What’s Next for Tucker Carlson?

Well, now there’s no reason to watch Fox News anymore.  It should be interesting to see how Carlson decides to go forward from here.  I’m assuming he’s not hurting for money.  He should probably start a channel on Rumble and put up a paywall.  He’s one of the more interesting people in broadcasting.  People will pay to get his content.

The other possibility is he goes into politics.  That I see as more problematic.  Politics is a very dirty game.  If you don’t need to use it to make lots of dirty money it won’t be an interesting career.

I think Carlson could form some kind of relationship with the likes of Matt Taibbi, Glenn Greenwald, Salena Zito, Sharyl Attkisson and a few other real journalists to produce a media outlet that would provide the kind of reporting and opinion that can’t be found anywhere else in the media.  They would have believability.  That’s something that is so sorely lacking everywhere else.

If done right and without all the overhead that comes with a Fox News or a CNN, Carlson and a few reporters could break away from the dying landscape of network and cable news shows that no one needs or wants anymore.  News and analysis.  With the internet and a few resources like Rumble and maybe Elon Musk’s Twitter who needs studios and boardrooms?

Come to think of it, Carlson interviewed Musk last week.  Maybe those two could strike up a deal where Tucker’s content was available exclusively on Twitter with some of it behind a paywall.  It could make both of them a lot of money.  And it could serve as a model for the future.  I’ve heard that Musk wants to add a “substack” option to Twitter.  Having someone like Tucker Carlson as his first big “channel” might be just the thing he needs to steer talent to his platform.

So anyway, Tucker’s “firing” could be a very opportune moment to start seeing a new journalism.  Without the bloat of the dinosaur media, a cadre of people who want to tell interesting stories that have some resemblance to objective reality could provide a service that people would be willing to pay for.  I, even I, would pay a little bit for that.

Now it’s also certain that all the usual suspects on the Left will be gunning for Tucker Carlson.  I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a target for the Justice Department’s attack dogs.  Their hatred for him probably rivals how they feel about Donald Trump.  After all he’s another traitor to his class.  They’ve already once gone after his family at home.  He had to move away from Washington to protect them.  This is not a trivial threat.  Hopefully he’s made enough money to be able to afford professional security services.  But no one is safe from the abuse that the FBI can bring to bear.  We’ll have to see whether these problems crop up for him.

Well, these are interesting times.  Tucker Carlson has been the only truthful voice in mainstream news commentary.  I hope that he will be able to find a way to continue shining a light on the criminal activities of the Washington regime.  There isn’t any other voice out there that has both his reach and credibility.  Hopefully someone like Musk who has the reach and also the money to set up a platform for him will come along and take advantage of this interesting opportunity.

What Says Banana Republic Like a Visit from the IRS on the Day You Testify in Congress

Matt Taibbi is testifying before the House sub-committee on the weaponization of the federal government.  And what better proof of the existence of this problem than the IRS picking this time to show up at Taibbi’s house in person to confront him on his possible problems with his taxes?

Well, at least you can’t claim that the IRS doesn’t have a sense of humor.  It’s a morbid sense of humor but obviously heart felt.  You see?  These folks don’t work clandestinely they are openly contemptuous of any attempt to rein in their abuses.

Matt Taibbi Chronicles the Ministry of Truth’s Exposure

Taibbi is a lefty who actually believes in the constitution. And by all appearances is an honest man.  Such a rare bird.

In this essay he traces the origins of the information state and shows how Americans may have had enough of it.

But has it had enough of us?  Taibbi may be a bit too optimistic about his lefty comrades and their willingness to let go of power.

My Favorite Honest Commie, Taibbi Compares the MSM Coverage of Bident to Soviet Era Pravda

Say what you will about his lefty beliefs Matt Taibbi paints a very clear picture of just how sycophantic the mainstream media’s portrayal of Dementia Joe is.  He especially mocks the earnest statement that Joe is just so dignified and serene that it’s impossible for a Saturday Night Live parody of him to be done.  He even includes the blooper reel of gaffe-master Biden hard at work.  And he identifies a primary reason for the uniformity of the “Dear Leader” schtick.  These “journalists” are terrified that anything less will result in the Politburo that calls the shots calling their bosses and demanding a pink slip be issued for disloyalty to the Party.

