A Red-Pilled America

What happens when everyone knows the country is rigged?  What is lost when half the country thinks they’ve witnessed the end of honest presidential elections?  I have to assume that Joe Biden thinks the answer to those two questions is nothing.  And maybe he’s right.  After all, he’s still president, the FBI has the dissidents from January 6th tucked away in prison and he’s just hired 87,000 new IRS agents to punish that half of the country who don’t like him.  And maybe he’s planning to stage a repeat performance on election day this year.  But if he believes that I think he’s wrong.

I think one of America’s greatest strengths was the belief by a large majority of its citizens that this was an honest place where the rules were followed and the will of the people was abided by.  I think the belief in that provided the leaders with enormous legitimacy which the American people would rally around when an emergency or crisis required them to unify their efforts and make sacrifices.  Probably the greatest example was World War II.  Our fathers selflessly signed up for the war in the millions even before the draft was initiated.  They sacrificed their lives to protect their country in a tremendous show of patriotism.

On a smaller scale a similar wave of patriotic zeal swept over the country after 9/11/2001.  Even pacifists and socialists rallied round the flag and supported the war and the actions that had to be taken to protect the country.  We even sacrificed some of our freedoms by supporting the Patriot Act.  So, belief in the legitimacy of the government and trust in the honesty of our leaders was a big part of why the United States was a tremendous force in the world.  We believed we were the real deal.

So that’s all gone.  Tens of millions of Americans now know that the government is run by dishonest men.  The FBI and the other intelligence agencies might as well be the mafia as far as their brutality and dishonesty is concerned.  We’ve seen judges, federal law enforcement and other deep state actors conspire to spread lies, arrest and jail innocent men and harass and obstruct the orders of our duly elected officials.  And soon over a hundred million Americans and maybe more will be convinced that this country is now corrupt and ruled by an oligarchy that will do and say whatever it takes to hold onto power.

But so what?  What practical effect will this have on America?  Well, I think it’s already having a large effect on this country.  I think the world knows we’re no longer a united country.  I think that’s why Russia, China and a growing number of countries are beginning to break away from the global economic order that we have established.  And that’s part of the reason that our economy is beginning to flounder.  The dollar isn’t as strong as it once was.  And our friends and enemies no longer look at us in the same way.  They know we’re not as strong militarily because no one will rally round the flag any longer.  Who would lay down his life for an illegitimate government that hates him?  No one.

And this is just the beginning.  Biden has plenty more damage he wants to do.  Unchecked illegal immigration and FBI sponsored inner city crime is now a permanent reality.  As the economy deteriorates, confiscatory tax policies will surely follow to keep the government afloat.  So as public support for the government sinks our stature in the world will diminish accordingly.  Even third rate countries like Iran and Venezuela will stop fearing us and begin flouting our orders.

And that will be just a reflection of the way Americans feel about their own government.  Basically, they no longer respect it.  They only fear it.  And as we saw with the Soviet Union, even a government that controls its people through a reign of terror will eventually grind itself down to nothing through loss of legitimacy.

It’s hardly a point of pride that the Democrats will ultimately destroy their own power by debasing the United States but it does provide hope that once they crash the economy even massive voter fraud may be insufficient to keep them in office.  At that point it may be possible to salvage the country.

Spin the Wheel and Take Your Chance

Yesterday I allowed myself to bask in the warmth of what a complete conservative victory in America would be like.  And honestly, it must have been something I wanted to indulge in at that moment.  Just thinking of the world restored to normalcy was intoxicating.  But indulging in a narcotic that strong is dangerous.  Fentanyl is for thoracic surgery not as an apéritif.  So please excuse my recent indulgence and let’s talk about something a little less fantastical.

For the last couple of weeks, the daily polls of Creepy Joe’s approval ratings have been steadily rising.  And the pages of Politico and the Atlantic have been full of stories about how the mid-terms are starting to look like a Democrat come back story, full of redemption, angry women and Trump hatred.  And so, the usual spineless Republicans are wringing their hands and running in circles.  So familiar.

Well, I guess this isn’t my first rodeo clown circus.  I love how the mantra of these weak-kneed types is, “Renounce Trump!”  They must feel if we disown the devil, the angel of death won’t enter our house and we’ll survive the curse.  Fascinating.

