Being Right on the Net

Google, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Amazon, PayPal, Apple, Microsoft, Kickstarter, etc., etc., etc.  The internet giants will be doing everything in their power to shut down the opposition to Dementia Joe.  They will de-platform, ban and demonetize everyone on the right they can think of.

Will this work?  No, not really.  What it will do is change the basis of how things will work going forward.  Conservatives won’t be able to free ride on the social network platforms and monetize their popularity through Google’s monolithic stranglehold on the flow of information and internet advertising.  The Right will be forced to set themselves up as Mom-and-Pop shops doing their advertising in places like Parler and Gab.  Well, so what?  That’s probably a good idea.  Being under the thumb of the Tech Giants means having to pass their ever more biased speech codes until you’d end up either sounding exactly like the Left or completely silent.

The harder challenge will be the banks and credit companies.  PayPal and some of the other e-commerce payment processors have also been cancelling out the accounts of people whose politics they don’t approve of.  The last I heard there are some alternate processors who will serve instead.  There are probably problems associated with the alternatives but right now those are the breaks.  It can be expected that the Left will continue to put pressure on these alternate providers to close ranks to try to starve out the Right.  And for that reason, in the future it should be a priority of any organized front on the Right to build up financial platforms of our own to protect us from the Left’s blockade actions.

Up until now I haven’t monetized my site at all.  I really want to find out if I have anything worth selling.  But I have noticed a few folks making the first moves to putting in paywalls around some content and accepting a few reasonable ads on their sites.  I like what the ZMan is doing.  He gives a plug for businesses that are owned by conservatives.  That makes a lot of sense.  We’re going to have to have a lot more of exactly that.

And I’ve been threatening to finish a book I’ve been working on for months.  Well, the excitement of the last couple of months has set me back at least that long but one day I’ll be peddling my opus magnum and I’ll have to decide whether I will use Amazon exclusively or try some other venue.  Maybe I’ll even have a store of my own.  We’ll see.

But the thing about all this is that it would go a lot faster and easier if we had a billionaire who had the wherewithal to set something up that catered to us.  A combination Facebook, YouTube, PayPal and Kickstarter just for the Right.  No more deplatforming, no more banning no more doxxing.  Basically, a place of our own.  And meanwhile the billionaire would make money hand over fist doing it.  Think of the merchandising and other opportunities available from having almost a monopoly over about 150 million Americans.  Now that really is worth the trouble of setting up.

If you’re reading this Mr. President think about it.  Building that would feel like a revolution all by itself.

Here’s some links for web hosting for conservatives and social media for us.

05JAN2021 – A Good Omen

So today I went on an odyssey of rediscovery.  I ventured out of the compound to get the oil changed on the older car.  I had a free oil change pass that I earned when the service station botched some expensive repairs and felt that I should be assuaged to a small degree.  So, I drove out, full of excitement, as I headed into the big city, well the, slightly larger town anyway.  And because I am twenty minutes from nowhere, I arrived in about a half hour.

I dutifully handed in my business card with the words “free oil change” and a scribbled signature on the back that was as good as gold at this locale.  And after signing here, here and initialing there I walked into the waiting room and memorized the free Wi-Fi password and sat down to see what was going on in the outside world.  And then my whole world came crashing down.  No Wi-Fi service.  Oh, the pain, the pain.

So, I started writing a screed on my laptop about fake elections and their consequences.  I began to warm to the task at hand and I invoked Chicago’s Richard Daley and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and I was just getting ready to start summoning the peasants with torches and pitchforks to begin the reckoning when another customer showed up in the waiting room.

When he walked in, we both gave the polite head nod of acknowledgement.  I began writing again but I could tell he was fidgeting about.  He announced that he was going to order the $5 car wash to go along with his other service.  I averred that it sounded like a good deal.  And off he went.  But when he returned, I could tell he had some conversation in him and after thinking for a second I thought why the hell not?  Being locked away for the last nine months how many random conversations had I had in that time?  Why the hell not?

My auto mechanic’s waiting room fellow inmate was an older fellow.  He couldn’t have been younger than seventy-five and for all I know he could be ninety.  I’d guess he was a healthy eighty-year-old.  Without much in the way of introductory remarks we began to discuss a wide range of topics, self-learning artificial intelligence, ivermectin as a treatment and prophylaxis for COVID, the security and surveillance state we live in and the appalling state of physical fitness among Americans.  I found out that my friend lived in my town and in fact lived on the same street as my daughter’s family.  I learned that he is a medical doctor interested in starting a hydroponic farm to supplement the food he currently serves at a restaurant that he owns in the area.  In addition to this I learned that like me he was born in New York City and was of Italian extraction.  And finally, after a few guarded questions we discovered that we were both of the conservative political persuasion.