I’ve been plowing through the Gulag Archipelago and I know how painful it is to slog through the unending stories of judicial malfeasance and murderous partisan witch hunts.  And Taibbi accurately equates the obsequious headlines that greet every stuttering utterance of Dopey Joe with the same sort of groveling that the Soviet era newspapers Pravda and Izvestia churned out every day.  The fact that Pravda and Izvestia mean truth and news is not lost on Taibbi.  He understands the irony of the Orwellian nature of news under a dictatorship and he accurately equates the present one party state of American journalism with the Soviet organs of propaganda.

Good for you Matt, you old commie you.  It takes one to know one.

Here’s an Interview by Matt Taibbi of Martin Gurri

Matt Taibbi is the lefty journalist who is at least honest about the crooked main stream media’s allegiance to the Deep State.  Here he interviews Martin Gurri, a former CIA analyst who predicted the Brexit and Trump revolts in his 2014 book ” The Revolt of the Public.”  Gurri believes that the internet has changed the nature of the relationship between government, the media and the people.

Gurri isn’t very ideological so his take on what is going on is fairly cold blooded.  I might read his book just to see if it provides any insights that I am lacking.  But what I see is he thinks the elites still haven’t embraced tactics that will put them back in control of the situation. Good.

I won’t say highly recommended.  Just something interesting to me.

Addressing the Status of Less Crazy Leftists

Recently during a phone call, a friend of mine asked my opinion on Glenn Greenwald.  For those unaware Greenwald was involved in the Snowden NSA leaks and has written on many aspects of the government overreach on privacy issues.  He has of late been very critical of the lock step solidarity by the tech giants and the Democratic/MSM complex to censor important news stories based on partisan viewpoint.

During the phone call I was pretty heatedly adamant that Glenn Greenwald wasn’t an ally, he was part of the Left and therefore my opponent.  But thinking about it for a while I figure it’s worthwhile clarifying exactly how I characterize guys like Greenwald and Taibbi.  In a short phrase I’d call them honest Leftists.  They believe in most of the things that the woke psychos believe in but they also believe in the Bill of Rights.  They don’t think it’s acceptable for the government to conspire with the media to railroad someone even if he’s a no-good conservative.  They probably don’t mind if Google algorithmically advantages the Left and disadvantages the Right but they don’t want it suppressing news outlets from broadcasting their stories across their platform.

And when I see a Matt Taibbi story calling MSNBC and the New York Times hypocrites for running stories that they know are false in order to advantage the Democrats, I praise him.  And when Greenwald is willing to walk away from the website that he founded because the owner forbids him to speak honestly about the Hunter Biden story then I praise him.  And what I am praising is his honesty and moral consistency.  And nowadays that’s a lot.  On left or right that’s a rare thing.  It’s an admirable trait and deserves praise.  It should be recognized and praised.

What it’s not is a reason to “reach across the aisle” and try to form an alliance.  That was the mistake that conservatives made with the neoconservatives.  Conservatives thought that because both sides wanted a strong defense against the Russians and free market capitalism that we could join forces and work a compromise that would work to both sides’ advantage.  Instead we got a series of wars in the Middle East and a globalist financial agenda while they adopted all of the social policies of the far Left.  That meant gay marriage, transgenderism, open borders, intersectionality in our schools and BLM in the streets.

And as long as all of these things were slowly assimilated into the culture without violence in the street and approved by the Supreme Court voted in by the Uniparty then the neocons would be fine with it.  And if you weren’t fine with it  then you were a racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic bigot.  And the same slippery slope goes double for Matt Taibbi and Glenn Greenwald.  All they require is that all the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed.  They are honest and they honestly want all the things that make life in America awful.  The only difference is that they’re willing to let you say what you think before they call you a racist homophobe.  The woke people want to silence you so you can’t even say it, or write it or even think it.  They need to be dealt with drastically.  They need to be put out of business.  Taibbi and Greenwald can be ignored.

Bottom line, I respect Taibbi and Greenwald.  But they are not my friends, allies or partners.  They are my enemies even if they are enemies whose honesty I respect.