But I feel quite the opposite.  Just bring it on.  Let them do their worst.  Raid Mar-a-Lago, cancel college debt, declare marshal law, auto-tune Joe Biden and put him on TikTok, whatever they want.  Now is the time for us to find out if there’s any hope of the American people waking up or not.  Runaway inflation, recession, Hunter Biden, Ukraine, Afghanistan, COVID tyranny and COVID incompetence.  You name it.  No one has seen an administration as incompetent and just plain weird in the entire history of the United States.  If we can’t win in this environment then we never will.

So, no whining, no bland middle of the road waffling.  We need to fly our colors and let the chips land as they may.  If we’re able to take back the Senate then we must stiff Biden’s appointments and investigate everything that went on over the last two years.  An impeachment over the laptop evidence is a no brainer.  And the details of this trial will be must see tv.  Hunter’s former business partner has already stated on the record that Joe Biden was “the big guy” who was skimming ten percent of the revenues.  That alone should be enough to convince most of the American people that they have a crook in the White House and not a very smart crook at that.

And the investigation into the origins and the mishandling of the COVID fiasco should put an end to many political careers.  There currently seems to be ample proof that the vaccines weren’t safe or effective and yet politicians and medical bureaucrats pushed them on people as if they were.  These actions demonstrate a level of dishonesty and recklessness that should shock the citizens of this country when they’re revealed.

And there are a hundred other things going on that should be investigated.  Afghanistan is a national disgrace.  Their energy policy is disastrously stupid.  The transgender policy on minors is horrific.  And on and on and on.

And what if we lose?  If we don’t take the House then there is no hope.  Even if we take the House but don’t recapture the Senate, I will consider that the Dissident Right is correct and we can’t vote our way out of this hole we’re in.  That will be a bleak outcome.

But knowing the truth no matter how depressing is preferable to basing your life on a delusion.  At least the truth allows you to stop wasting time and resources on pipe dreams and instead try to sidestep some of the damage coming your way.  And it allows you to look for Plan B whatever you decide that may be.  So we’re less than seventy days to the election.  Bring it.

Word is Chuck Todd is Being Bounced from Meet the Press

Now this is a nice little present.  Up-Chuck Todd, as a friend of mine calls him, has a voice and face that practically shout “smarmy weasel” to anyone watching him.  Now, I know they’ll just replace him with another weasel but seeing this lying sack of crap crash and burn is extremely gratifying.  Maybe having no viewers is finally causing them some pain.

Well, every little bit helps.  But between Jeffrey Toobin, Brian Stelter and Chucky boy I guess that could be considered a hat trick.  Not bad for a Tuesday.

What Will the Other Side Look Like?

America is reaching a fork in the road.  Two mutually exclusive visions of the future are jockeying for control of the United States.  If the Left wins it will be a ghastly spectacle.  Basically, the whole country will become California.  Nothing honest or normal will be allowed anywhere.  Gavin Newsome will be declared president for life and that fat bald guy in the admiral skirt will win the Miss America contest every year.  The rest of the details will be too gruesome to want to predict and chances are I’ll have to emigrate to Hungary.

But what if we win?  Now that would be fun to speculate about.  So, I think I will indulge in a daydream of what could be the future if we don’t lose again.

I guess we’ll have to start by deciding how we would “win.”  Let’s suppose that we retake the House and Senate in November and by 2024 things are so bad that we not only take back the presidency but we end up with a filibuster proof majority in the Senate.  Then with the assistance from the Supreme Court we use several decisions to strip away all the unconstitutional regulations that have hamstrung American freedoms in the last fifty years.

Think about it.  If the affirmative action, gay marriage and gay rights decisions are overturned then more than half the country will be free to live normal lives again.  The government will no longer have the power to tell you who to hire, who to rent your apartment to or who you have to bake a wedding cake for.  Not only that, but the government will have lost the basis under which they currently judge all our decisions.  In fact, I think it might make sense for the government to get out of the business of even collecting racial data on its people all together.  After all, the government is supposed to be color blind.  Well then, let it be entirely so.  As for what else would change I think about thirty states would end gay marriage.  A few others might allow it but disallow adoption of children by homosexuals.  And some states would re-criminalize homosexuality.

But after what has gone on over the last ten or so years, I like to think that the biggest change would be the revocation of the Patriot Act and the yanking of the FBI’s teeth.  The weaponization of the intelligence agencies against the American people has been a horror show that has no equal in our history.  Seeing the things that have been done by the last few Attorneys General and their henchmen has been gut wrenching.  And even that isn’t enough.  I think most of the federal judges appointed by Obama and Biden must be reviewed and the ones who were willing conspirators with the FBI must be impeached, convicted and removed by the Congress.  And the unholy alliance between the Tech companies and the Surveillance state must be busted up.