Now we commiserated about the fate of conservatives living in New England and the general degradation of the American polity and we probably would still be there talking except that before we knew it my car was ready for me.  We parted on friendly terms and I promised to check out his restaurant sometime soon.  And all the way home I thought about the odds of a chance meeting on the first day out of captivity in weeks in ultra-blue southern New England being someone so obviously aligned with my world view.  The odds are very remote.  Or maybe they’re not that remote.  Maybe even in a place like this there are tons of good people left out there who are not crazy and who are working to make this world sane.

Giving up on this country is a bad idea.  Organizing the good people is the task at hand.  There are millions of us.  And even where we are not the majority, we are still a mighty force.  And that’s not just numbers.  It’s because we are the good and useful part of society and we can find a way to live the kind of life we want to live.  I’ve got to start getting out there again.  There really is a lot to see.

Some Thoughts on Religion, Organized and Otherwise

Of late I have been looking into the current state of religion in our world and more specifically in my general vicinity.  I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church and received a relatively thorough indoctrination into its tenets through a 12-year course of primary and secondary Catholic education (boys only high school with religious brothers as faculty) along with multiple members of my family in the Catholic clergy (priest and nun).  In fact, my uncle was pretty high up in the administration of a Catholic order so I got to see a bit more of the nuts and bolts of Catholic clerical hierarchy than I cared to.

From all this I have come to the conclusion that the Catholic Church rarely has much to do with God.  First of all, making unmarried men the spiritual leaders of your community is completely insane.  Some young man who has never been married and will never have children is the last person I would go to for advice and spiritual guidance when my back is to the wall.  Secondly the idea of forced celibacy on young men is also an incredibly unstable arrangement.  I’m sure there is a subset of men for whom it can work.  The idea of abstaining from sex could allow for concentration on less worldly concerns but I suspect that some form of castration would be the only practical way to eliminate the hormonal influences on a man’s mind.  And the horrors of the pedophile history of Catholic priests is all the proof I need that it is a terrible idea.  From what I’ve read celibacy is more of a business decision that the church adopted as a way of preventing nepotism from infiltrating up the hierarchy of the Church.  Originally parish priests could marry.  Only the ambitious clerics who eventually wanted to climb the ladder to monsignor, bishop or higher remained celibate in order to be considered for this advancement.

Because of this restriction the Roman Catholic hierarchy has been conquered by homosexuals all the way up to the Vatican.  The grooming of young men in the seminaries is an abomination.  Any legitimacy it may have had as the primary vehicle of Christ’s Church on earth has been completely forfeited by the sins that its priests have committed against innocent children and by the failure of its leadership to uncover these crimes and hand the criminals over to the authorities for the heaviest sentences that can be handed down.

I have of late been interested in the Orthodox Catholic denominations and the Traditionalist Catholic.  The Greek and Russian and other churches have much in common with the Roman Church and would probably be relatively familiar to me.  The lack of a celibate clergy is to my mind a big advantage.  And the liturgy would be familiar.  I will have to do a good amount of research to understand whether any of the problems of the Roman Catholic Church exist to a greater or lesser extent in the Orthodox churches.

Not having attended services to any extent in any of the protestant denominations my knowledge of their practices is based on popular information.  One of the recent innovations in some of the denominations is female clergy.  Another recent innovation is acceptance of homosexuality in the ministry and finally the sanctification of homosexual marriage.  As you might guess I won’t be interested in any sect that stands for any of that.  In fact, I won’t even get involved in any church that starts editing gender neutral wording into its Bible.  I’ll stick to the most archaic wording I can get.  King James is plenty recent enough.  If necessary, I’ll go back to the original Greek.  I can read that just fine.

I went to an article on denominational differences and put together this list of “safe” choices.  I eliminated any denominations that ordain women or sanction homosexuality in any way shape or form.  Interestingly that even knocked out the Mormons, which surprised me.  These are the sects that were left.  Adventist, Southern Baptist Convention (stopped ordaining women in 2000), Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, United Pentecostal Church International, Orthodox Presbyterian Church.  Now of course I actually need to know more about the other aspects of their beliefs.  Then I’ll have to see what local congregations exist in my neck of the woods and do a meet and greet with the ministry and find out if I fit in.