Taibbi Lays Out the Inconsistencies in the FBI Narrative

Taibbi details the places in the FBI’s narrative where the lies contradict each other.  In each case there are two stories that clash and someone has to be lying.  Barr and Durham should have a good time raking these creeps over the coals.  Even Loretta Lynch is in the cast of shady characters.

It’s Official, Matt Taibbi is the Only Honest Prog Reporter

Taibbi is a progressive through and through.  But he’s actually a journalist!  He’s honest about the lack of objectivity or even reality that the Left has embraced.  Good for him.

Taibbi Mocks the Russophobes on the Left

Matt Taibbi is no fan of President Trump but he is willing to call BS when the Left talks crazy.  Here he points out that Hillary Clinton is talking nonsense when she labels Tulsi Gabbard a Russian Asset.  In fact he says that Hillary is nuts.  How can you not love that?  Then he talks about the rest of the Left’s supposed russophobia.  This is the third article from him I’ve enjoyed. Surprising.  Check it out.

Everyone Is a Russian Asset

Crushing the Coup is Not Optional

Last Monday I put up a post about Matt Taibbi’s article on the “permanent coup” going on inside the Deep State against President Trump.  On Friday I was listening to the Voice of Saruman (aka the ZMan) on his weekly podcast and at minute 35 he had a segment on The Permanent Coup!  It was his thoughts on Taibbi’s article.  The ZMan read a good chunk of the article aloud and then gave his take on it.  I think he said just about what I said agreeing with Taibbi.  Apparently great minds think alike.  Well, on some things anyway.  Basically, the premise is if the security state gets to decide who can be president then we’re already in a post-democratic country and it’s only a matter of time before the peasants grab their torches and pitchforks.  The ZMan took things a little farther than I did and said he thinks the chances of reforming the security agencies is very slim.  Come to think of it, I think Taibbi came to a similar conclusion and sort of predicted that a reaction in the form of a dictatorial move could be imminent.

So, listening to the podcast got me thinking about all this again.  I used to think that enduring the “Resistance” was just the price we had to pay to get on with the job of changing the Republican Party.  But now I see the Deep State as a parasite that has hijacked the government and subverted the lawful working of our democracy.  And the more I thought about it the more convinced I became that firing, prosecuting and imprisoning the conspirators was just as important as the other priorities of the Trump administration.  All the way back to J. Edgar Hoover the FBI has been blackmailing American presidents and calling the shots behind the scenes.  After the Patriot Act, they’ve been given surveillance weapons that in concert with Democrat allies in the Courts, Media and Congress can disrupt every action of an Administration that they don’t like.

And it gets worse.  The Democrats and probably some of the imbecilic Republicans are willing to go down this road.  They used the Mueller investigation to hound out of office and even imprison men that had done nothing wrong.  They are trying to delegitimize a presidency and criminalize the normal workings of the executive branch.  Really, the only way forward in this situation is to have Barr start firing the upper echelons of all the intelligence agencies until they run out of cabalists.  And not just the first couple of rungs.  He’ll have to decimate the upper management level in order to demoralize the middle management layer enough to start getting the cooperation needed.  What is needed is a whistleblower.  And the only way to get one is to remove the senior cabalists and thus remove the fear they inspire in their subordinates.

But will Barr do it?  He worked with all of these guys for years and probably belongs to the same clubs and social organizations they do.  He probably understands their point of view and the elitist attitude that informs it.  And he probably realizes how deadly serious are the consequences of crossing these people.

But here is where I differ from those on the dissident right.  I think it will happen.  I think that we have reached a point where our side knows it’s no longer possible to kowtow to the Deep State.  I think it will happen.  Maybe heads won’t actually roll but there will be criminal indictments and convictions and powerful men will go to prison.  I think it will happen and I know it has to if we are going to remain a free nation and not an Orwellian nightmare state.

Barr has been pursuing the origins of the Russiagate scam and it appears he has managed to unravel a loose end.  If he indicts some of the middle rankers like Peter Strzok or even reaches up to McCabe that should go a long way to getting one of these rats to sing.  So, I remain hopeful.

But as I said at the beginning, nailing one of these rats is almost useless.  The whole rotten structure of the intelligence agencies has to demolished and rebuilt on a basis that recognizes the primacy of the President’s authority over it.  Without that we’ll be back where we are now sooner or later.  So right up there with “build that wall” should “drain that swamp.”