Also, the federal bureaucracy must be brought back under the control of the executive branch of the government.  In other words, the President must have discretion to remove any employee that obstructs the Administration’s lawful management of the executive branch.

The government must return to producing an annual budget for the federal government.  All these stop gap funding measures and endless multi-trillion-dollar deficits must stop.  We’re rapidly reaching the point where our currency will lose its stability and lose its value.

And finally, if America first leadership reasserts itself, we can hope to see the return of manufacturing to our shores.  And with it would come massive employment opportunities and more importantly hope and optimism.  So, there’s the dream.  If we win all these things become possible.

Sure, it’s a pipe dream.  I figure there’s a one in a hundred chance of all that happening.  The likelier outcome is the current stalemate going on for years to come.  But every once in a while, it feels good to indulge in a bout of unbridled enthusiasm.  So please forgive this outburst and I return you to the miasma of hopelessness already in progress.

Give the Left What It Says It Wants

The recent bus service from Texas to New York City and Washington DC that Governor Abbott initiated got me thinking.  It sort of aligns with the idea of acceleration that is popular with some on the Dissident Right.  The idea is to accelerate the crazy ideas that the Left favors in order to let reality crash the system sooner.  The thought is that hitting bottom is the only way to convince the stupid that their beliefs are irrational.

I have mixed feelings about the accelerationist theory.  Hitting bottom seems like a particularly dangerous place to be.  I’m not sure some of these “bottom” conditions can be reversed.  For instance, if Biden allows another fifty million illegal aliens to invade the country, I’m not sure it will be possible to repair that kind of damage short of some horrific violence that might finish the country off altogether.

But the example of the bus rides points to a different kind of acceleration.  If the damage can be restricted to blue states, then maybe the actions will serve a purpose.  Suppose the bus rides were extended to other groups that aren’t wanted in the Red States.  For instance, imagine if the homeless could be persuaded to move to California.  And the same could extend to prison inmates.  Their sentences could be commuted if they agreed to leave the red states permanently.  After all New York and California have been pioneering the concept of emptying the prisons and eliminating criminal convictions.  It only makes sense to send career criminals where their talents can be put to their best effect.

I haven’t gone through all the accelerationist scenarios that could be handled this way but I’m sure it could be quite interesting to play this thought experiment.  Maybe there could even be some kind of negotiations to get certain corporations to move out of state.  Or more realistically, provide a carrot and stick approach for companies (and universities) based on whether they engage in anti-social behavior like white guilt struggle sessions and EDI propaganda.  Hefty fines for each infraction would quickly make these companies weigh whether their policies were more important than relocating.  As a practical example, Ron DeSantis has recently tweaked Disney by eliminating their self-governing status in Florida.  It will be interesting to see if further “lessons” influence Disney’s propensity for condemning conservative laws and programs in Florida.  Changing their behavior would be a major victory.

Obviously, my poor efforts are woefully insufficient to evaluate just how many similar ideas could be identified.  Governors and legislatures are the right ones to do it.  Imagine if Washington DC could be inundated with a million illegal aliens and a hundred thousand freed felons.  Joe Biden would probably have to roll out the razor wire and call back the National Guard to keep his friends from defecating on his lawn, stealing the catalytic converter on his bomb proof limousine and spray painting, “Let’s Go Brandon” on the side of the West Wing.

Well anyway, that’s what I thought about this evening.  You see, I can be constructive if I try.  It doesn’t always have to be doom and gloom.  We can have fun once in a while too.

Scientists Say Conservatives Happier Than Liberals. Duh!

Apparently believing that dysfunction is normal and good is evil isn’t conducive to peace of mind.  I guess trying to see that two plus two equals five all the time must hurt their brains.  Well there is the consolation that these people are at least scared and miserable.  Now if we can find a way to prevent them from inflicting their madness upon us we’ll be ecstatic.

How To Thrive in the Banana Republic of America – Part 1

This essay and its title are more for a research project than a how-to pamphlet.  I think this gets to the essence of what all of us will have to figure out to survive in where this country is headed.  We have to figure out how to provide ourselves and our families with the things they need and want without having to compromise our self-respect and even our sanity.

