Crushing the Coup is Not Optional

Last Monday I put up a post about Matt Taibbi’s article on the “permanent coup” going on inside the Deep State against President Trump.  On Friday I was listening to the Voice of Saruman (aka the ZMan) on his weekly podcast and at minute 35 he had a segment on The Permanent Coup!  It was his thoughts on Taibbi’s article.  The ZMan read a good chunk of the article aloud and then gave his take on it.  I think he said just about what I said agreeing with Taibbi.  Apparently great minds think alike.  Well, on some things anyway.  Basically, the premise is if the security state gets to decide who can be president then we’re already in a post-democratic country and it’s only a matter of time before the peasants grab their torches and pitchforks.  The ZMan took things a little farther than I did and said he thinks the chances of reforming the security agencies is very slim.  Come to think of it, I think Taibbi came to a similar conclusion and sort of predicted that a reaction in the form of a dictatorial move could be imminent.

So, listening to the podcast got me thinking about all this again.  I used to think that enduring the “Resistance” was just the price we had to pay to get on with the job of changing the Republican Party.  But now I see the Deep State as a parasite that has hijacked the government and subverted the lawful working of our democracy.  And the more I thought about it the more convinced I became that firing, prosecuting and imprisoning the conspirators was just as important as the other priorities of the Trump administration.  All the way back to J. Edgar Hoover the FBI has been blackmailing American presidents and calling the shots behind the scenes.  After the Patriot Act, they’ve been given surveillance weapons that in concert with Democrat allies in the Courts, Media and Congress can disrupt every action of an Administration that they don’t like.

And it gets worse.  The Democrats and probably some of the imbecilic Republicans are willing to go down this road.  They used the Mueller investigation to hound out of office and even imprison men that had done nothing wrong.  They are trying to delegitimize a presidency and criminalize the normal workings of the executive branch.  Really, the only way forward in this situation is to have Barr start firing the upper echelons of all the intelligence agencies until they run out of cabalists.  And not just the first couple of rungs.  He’ll have to decimate the upper management level in order to demoralize the middle management layer enough to start getting the cooperation needed.  What is needed is a whistleblower.  And the only way to get one is to remove the senior cabalists and thus remove the fear they inspire in their subordinates.

But will Barr do it?  He worked with all of these guys for years and probably belongs to the same clubs and social organizations they do.  He probably understands their point of view and the elitist attitude that informs it.  And he probably realizes how deadly serious are the consequences of crossing these people.

But here is where I differ from those on the dissident right.  I think it will happen.  I think that we have reached a point where our side knows it’s no longer possible to kowtow to the Deep State.  I think it will happen.  Maybe heads won’t actually roll but there will be criminal indictments and convictions and powerful men will go to prison.  I think it will happen and I know it has to if we are going to remain a free nation and not an Orwellian nightmare state.

Barr has been pursuing the origins of the Russiagate scam and it appears he has managed to unravel a loose end.  If he indicts some of the middle rankers like Peter Strzok or even reaches up to McCabe that should go a long way to getting one of these rats to sing.  So, I remain hopeful.

But as I said at the beginning, nailing one of these rats is almost useless.  The whole rotten structure of the intelligence agencies has to demolished and rebuilt on a basis that recognizes the primacy of the President’s authority over it.  Without that we’ll be back where we are now sooner or later.  So right up there with “build that wall” should “drain that swamp.”

A Very Unfunny Joke

A priest, a rabbi and a minister happen to meet in a bar.  Everybody has heard these kinds of jokes.  Let’s try a different kind of joke.  A cokehead, a gangster’s nephew and the heir to a ketchup fortune met in Washington.  Well that doesn’t sound as funny.  Wait, it gets better.  Especially since the gangster is the recently dearly departed Whitey Bulger, the cokehead’s father is Joe Biden and John Kerry is the stepfather of the Prince of Ketchup.  Ah, now you see.  Each of these men has been able to turn nepotism into a pot of gold.  There’s definitely something funny going on there but it’s definitely not a coincidence that these three men met up.  Joe Biden and John Kerry were powerful members of the Obama administration who allowed their relatives to trade off their names with foreign governments that could benefit from decisions of the Obama administration.  James Bulger is just the latest manifestation of the Massachusetts proclivity for shady politics.  James’s father, Billy Bulger, was Whitey’s brother but he was also the President of the Massachusetts Senate for eighteen years and used his influence to enrich himself and his family and insinuate them into circles that would perpetuate their influence.  And, of course, John Kerry and Billy Bulger are old Bay State friends.

