine about fifteen years ago but they never seemed interested in forwarding the goals of the conservative movement they claimed to represent.  Farewell Bill.
The Trump haters are starting to whine that Mueller’s investigation doesn’t seem to have much to show for all the blather that’s been done over the last couple of years.  It’s still too soon to tell but I’ll take it as a good sign if the true believers are feeling short-changed.
And word from France is that the yellow vest movement is getting bigger than just a revolt against the idiotic carbon tax on fuel.  It sounds like a full-fledged populist revolt is imminent.
These three news items are relatively unrelated.  But what they share is a pain for the Left.  The items about the Weekly Standard and the Yellow Vest revolt shows everyday people unwilling to support the leftist narrative.  Most conservatives aren’t going to pay to read Bill Kristol trash President Trump.  And the working and middle class French aren’t going to pay through the nose to support climate-change propaganda.
And the angst about the Mueller investigation shows that those in the know, know that there’s no there there.  (See what I did there?)
I’m still waiting to see if any swamp draining gets done this week.  I guess, to be fair, I can give them a week to make up for the GHWB funeral circus to end.  But if nothing comes of it I’ll be sorely disappointed in the President over what I’ll take to be a bluffing Tweet.
28NOV2018 – My Take on Things
Here’s a quick review of where everything stands.  The President comes out of the mid-terms losing the possibility of getting things easily through the Congress because of the Democrat capture of the House.  But he gains a reliable Senate majority for appointments to the Supreme Court Bench and the Cabinet.  Having disposed of Jeff Sessions and seeing the Mueller investigation blind-sided by a Manafort defection on his plea bargain it looks like the President is maneuvering to a place where he can deal with Mueller.  His temporary appointment of Matthew Whitaker as Attorney General is angering the Progressives so it must be a good move.  The strong stand the President is taking at the southern border is the right move and I hope he holds firm on that front.  It will win him support and help make clear that a wall at the border is a necessity.  It might even force the Democrats in the House to support funding out of fear of losing re-election in 2020.
The economy continues to move forward and unless you have all your money in the stock market (which is finally seeing a long overdue correction) this will be a very Merry Christmas.
The bad publicity and federal investigations examining anti-conservative deplatforming in the social media and on-line circles hasn’t materially helped our side very much yet.  But the comments by the President and other government leaders have had some effect on Silicon Valley and if there is more than just threat associated with this talk maybe we can see some pushback.  It would be nice if paypal and the other fund transfer vendors are slapped down and forced to play nice.
And finally, the continuing awakening of Americans to the reality of the assault on their way of life and even their identity is moving apace and is having a powerful effect on attitudes and actions.  Many people have gone from mindlessly following the proclamations of the left-wing media to seeing for themselves who is on their side and who is selling them out to the progressives.  This doesn’t involve the Millenials unfortunately, they are pretty much hopelessly in thrall to the Narrative and will continue to be the most loyal proponents of the Progressive path.  But I think it’s apparent that older folk will have to help steer the next generation (Gen Z?) into a better mode of thinking.  That is something I have thinking about myself.  Hopefully other are too.
All in all, we go into December in a better place than we were last year and with a clear path to improving things on all fronts.  It still remains for President Trump to resolve the Mueller situation.  But he seems much better suited than I to decide how that should be done.  And he needs to get his Justice Department working on bringing relief to all of us suffering at the hands of Progressive tech barons and lower court judges who attack conservatives whenever they can.  And I think he will.  So, paint me optimistic and here we are at the quick sprint to Christmas and New Year.  Ho, ho, ho.
How Does Trump Navigate the Justice Department Mess – An Uninformed Opinion
I’ll start out by saying straight out I’m simply stating my opinion based on what the situation seems to be to me.  I have no inside info and I’m not sure anyone outside the White House knows all the facts on the ground.  That being said here goes.
First assumption I make is that Robert Mueller means to persecute President Trump’s associates until he can produce enough circumstantial evidence to indict the President.  My second assumption is that he already has a bunch of things that he can unleash at any time.  My third assumption is that firing Rosenstein and Mueller after the new House is convened would be worse than doing it now.
Based on these assumptions, which are completely my own calculations of where things stand, I think President Trump will fire Robert Mueller in the next couple of days.  He’ll probably fire Rosenstein too.  But that is even less certain than the rest of this hypothesizing.
The fallout from such a course of action is much more certain.  The New York Times, Washington Post and the rest of the rags and CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC and NBC will explode with leaked stories accusing President Trump and all his associates inside and outside of the administration with every atrocity since the Sack of Rome.  Following this the Democratic House will begin investigations and shortly after that start the Impeachment Circus.  Will they impeach him?  Sure.  The only question in my mind is whether any of the idiot Republicans in the Senate decide to turn on the President.  Luckily, I think the great majority of them are smarter than that.  So, we probably lose a whole year going through this charade.
But by my reckoning that is actually the best way to handle this whole thing.  Delaying any of these steps only makes it worse.  Hopefully President Trump has gone through this too and recognizes the folly of letting this get drawn out.  The sooner he begins this Kabuki Theater act, the more space he puts between this farce and the 2020 election.  Waiting will sink his last two years and invites Mueller to tear even more people apart.  And he might as well pardon all the folks Mueller has indicted and prosecuted.  And as soon as he fires Mueller he should set up Rudy Giuliani to prosecute all the Dems and Deep Staters who have been running this treasonous witch hunt for the last three years.  And that should include Obama and his evil cronies and the Clintons.
So that’s my outsider, not clued in, totally uninformed opinion.   Fire these sons of bitches and let the chips fly where they will.  The American state is divided into two approximately equal groups.  One half likes you and won’t care at all about the crap that will fly in all directions.  The other half already hates you and it won’t make them hate you any more than they do.  So, go for it!  It will be an enormous shot in the arm for the dirt people and it will drive the moonbats right through escape velocity and headed for interstellar space.  Just my two cents.