As a for instance, what if you want to become a professional.  If you desire to be a medical doctor, you’ll have to be indoctrinated in the various fictions that currently apply to the medical profession.  You may be forced to approve of a pre-teen boy being castrated and having the rest of his genitalia amputated and put on estrogen to satisfy his mother’s desire to turn him into a girl.  If you want to be a lawyer you may have to festoon your office with rainbow paraphernalia and attend galas for the LGBTQ mafia and even then, you’ll probably be passed over for promotion because you’re just a straight white guy.  Even engineers are called upon by their employers to parrot mantras about white privilege, white supremacy and toxic masculinity at all the company gatherings in order to show management that they are aligned with the prevailing orthodoxy.

But even if you don’t work in corporate America the regime is going farther and farther to impinge on the life and prosperity of all those who won’t burn incense to Caesar.  California is legislating the end of gasoline engines for automobiles starting in 2035.  New York has criminalized the use of “gender specific language” in all business documents.  They are very purposefully criminalizing normal life.

The details of all this vary from place to place but you can see that they are casting a very wide net and will tighten it as time goes on.  Those 87,000 new IRS employees are there for a reason.  They will be there to punish the enemies of the regime where it hurts the most; in their bank accounts.

It will be of the utmost importance to identify the strategies and tactics needed to avoid the worst of the consequences.  But it is obvious that the only way to thrive in such an environment is to locate the most sympathetic local regimes that will help protect you from the full brunt of the Leftist system.

For instance, Florida is setting itself up as a refuge against woke-ism and other leftist problems.  With Ron DeSantis as governor and with a Republican legislature they have enacted laws to prevent transgender medical malpractice against juveniles.  Likewise, they have gone after critical race theory (CRT) in the public schools.  These kinds of initiatives are exactly what is needed to allow people to survive under the Biden regime.

And I think the most progress against banana republicanism will occur when several states coordinate their policies to prevent the federal programs from strangling the freedoms of Americans living in those states.  All of this may lead up to a showdown between these states and the feds.

But in reality, I don’t think anyone really knows how or even if we can make life in the former United States of America somewhat free and honest.  Even those on the Dissident Right who talk about the “revolution” have no idea what, if anything, that means.  We’re all so horrified and disgusted by what is going on we just assume that somehow it will have to turn around.  And that is where we are probably wrong.  Assuming that the pendulum will reverse direction anytime soon is probably wishful thinking.  After all, representative government took fifteen hundred years to return to Western Civilization.  There’s no reason to think it will happen in one hundred years this time.

Hopefully when I write the second installment of this essay, I’ll have some more practical points to contribute but I think identifying the need to look for these strategies has merit in and of itself.  Feel free to provide anything you’ve thought of on this topic in the comments.

The ZMan Explains How Gaia Hates Plastic Bags

The ZMan tells the story of how his local Wegman’s has compelled him to honor Gaia and stop using plastic bags.  This amusing tale is the green revolution writ small.  And honestly it’s probably the least crazy part of the whole movement.  Plastic has become so ubiquitous in our lives that we no longer even think about it.  Paper bags or even reusable bags might make sense.  But square this with the behavior that occurred during the COVID crisis when reusable anything was suspected of killing old people.

It’s obvious that “science” is not what’s going on with these decisions.  We’re being ruled by cultists who don’t understand the reality behind the narratives.  But read the story for ZMan’s trademark humor and bile.

The Paper Bag Test

Cry Havoc and Let Slip the Puppies of War

So, what to write about today?  Creepy Uncle Joe buying votes in the mid-terms by canceling student loans?  Meh.  Handicapping the mid-terms?  Boring.  Now there were a few headlines that caught my attention.  Donald Trump implores the senate Republicans to dump Mitch McConnell as leader when they take back the Senate.  Now that’s a great headline.  And it’s good advice.  But what’s there to say about it other than it’s a good idea.

And my current personal projects aren’t really that universal in their appeal.  Right now I’m trying to learn enough PHP and MySQL coding to automate some very time-consuming changes to my website.  The book I’m working from is about a thousand pages long and I’ve just gotten past the introduction so it’ll be a tough slog.

I haven’t read or watched any interesting stories in the last few days.  And I’m way behind on my photo work and the fiction writing.  The whole system is falling apart.

So, what’s causing all this havoc?  Well, we’ve been overrun for the last week (and will be into next week) with grandkids.  The little devils have successfully invaded the Compound and are monopolizing Camera Girl’s time.  Worse still they’ve subjugated me too.  When I’m not overseeing their infestation of the swimming pool, I’m forced to play chess with one of them or read stories to another.  And they even have me ferrying them around to the neighboring towns for tennis practice or school open house or whatever.