Apparently, this is what all the hullaballoo was about with the Russia-gate scam.  The Obama administration was a giant grift where the leaders used their relatives to siphon off billions using influence peddling operations.  If China wanted to buy up American military technology companies, well Hunter Biden would partner with them to make it seem legitimate.  It meant greasing some palms, but the Chinese got what they wanted and so did the Bidens.  It sounds a lot like the Clinton uranium scam for the Russians.  And it also includes the Ukraine grift.  And after Hillary and company lost the election, they started the Russiagate frame-up to deflect attention from their own foreign crimes.  And yet somehow, we’re supposed to believe that the same CIA and FBI that seems to have wire-taps in every room in the White House didn’t know a thing about Hillary’s and Biden’s grifts.  That’s the unfunny joke.

I watched Rudy Giuliani make the rounds with the television political pundits.  He laid out the evidence and made the case that all the evidence being ignored by the Press and the Deep State is a mountain compared to the molehill of the alleged whistleblower in the CIA that is all over the front pages of all the MSM outlets.  He declared he is waiting for the Justice Department to do something about it.  But will they?

We are about to find out if Barr is a real American or just another swamp dweller.  With all the information out there, if the Justice Department takes no action at all then basically Trump is on his own.  In fact, wouldn’t Barr know that someone had changed the definition of whistleblower to include hearsay?  Could something as rigged as that rule change happen without alarm bells going off in the Attorney General’s office?

But an even larger issue is the fact that the surveillance state now controls the actions of the President of the United States.  Unelected spies control the actions of our elected officials and spy on all of us too.  President Trump has the unenviable task of draining the swamp while fighting off the nine-headed Lernaean Hydra of mythology that inhabits the swamp.  And just like that mythical beast every time one head is cut off (e.g., Comey or Brennan) three more grow back.

I’ve come to believe that the only way to get back control of our country is to dismantle the surveillance apparatus.  In a way I think it would be a good platform for the President to run on in 2020.  Purging Washington of these wannabe KGB masterminds would be popular with many moderates and independents too.

When I imagine how I would tackle the job that Barr is supposed to do, I imagine assembling all the upper echelons of, let’s say, the CIA and after explaining how allowing the resistance to sabotage the Trump Administration is dereliction of duty I’d fire the whole top level of the organization.  Then while these big shots were being rudely escorted off the premises, I would address their direct reports with the following ultimatum, provide evidence of who the remaining obstructionists are or immediately follow their former bosses out the door.  I would give them at least five minutes to make up their minds if they wanted to cooperate and if they didn’t volunteer information by then I’d have them escorted out the door and move on to the next echelon down.  This plan has the advantage that as you move down the chain of command the importance of a pay check becomes more and more critical.  Eventually you will reach someone who would rather be an employed civil servant than an unemployed resistance fighter.

As you can see, I have a very unsubtle way of looking at things but the point is, cleaning out that rat’s nest needs to be done somehow or other.  When rampant government malfeasance is ignored by the FBI and CIA but these same agencies abuse their power to hamper the legitimately elected representatives of the people it’s time to start over.

Now that the President has started down this road it can’t be more than a week or two before we know whether Barr is there to clean up or cover up the mess.  Fingers crossed.

What is Trump’s Secret?

What makes President Trump so effective?  It’s actually two things together.

  • He knows how the game has been played.
  • He’s not afraid of the players.

Let me elaborate

1)

Donald Trump has looked behind the curtain and he knows the wizard is a fraud.  He has spent his life dealing at first hand with the frauds and thieves who run the government in places like New York City and he knows that they’re corrupt and he knows they’re vulnerable.  The Democrats have used their identity politics so successfully for so long because the Republicans will accommodate almost any compromise so long as their personal privileges are maintained.  Both sides have abandoned the middle classes in exchange for Wall Street money and an identity politics charade in which each side plays its assigned part.  The Left stokes the resentment of minorities and women and the Establishment Right mouths its platitudes about the Constitution and promises its constituency that half a loaf is better than nothing and someday the new Americans will see the light and forsake the Democrats.

Donald Trump could see from a mile off that JEB! and the rest of the Kabuki Theater crew were setting up to hand Hillary a rather easy win and he decided to pull the curtain aside and let the people see the truth about the Great and Powerful Wizard of Oz, that he was a fraud.  He showed us that everything they said was a lie and the only missing ingredient needed for winning was wanting to win.