And finally, if all of these choices fall through then I have seriously considered starting my own church.  After all what did Saint Peter, Martin Luther and John Knox have that I ain’t got?  I’m just as created in God’s image as any of them and I can definitely side step a whole bunch of pitfalls that they’ve stepped in along the way.  And I sure as hell won’t be introducing celibacy into my ministry.  In fact, I think that I would require anyone thinking of leading a church to be the father of grown children and I’d use the job that he did raising them as prima facie evidence of his ability to guide his flock.  And I’d also want to meet his wife.  If she is a feminist that would be big old stop sign in my evaluation of his judgement.  And finally, I’d find out if he voted for Donald Trump.  If he didn’t, I’d boot him out and slam the door behind him.

But seriously, religion is a personal relationship between man and God.  The Bible says that the way to pray to God is to lock yourself in an empty room and talk to Him directly.  No one needs a big shiny church or a guy in a black suit to help you.  But if you can live in a community of people who have the same beliefs as you that is an enormous advantage spiritually, psychologically and physically.  And that’s the reason for my search.  I’d like to find a community.  If I have to, I’ll build it myself.  And with the COVID lockdowns I already have a beard that would do any Old Testament patriarch proud.

Hat Tip to Raconteur for Posting this Message

Here’s someone using his skills for the cause on a local basis.  Mr. Anderson wants to use his abilities as a lawyer to push back against the Left in Virginia.  Raconteur, can you leave a link for any folks living in Virginia to join the meeting?  Maybe even folks outside the state might be interested.  I know I am.

Update: I see from the text that if we are interested in the zoom we have to reply to the e-mail to get the link.  Sorry about my confusion.

Subject: Zoom Town Hall Tomorrow at 830pm

We have now watched 50 lawsuits be filed and fail challenging election results. Lawsuits are being thrown out on standing, failure to file a suit in the proper court, failure to have consent of named Plaintiffs to proceed. What is going on?

I have been practicing law for 21 years. I do not win every case. But when I am in a fight, I fight as hard as I can and minimize stupid mistakes. We are all human, but my God.. The case against a sitting Vice President by a Congressman trying to invalidate the Electoral College was rightfully thrown out because it was a garbage case. Texas suing Pennsylvania was shot down by the Supreme Court for lack of standing.

Conservatives need to start winning court battles.

I have ideas of what we can do to bring challenges in Virginia that I believe will advance conservative causes and challenge anti-constitution liberal policies and laws. My ideas will not change who becomes our next President and my ideas are realted to Virginia state issues. But the GOP must start winning in Virginia. I have won 2 cases against Demoract leadership in 2020 and I succesfully beat the first criminal charge against my client charged with open carrying a pistol in a park in Newport News in violation of the new anti-open carry ordinance passed in Newport News in 2020.

In order to win, we need to pick clear targets, strike with precision, and move on to the next fight. There are many of these fights in Virginia that should be brought. Collectively, each win gains momentum. We cannot sit and watch 50.. yes 50.. major lawsuits filed and failed on technecalities. When you file and fail, you not only lose forward momentum, you lose respect with the court and the attorneys you commonly litigate against. But most important, everytime a Democrat successfully defends a pourly filed legal challenge, THEY BUILD MOMENTUM. Ask yourself this.. Is the President BETTER or WORSE today than he was 45 days ago? Does losing 50 lawsuits help with the liberal media taking a victory lap on 24 hour news channels each time a suit gets thrown out?
We are not losing cases because of “Obama liberal judges”. We are losing because the lawyering is minor league. Lawyers more interested in becoming pop idols then actually winning cases are running the legal circus we are watching. It is embarassing.

As conservative consitutional loving Americans, we have to think SMARTER. Find fights we can win and take those proper fights to the Courts for adjudication.

Tomorrow I will discuss my vision for 2021.

If you want to join, the meeting will be at 830pm on Sunday 1/3/21. Reply to this email that you would like the link and we will send it.

A Little Clarity

The post-election limbo has been going on now for a couple of months now and I realized today that I’ve been trying to figure out how I go forward.  I guess I’ve been waiting for a resolution to the election fraud.  But at this point I don’t think an external event is what is needed.  Well, sure, if the Senate votes to throw out the fraudulent states and declares President Trump the winner that would be a hell of an event.  There would be six months of uproar to write about and pitchforks and torches would be the accessories for all the best dressed revolutionaries.