Actually, it’s kind of great.  My third oldest grandson is becoming a pretty decent pool player and a very good chess player to boot.  And tonight, my little granddaughter asked for three extra bedtime stories from her old grandfather instead of from Camera Girl.  It seems that she likes the same stories I read to her mother more than thirty years ago.

Really the only downside to all this babysitting is the lack of time.  It turns out I really do need time to write the stuff I post here.  There’s no way to multi-task while you’re refereeing young children at play.  They’re just too dynamic and need to be monitored pretty closely to prevent bickering from exploding into fisticuffs.  I have to rule with an iron fist.  Well, it’s probably more like a lot of haranguing by me but you get the idea.

But honestly, the political scene is just status quo.  After the FBI’s gestapo tactics against Trump there’s not much to say.  We know where things stand and we’re just waiting to see whether the electorate repudiates the Democrats or acquiesces in our new status as a banana republic.  So that just leaves me cultural and general interest topics to write about until the feds do something even more outrageously unconstitutional.

And of course, that’s bound to happen in the next week or so.  Biden is desperate to change the story away from runaway inflation.  He’ll attempt to bribe some other constituency with another illegal executive order.  The only question is whether it’ll be transgender polo players or normalizing monkey pox at America’s gay bath houses.  So, bear with me.  Things will return to normal soon and I’ll be back to decrying civilizational collapse again before you know it.

Will America Pass the Test?

We live in troubled times.  Many very strange ideas are loose in the world.  For the last hundred years or so Western Civilization has become increasingly unstable.  And now most of the first world has embraced its own destruction.  The idea of eliminating the majority of humanity from the planet in pursuit of some ecological paradise is a common philosophy among millennials.  And the belief that subsistence conditions that include eating bugs and giving up mobility and things like climate-controlled homes is being promulgated by the government and “thought leaders.”

I think we will find out very soon whether the majority of our countrymen agree with these ideas.  After all we are a “democracy” or something like one.  If the ayes have it, we’ll get bugs and electric cars.  But something leads me to believe that the whole world won’t succumb to this plan.  I have to believe that there remains a substantial group of people that aren’t fools and know that human ingenuity is substantially more capable of overcoming problems than what’s currently on display from the “green revolution” crowd.

I guess the question will be where will that ingenuity be allowed to flourish.  Up till recently the United States was the premiere center of innovation.  And we were also a magnet for entrepreneurs from across the world who were looking for a chance to pioneer new concepts in everything from robotics to medicine.  But now this trend is reversing.  Many innovators are returning home to their own countries to launch new companies and build factories.  Places like China and India are rejecting the green revolution in response to the need to reap the benefits of twentieth century technology that was made possible by fossil fuel powered industry.

Wind mills and solar panels are being deployed in the West but the rest of the world is burning coal, oil and natural gas.  And if things continue in the direction they’re going, eventually nuclear power plants will also become a common sight in the non-Western countries.  When that happens where will the center of innovation be located?

That’s the main question.  Which culture will have the confidence to continue the legacy that the Western World has already bequeathed to humanity?  What a strange thought that maybe in fifty years Europe and North America will be living in some kind of post-modern poverty with a marginal economy based on some socialist model while some currently third world country takes the lead and raises the standard of living of their people even higher than what we currently enjoy.

Strange or not, it might be the future.  I’m far from confident that Americans will come to their senses and demand better for their children than the message of deprivation and mediocrity that we’re being fed by the Democrats and their corporate allies.  We’re currently at a very critical juncture in our history.  We’ve recently been given a vision of energy prices becoming unsustainable while the government is using huge subsidies to convince Americans to buy electric cars.  And at the same time foods like meat and milk are also becoming prohibitively expensive.  This would be the time for angry consumers to lash out at the Democrats and punish them at the polls.  But what if they don’t?

That would tell me that the old America is gone for good and the current crop will be led by the nose to whatever fate the elites have planned for them.  And that will be a good time to start looking around and figure where the new center of human flourishing will end up.

I hope we don’t fail this test.  My whole world is anchored to this country.  All my relatives and especially my descendants are all here.  I want them to be part of the best society on the planet.  And so, I pray there are still enough people with common sense to keep us on the right track and moving into the future.  But from where I’m standing it looks like a fifty-fifty shot.
