Howie Carr Wants to Know if the MAGA Hat Victim Will Get the Star Treatment Like Jussie

Up here in New England we had a non-fake hate crime involving a MAGA hat wearing individual.  But up here he was the victim.  You’ve probably heard of the illegal immigrant from Brazil that attacked someone wearing the hat.   Howie Carr is a local reporter who loves this stuff.  He goes into loving detail and asks when will the victim be on Good Morning America like Jussie.  Now ICE is going to deport her.  Does it get better than that?

Vox Day Links to an Interesting Article About the Methodists Rejecting Gay Marriage and Clergy

It seems that the only thing that prevented the changes was that the African delegates were unafraid to say that these changes did not reflect the Christian message.  Unexpected consequences of the left’s favorite buzz words diversity and globalism.

Thoughts on the Smollett Travesty

As with everyone else I’ve been amused by the level of dishonesty on exhibit by the various Progressive participants in this farce.  At the primary level we have Smollett and his Nigerian-American assistants who faked an attack and made a false police report.  They sparked a spate of politician and celebrity condemnations of President Trump, republicans, and in general, anyone who doubted the story.

At the secondary level we have all of these defenders of Smollett who even after the Chicago police confirmed Smollett’s part in the event refused to condemn him.  This is despite the testimony of the brothers who assisted him in the hoax.  They still doubt his culpability, preferring to doubt the police testimony rather than face reality about their ally.

And finally, at the tertiary level we have the media which has gone to great lengths to provide support for Smollett and his defenders in an ever-changing narrative for why all of this is President Trump’s fault.  Initially, the story was that President Trump’s supporters were the attackers.  Then we were told that background levels of racism were what inspired Smollett to exaggerate this particular incident.  And now the story says that the real victims are those poor future victims of racism who won’t be believed because of this present event.

But just as interesting is looking at the way the various voices on the Right have looked at it.  One of the more interesting discussions came from the Z-Man.  http://thezman.com/wordpress/?p=16618

His main point was that the Left isn’t going to acknowledge their error and they aren’t going to learn a lesson.  That is why a long string of hoaxes will never lead to an apology from the Left.  And that is why right-wing pundits hoping to reason with the Left are wasting their time.

Perhaps the only useful thing that can happen during one of these events is to help sort out the real allegiance of those in the middle.  When some allegedly neutral party starts telling us not to judge or excuses the hoax based on historical oppression you’ve learned something.  On the other hand, if you ever find an assumed leftist who finally sees the light you’ve probably found a normie who has finally had enough hypocrisy.

Interestingly, even someone who in the last few years has been vilified by the Alt-Right as the epitome of Never-Trump foolishness can be acknowledged for a sensible insight into the phoniness of these leftist hoaxes.  Here Vox Day acknowledges that even Jonah Goldberg can provide a sensible argument to show the absurdity of these hoaxes.  https://voxday.blogspot.com/2019/02/the-obvious-implication-of-hoax-crimes.html

The only way I can see good coming from all these events is if someone made a movie out of all these hoax exposures and let it be distributed as widely as possible.  Of course, Hollywood and the media companies would never allow their distribution network to show it and the colleges would probably unleash antifa on any student groups that attempted to show it on campus but even internet access would be something useful.  It really is remarkable how outrageous some of these phony hate crimes are.

I wonder what the next one will be.

Trump Should Get to Pick the Next Trump

Listening to the Powerline interview of Michael Anton.  The interviewer asked a very  salient question.  Who comes after Trump?  Anton said maybe Senator Cotton might be the closest to Trump in policy position, but that nobody else had the loyalty of the Deplorables the way President Trump does.  And that is true.  And also Trump is the one with the instincts to know who is real and who is “fake.”  I’ve said this before but it bears repeating as we progress through President Trump’s term in office.  He needs to be the one to anoint his successor.

I think it will be very interesting to see if Mike Pence will be his running mate in 2020.  I think Pence probably will be but I wouldn’t be shocked if he weren’t.  President Trump has a great responsibility to try to extend the time during which changes to the troubled status-quo can occur.  Sixteen or even twenty four years is only a part of the time that is needed to repair the damage that has already been done to the Republic.  We need to think of even eight years of reform as just the start of what must be done if we expect normalcy to ever recover.  We need a string of Trump like presidents just to get back to zero.

Sounds impossible.  But stranger things have happened.  Meanwhile hopefully Trump is already thinking about who his successor will be in five years.

Michael Anton is Interviewed on Powerline

Michael Anton wrote the Flight 93 election back in 2016 and he is one of the people who recognized how important it was to beat Hillary Clinton.  He has served in the Trump White House and he is a Claremont guy.  I think he is one of the smarter guys out there and he’s on our side.  I found this podcast very interesting.

Trump Announces Rosenstein’s Replacement

Everything takes forever in Washington.  Now it’ll be a month until we have Rosenstein’s replacement in place.  Rosen is currently Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation.  I hope President Trump has some feel good stuff coming up soon because I haven’t seen any winning in a while and I’m getting bored.

18FEB2019 – American Greatnesss Post of the Day – Foggy Crossroads by Angelo Codevilla

Codevilla reviews what he thinks the choices are for President Trump.  Either deliver the Wall and Immigration Law enforcement or lose in 2020.  He also discusses the bi-party ruling class and what part they play in our awful politics.  No surprises here.  Just the outline of what to look for going into the coming election cycle.

Foggy Crossroads

16FEB2019 – OCF Update

This has been a pretty eventful week compared to the preceding few.  William Barr was approved as the new Attorney General.  The President has declared a National Emergency on the southern border and expressed his intention to use that declaration to build a wall on the border.  The useless Congress has produced a bloated awful budget document.  The President continues to chip away at the Obama legacy such as the “disparate impact” criterion by which even good legislation is made worse.  Amazon has reneged on their decision to put a headquarters in New York City, much to the sorrow of Mayor De Blasio and Governor Cuomo (they really need the tax dollars) but much to the delight of that dingbat Ocasio-Cortez.  Even the Chicago Police Department couldn’t acquiesce in Jussie Smollett’s lies about being attacked by MAGA quoting noose brandishing hooligans and seem to have identified the alleged attackers as a Nigerian actor on the show Empire and his brother.  Another four or five Democrats have declared their 2020 Presidential race aspirations.  One of them, Elizabeth Warren was mocked mercilessly by Howie Carr in the Boston Herald because of her ongoing exposure as a lying hypocrite who used her fake native American ethnicity as a ticket to the Harvard Law School faculty and thereby fame, fortune and a senate seat.

I have some more winter photos and I’m embarking on a project in astrophotography.  And because this is Orion’s Cold Fire my first subject will be in the constellation of Orion and I’ll use the Orion 10010 Atlas Pro AZ/EQ-G Computerized GoTo Telescope Mount to track with.  I’m very excited but full of trepidation over the time needed to master the equipment side of it.

On the review side I’ll continue to plow through the Twilight Zone and I’m a third of the way through the latest Galaxy’s Edge volume (Retribution) and will review it when completed.

Now I’m off to my grandson’s basketball game.  Have a nice Saturday everybody.

The Z-Man Addresses Fraternal Isolation

This post is along the same lines as my ideas about the need for a new fraternal organization.

Without a doubt the isolation is one of the biggest penalties we are paying for allowing leftists to destroy our society.  Reading this reinforces my belief that starting something new is the way forward.