But the externals would still be just the symptoms of the underlying problem and at this point addressing that problem also requires an internal solution.  What I mean is that I have to find a way to adapt to the reality of the world around me.  And this adaption for me means optimizing my ability to live the kind of life I want to by working around the system I’m embedded in.  And part of that life I want to live is contributing to the building up and expanding of organizations and individuals that believe in what I do.

And so, I can stop holding my breath waiting for the Supreme Court or the Senate Republicans or Mike Pence to save the day and free me from my jail cell here in the Gulag.  I’ll free myself.  I’ll take action to make this a better place for people like me by direct action.  Granted the action is miniscule.  My little blog and my family and small circle of friends is so small and insignificant that not even the trolls have found me yet.  Well almost none of them.  There have been a few minor eruptions.

But the actions that I do take are enormously important to my morale.  I don’t have to wait for the resolution of anything.  I don’t have to put my life on hold for a month or a week or even a single minute.  I can write my posts about things that I think are helpful and interesting to people right now.  Whether we prevail in this election or the Democrats are allowed to steal the presidency doesn’t change the fact that there is an enormous job ahead organizing the conservative people living within the former United States of America.  I’m actually more interested in finding the name of the most conservative Christian denominations in my area than I am about which RINOs will betray us this week at the Congressional Presidential Election Confirmation.

The reason that I am writing this is because when I figured these things out it provided clarity to my thinking and it actually made me much happier than I’ve been in months.  So, I hoped that maybe somebody out there reading this might find it helpful too.

I won’t forget about politics and all the mayhem that the Left is committing all around us.  I’ll still find plenty to say about all the outrages by the enemy and the occasional victories for our side.  But I want to spend just as much time talking about things that I can do or you can do to make things better and grow our community.  There’s nothing like direct action to erase a feeling of helplessness.  Think of this little explanation/pep-talk as my direct action for the day.

30DEC2020 – OCF Update – End of Year Roundup

Well, I’ve posted my New Year’s Resolutions and now I will do a review of the site content and select my favorite photos, quotes, and posts from the last twelve months.  There are bound to be some surprises in there.  Hopefully I’ll post them today or tomorrow.  I’ll try to keep bitter irony to a minimum because it’s best to start the New Year as optimistically as humanly possible.  Hope is a flickering candle and should be protected from the cold wind of reality as well as can be.

And just to get the ball rolling on my endeavor here is the photo of the day from last January 1st.  This definitely won’t be a best of but it is the first picture of 2020.

New Year’s Resolutions for 2021

I was trying to think of some clever resolutions associated with the election but it all just sounded like rants and raves.  I guess I’m pretty much finished shaking my fist at the zombies running on the grass.  Let’s face it, unless some pretty high-powered people decide to throw their weight around, the Uniparty is going to get away with stealing the election.  But either way I don’t get to have a say about it at all.

So instead, I’m going to think about things that I can do that are meaningful and possible.

I resolve to support my children and grandchildren in every way I can.

I resolve to teach my grandkids all the useful things I know and tell them the truth about the world.  I’ll start by giving them some pointers on how to research whatever projects they think they want to accomplish.  I’ll also tell them what things I have found to be useless in order to save them some time.  I’ll give them the “so you think you want to be an engineer” speech.  And I’ll start the conversation rolling on how to attract and identify an acceptable wife.  I may recruit Camera Girl’s help in this.  After all she is a girl.

I resolve to get into the best shape I can.  Healthcare is expensive and the quality of it is decreasing rapidly.  The best way to cure health problems is to avoid them.  So, dropping some weight and adding some cardio to the weights is a good idea.  I’m buying a high-end rowing machine and when the snow makes it impossible to go walking in the woods Camera Girl and I will be pretending to row a boat through a window and across the landscape or something.  I was thinking of finding the soundtrack to Ben Hur and making a loop out of the galley slave portion of the movie.  I’ll call my workout “ramming speed.”

I resolve to get to know my neighbors at least to the point of inviting them to a cookout.  I’m sure half of them are not my political allies but at least knowing something about the people who live around you is worthwhile.  Who knows, some of them might be on our team.

I resolve to start doing some of my own home repairs.  Winters where I live are very tough on external wood surfaces of which I have an enormous area.  If I start doing some of the carpentry repairs, I can save a lot of money and money is hard to come by in the horror show that is post-America.