And even when the Deep State has thrown literally everything including the kitchen sink at President Trump and his supporters, he is inexorably pushing them back in every direction he has applied force.

  • He forced the spineless Republican Congress to provide a tax cut and incentives for business to move back to the United States and in return the economy has come roaring back.
  • He resisted the bait to involve the United States in any major military adventures overseas and in return places like North Korea have begun to talk about peace.
  • He threatens NAFTA and China with tariffs and in return negotiations start to become the path forward.
  • He tells Mexico that endless immigrants on our southern border will be the end of their free trade gravy train and in return the Mexican president agrees to stanch the flow of Guatemalans.
  • He hires William Barr to be his Attorney General and in return Mueller folds his tent and Comey and company are quaking in their boots about the expected indictments that are just around the corner.2. When Donald Trump was a businessman negotiating with the government and the power brokers that call the shots, he found out that they are petty and mostly not that smart. He realized that if someone was willing to expose both sides of the scam, Democrat and Republican, then the people would see something worth voting for.

2)

Now this is not a risk-free enterprise.  People like the Clintons have made the politics of personal destruction a veritable art form.  When you add in the operatives that Obama and Hillary staffed the Justice Department with you are talking about a recipe for high powered railroading of anyone standing in their way.  Just look at the victims of the Mueller investigation, some of them were men whose only crime was agreeing to talk to the FBI without a lawyer present.

But President Trump has demonstrated that he knows how to navigate the swamp and now it looks like he has come out on the other side of this cesspool and is positioned to give them a taste of their own medicine.

Being capable of successfully confronting the coordinated offensive of the Media, the Democrat Congress and the Deep State is almost unprecedented.  Nixon was forced to resign.  The Bushes were chewed up until by the end of their tenures there was nothing left of either.  And they were career politicians.  Trump can do it because he’s not afraid of them.  In fact, he enjoys punching back.  His ability to get his message out and draw blood from his adversaries is his trademark.  Low Energy Jeb and Crooked Hillary and Nervous Nancy.  He always draws blood and he keeps on jabbing until he’s made his point.

And that’s the secret of President Trump’s success.  Not only does he know his enemies’ weaknesses but he’s not afraid to go after them and make them afraid of him.  And this is only the beginning.  Once the Comeys and Brennans start to cut deals to get leniency we will see some bigger fish get fried.  I’m of the opinion that by 2024 he’ll have retired or imprisoned most of the current big names in Democrat politics.  Who knows, could Hillary be on that list?

So that’s what I think is the formula responsible for the political jiu-jitsu he does so well.  He knows their tricks and he’s not afraid to mix it up with them.  The other Republicans lack part or all of this combination.  The knowledge and the courage.  Let’s be thankful he came along.  Let’s hope he trains his successor.  We can’t afford any more Bushes.

26MAY2019 – OCF Update

Please excuse the sparsity of posting this weekend.  An illness in the family took precedence, of course.  I hope to put something together for tomorrow that may be interesting.  It shouldn’t be too difficult with all the fascinating chaos swirling around our maelstrom of revolt.  The Brexit Party has upended the Establishment apple-cart in the British European Parliament election.  Essentially it’s like a second Brexit vote and this has finally forced Theresa May to declare her resignation for sabotaging the Brexit and even bungling that.  Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage are the men of the hour and with any luck they’ll force a hard Brexit and begin to eject the Remain Conservatives from their seats.

Trump and Barr are the focus on this side of the Atlantic and the prospect of DOJ Swamp Critters outbidding each other to be the Rat Who Stayed Out of Prison just warms my vengeful little heart.  Can you imagine Comey, Clapper and Brennan each trying to spin a tale that makes the other two the criminals and himself just an innocent bystander.  Be still my beating heart.

I’ll put up a review of the Blade Runner 2049 movie.  And I have a few things to say about the Globalists.

And finally I’d like to give a ShatnerKhan update.  Camera Girl has made destructive comments concerning the value of ShatnerKhan.  I won’t say this has threatened the marriage but it has certainly lowered my opinion of her cultural literacy.  But I haven’t allowed this assault to lessen my zest for all things Shatner.  Even now I am drafting the audio-visual list.  The Original Series, of course.  The two Twilight Zone episodes, absolutely.  Secrets of a Married Man, it’s canonical.  I have to watch some of Boston Legal to see if it’s Shatneresque enough for me.  But I don’t think I’ll go back to TJ Hooker.  Even I have limits.

Hopefully it will be a good week.