I resolve to investigate the local (town) Republican party club.  Who knows, maybe one of them isn’t a JEB! voter.

I resolve to finish my first science fiction novel.

I resolve to put together a usable handbook of practical rules of thumb and lists of information for people on the right to avoid the petty annoyances and more serious problems associated with living in post-America.

I resolve to increase my web traffic to 1 billion pageviews a day (more or less) and become the source for right-wing punditry.  Well, you have to dream a little bit, don’t you?

So that’s what I’ve thought of so far.  All (most) of them are easily doable and all of them will make my life better and help people I like.  Notice none of it hinges on anything to do with the 2020 election.  I will admit that the COVID nonsense will delay some of these things but eventually we will escape most of the restrictions the psychos have burdened us with.

So Happy New Year’s and here’s hoping 2021 will be a hell of a lot better than 2020.

Feel free to leave your resolutions in the comments.

A Normie Basically Admits That Force is the Only Option Left

I found this through a link on a comment on a dissident site.  I think this jibes with what I was thinking when I wrote that the deplorables are waiting for a sign.  As per the author’s direction, I have copied the text and linked it to the site.  It’s long but it is self consistent.

Open Letter from an American Coward

Please save, screenshot, etc., then boost.
I don’t usually ask for my content to be shared. What I am about to say though is perhaps the most important thing I will ever say in public, and in the present landscape of the internet, there is a very high probability that it is being silenced or erased even now as you read it. So, I am asking you to please, save an offline and/or archived copy of this letter RIGHT NOW.

If, once you’ve read this letter, you feel that it has any value or interest whatsoever, please, as a personal favor, send it on through whichever channels, to whichever people you feel safe doing so.

If you think what I say is absurd, please share my letter with your friends so you can all laugh at me.

If you think that what I say is evil, please share it with your friends so you can all rage at me.

If you think I deserve to be punished for what I say, please send my letter on to the “authorities” or to any person you think might hurt me for writing it. At least then, those people will have a chance to read it.

I am
an American, a New Hampshirewoman, a lover of liberty, and a happily married mother of four beautiful children. I have a wonderful life, a bright future, and could not ask for any greater blessing than those I have already received.

My enemies are
in a word, communists. Modern communists do not usually call themselves such. They do not talk about workers rising up and seizing the Means of Production.

Instead, modern communists adopt a rhetorical stance where they assume that all people and all property are ALREADY COLLECTIVIZED, then calmly discuss what WE should do:
– What WE should ALLOW people to own.
– What WE should ALLOW people to do.
– What WE should ALLOW people to say.
– How WE should ALLOW people to use their property.
– How WE should ALLOW people to conduct their businesses,
– … and WHO should be ALLOWED,
– … and WHERE.
– How WE should ALLOW people to raise their children.
– Who should be GIVEN which roles within society.
– etc.

The issue under discussion is always something sympathetic, something most decent people would like to see fixed: Intergenerational poverty, police brutality, environmental degradation, bigotry, violence.

But the solutions modern communists put forward are rarely passive, and they are never liberating. If a problem can be solved by individual action, voluntary charity, by the free market, or by the passage of time, that is never seen as good enough. In fact, nothing that fails to increase the power and control of governments or certain institutions (or to grow the people’s dependence on them) is ever regarded as a solution at all.

The people who do the work of modern communism, debating and voting on these “issues of the day” are mostly not aware of what they are doing. A majority of them are decent people who want real problems addressed. But their thinking is confined to a multiple choice question presented by prestige media and schools where only oppressive proposals are listed as options.

Even those higher up the food chain, the ones who create the policy proposals or set the bounds of debate around them are not usually conscious of the way they are manipulating the public. They are hobbled by a theory of history (care of the school system) where the past is merely a series of dragons slain by government policy, where everything is “systemic”, and where the free choices and conscientious actions of individuals have no meaningful effect.

This is how the enemy operates.
In order for modern communists to have the latitude to execute their plans, they need every citizen to be as weak and dependent as possible. They especially need the middle tiers of management, professions, and bureaucracy to be filled with minimally competent placeholders who owe their position to political and institutional favor. These sorts of people, since they are only able to achieve their present position through the system, are more pliable to coercion and less likely to see freedom in any aspect of life as promising or beneficial.

As a consequence, modern communists wage eternal war against every wholesome and sustainable aspect of life, society, and culture which gives people or communities strength and independence. They see it as desirable to destroy the natural optimum which people discover through freedom and competition and replace it with fragile, orchid-like solutions which could not thrive without government and/or institutional intervention:
– Those with demonstrable skills must be replaced by those with credentials.
– The self-employed must be reduced to the status of employees.
– Property must become regulated or burdened with tax and debt, and wherever possible, wealth must be rendered intangible as abstracted financial fictions constructed of laws.
– People must come to rely on government programs for security where they previously relied on themselves and each other.
– The traditional family and organic communities it forms, such as churches, must be invaded, defanged, and delegitimized to leave people at the mercy of authorities.

To a modern communist, “freedom” means the opportunity for individuals to choose some fundamentally maladaptive way of life and be protected from consequences, encouraged and subsidized by power.

The weaker you are, the more useful you are to those in power. Those who choose to be weak and dependent where they could be healthy and independent are collaborators.

This is what I see happening.
The American public has come to accept all the components of totalitarian states.
– We have come to accept a militarized police.
– We have come to accept ideological indoctrination in schools.
– We have come to accept mass surveillance.
– We have come to accept speech codes.
– We have come to accept the rewriting of history to serve the interests of the ruling party.
– We have come to accept the tarring of political dissidents as “terrorists”, “extremists”, and “White Supremacists.”
– We have come to accept the State telling us when and where we can meet.
– We have come to accept the State shutting down our places of worship.
– We have come to accept the idea that parents should have no special authority over their children.
– We have come to accept the manipulation of thought through the manipulation of language.
– We have come to accept the radical reordering of society by government in the name of crisis.

In the 2016 election, the full-throated manipulation by the mainstream press, academia, and the political establishment was so intense, and so obvious, that many people (myself included) who did not consider themselves “conservative” voted for Donald Trump just to poke a finger in the eye of Leviathan. So many people did so that his margin of victory exceeded the margin of cheat, and he was actually able to become president.

In the intervening years, the modern communists of both parties (though more so the Democrats) and those same media and academia mandarins have only doubled down on their commitment to subjugating the public and clamping down on our personal freedom and political prerogatives. Somehow, in losing electorally, we are to believe that their mandate for runaway collectivism and authoritarianism was strengthened.

Now, in the 2020 election, the fraud and manipulation became so glaringly obvious that, at the time of writing, at least 47% of all Americans, regardless of party loyalty, understand that the election was stolen and Joe Biden is illegitimate. Somehow though, it is still a long shot that Donald Trump, the person who has done more to expose the mendacity and incompetence of the ruling party and institutions than anyone else, will be seated as President.

Every one of those Americans who understands this must realize that this is it. This is the last moment for the American Republic, the last time we will even have a glimmer of a chance of an honest election result, and the last time any opposition to modern communism will be afforded space in the public square. And yet, neither I nor most of you are going to do anything about this situation that might risk our present status or comfort.

This is why I won’t yet act.
Unfortunately for me, the crisis has come either too late or too early. Our family has four young children, a single income, and a base of assets which could be easily lost but probably never replaced. We are maximally vulnerable to the sorts of attacks which collectivists bring against those who fight back.

Even so, if the fight were on, if the majority of Americans who this past election shows are opposed to creeping collectivism were on the march, I would risk it all to join them. No comfort, no wealth, not even life itself is as important as preserving the possibility of human freedom. The hive-society prison which is being built around us must be demolished at any cost.

But when I look around me, I see many people who are paralyzed as I am. We know that the fight for our republic is unavoidable, and that the time is now, but do not see a nucleus of resistance to which we can pledge our lives, fortunes, and sacred honors without it being tantamount to suicide. We are watching and waiting for someone else to be that nucleus.

Most people who have not committed to the cause of freedom are not conscious supporters of modern communism. Some hold out the futile hope that things will all go back to normal, others have convinced themselves that what is happening is inevitable and cannot be opposed. Both are dead wrong. As open struggle against collectivism, communism, authoritarianism, and globalism rises, both of these positions will weaken, and support for freedom will grow.

If you have the courage to act where I do not,
here is what I WILL do:

– If you speak out against them, I will listen.
– If you act against them, I will not stand in your way.
– If they portray you as uncool, cringey, old-fashioned, unintelligent, or low-class, I will not laugh at you or think less of you.
– If they call you a racist, sexist, xenophobe, homophobe, Nazi, granny killer, etc., I will not believe them, nor will I care.
– If they call you a terrorist or an extremist, I will not assume that you are in the wrong.
– When they ask me questions, I will lie, forget, or evade as I am able.
– When they tell me their version of history, I will smile and nod and know they are liars.
– If they dispossess you, I will share what I can.
– If they martyr you, my children will learn your name as that of a hero.
– If you have the courage to be shameless in opposing them, you will be honored in my house.

This is what I will remember.
1.
The universities and the class of “experts” and “professionals” to whom they grant legitimacy have no constitutional role in the American Republic. No amount of schooling grants one authority over others, and no consensus among the educated should have the force of law.

2. The guarantee in the Constitution of “Freedom of the Press” is not a grant of authority to the legacy media or to professional journalists. It is, in fact, a right belonging to the people: WE have the right to publish and disseminate views and information the same as those who work for newspapers or television networks.

3. The Intelligence and Defense establishments of the US exist to secure the rights and liberties of the American people. The US has constructed a vast apparatus to deploy force, subvert or overthrow governments, and disseminate propaganda, but these activities are only legitimate when they are directed OUTWARD. When the geopolitical capabilities of the US government do not act to empower the American people and sustain our Constitution, they are just as criminal as the same actions taken by private citizens.

4. Law enforcement and defense against violence is the responsibility of each and every person. Even though we have become accustomed to having these services provided by professionals, they remain our right and our personal responsibility.

  1. Education of the young is the responsibility of parents and natural communities. Even though we have become accustomed to having this service provided by professionals, it remains our right and our personal responsibility.
  2. Provision of necessities such as food and shelter is the responsibility of each and every person. Even though we have become accustomed to these goods being delivered by a vast and interconnected economic machinery over which we have little control, it remains our right and our duty to provide for ourselves and those we care about.

7.Though peace, prosperity, happiness, and a long life are all wonderful conditions to experience, they are not what makes a human life worthwhile. Humans have dignity and value insofar as they are free agents struggling and striving to obtain these ends. “Treating someone as a human being” does not mean coddling them and providing for them like you would a child or a pet. It means getting out of their way and leaving them the freedom and latitude to provide for themselves.

    8. Whoever relinquishes their freedom to obtain comfort or security is not acting as a human, but as an animal. Because our fates are all intertwined, such a person is betraying all of us, and does not deserve our concern or regard.

25DEC2020 – OCF Update – Merry Christmas All You Wonderful People Out There!

As is now emblematic of 2020, this morning was as weird as any other day of the year.  Freight train winds rattled the house and frightened the dogs.  Torrential rains melted the foot of snow that was on the ground and roofs yesterday.  The little steam that feeds the pond is a raging torrent this morning and is swelling it up beyond it’s normal shores.  I wouldn’t be surprised if the spring peepers woke up and started singing.  Somehow the power hasn’t flickered and the internet connection is still intact.  But yes, it’s more of the good old 2020 pandemonium rolling along.

But Camera Girl is un-phased.  Potatoes are boiled and mashed.  The roast and the ham are in the oven.  The cakes and pies are baked.  The kids’ presents are wrapped (I helped with that!). The rolls are baked, the side dishes are cooked and the house is clean.  The various Christmas cookies are loaded into cookie jars and the table is set.

And right on cue the winds are dying down and the rain is down to a gentle tapping on the roofs.  The kids will be here in a few hours and we’ll have some fun.

Wherever you are I hope you get at least a little enjoyment from Christmas 2020.  These aren’t exactly the best of times but they are our times and we have to make of them what we can.

Merry Christmas to all of you folks out there and we’ll take what comes and try to make it better.

23DEC2020 – OCF Update – Christmas Holiday Notes

Well, that last post ( The Deplorables Are Waiting for a Sign ) must have hit a nerve.  I think a whole lot of people are just as fed up.  And as I said I think they’re right.  Words aren’t going to change anything so what’s the use of a lot of talk.

So I think I’ll take a couple of days and enjoy some really splendiferous food out of Camera Girl’s kitchen and spend some time with the family and think a little bit before I pontificate.  In the absence of a successful action to send Creepy Uncle Joe back to the cracker factory I think that local actions will be the only things that do any good.

I may have some reviews and maybe some links if anything good shows up but I’ll spend the next couple of days enjoying life.  I hope you do too.

Merry Christmas