William Barr Revisited

Back in the middle of April I said that although William Barr appeared to be a typical apparatchik of the Washington Swamp, the fact that some of my fellow deplorables were strangely optimistic about the prospect of Barr prosecuting the upper echelons of the Obama administration over the Russia-gate did give me pause that maybe I was being too pessimistic about Barr.

Watching Barr’s testimony in the Senate last week was very illuminating.  I’m starting to think I might be wrong about him.  This did not appear to be a man who was interested in placating the Left.  In fact, he seemed to be a man who was confidently intent on straightening out an intentionally tangled web of lies.  And because of this he seems to be charting his own course for getting it done.  Appearing before the Senate and not kowtowing to the lunatic left represented there by that inveterate liar Blumenthal and that idiot Hirono demonstrated that he’s not interested in currying favor.  And cancelling the House questioning when he could see that they would use it to showboat their outrage in a chamber where Republicans would be powerless to prevent a spectacle was brilliant.

The cyclone of left-wing anger and fear this cancellation caused is a wonder to behold.  Shortly after his Senate appearance, the New York Times published leaked information from the cabal to try and get ahead of revelations that they knew will be publicized by the various investigations going on in the Justice Department over the overt and unlawful spying that the FBI and its allies here and overseas conducted against members of the Trump campaign.  This is obviously a consequence of the Swamp anticipating grand jury testimony by members of the Russia-gate conspirators.  Possibly they are hoping to sway public opinion to the idea that what was done was reasonable and legal.  And if the Attorney General were a risk-averse and politically sensitive member of the swamp this scripting would probably be an effective tactic.  But what if instead of being risk-averse, Barr is a seasoned law enforcement professional and someone who doesn’t like to be manipulated.  And what if he is aware of just how much power and discretion the Attorney General of the United States is granted in the pursuit of high crimes and misdemeanors perpetrated against the U. S. Constitution?  And further what if he knows that the President of the United States has been the victim of a railroading exercise and that said President is a vindictive bastard who would like nothing better than to nail his enemies’ hides to the barn door?  Well, that could be a very interesting situation.

Now that is a very long list of suppositions.  The biggest one is that William Barr is actually courageously patriotic enough to take on the entire Deep State for Donald Trump with whom he has no past allegiance.  Many of the conspirators Barr would be exposing are colleagues that he has known for decades.  And unless his life has been preternaturally spotless, he will be assaulted by every newspaper and television journalist that can be drafted into service by the Swamp.  And even if he is as pure as the driven snow, they will attack his friends and family and if necessary, they will get crazy people to perjure themselves claiming every crime from rape and murder down to shoplifting and jaywalking.  In the last extremity I wouldn’t put murder past these people.  So, I still think it is entirely possible that Barr will be the firewall to shut down the Mueller investigation without the Deep State paying a price.

But I’m much less certain of it.  In fact, I’m becoming more optimistic that Donald Trump has finally found an Attorney General who knows how to perform that job.  And that should become apparent within the next month or two.  It won’t take too long for grand juries to be convened.  If I see that happening before the Fourth of July, I’ll believe that Barr is for real.  What happens after that is less clear cut.  I think there is a range of possibilities.

The first possibility is that the Deep State has their own firewall in place.  To anyone with even a scintilla of discernment Peter Strzok and Andrew McCabe have the words “fall guy” emblazoned across their foreheads in flashing red letters.  I think it’s even possible that they’ve willingly volunteered for the assignment.  Strzok just seems too gleefully eager to play the part he’s been assigned.  If the two of them fall on their swords and accept the blame for the whole mess then it will be difficult to prove otherwise.  Of course, I wouldn’t doubt that their families would somehow receive some kind of quid pro quo in the form of a multi-million-dollar kick starter paid for by the Clinton Foundation or some other crime family money laundering operation.

But if either one of them is not a willing fall guy then squeezing one or both of them will be extremely efficacious.  If McCabe turns state’s evidence then Comey, at least, is dead meat.  And after watching Jim Comey over the last few years I would be very surprised if he didn’t roll over and give up everyone involved up to and including his boss, Loretta Lynch.  After that, who knows?  Could these people be rolled up all the way to Obama.  I guess it’s possible.  But a thing that has to be remembered is that just because something can be done doesn’t mean it should be.  Convicting a former Attorney General of the United States of conspiracy to undermine the election of a U. S. President would be tantamount to starting a civil war between the left and right.  And I’m not saying it would be unjustified.  Basically, what has been done is treason.  But the consequences of pursuing this all the way will not be without severe consequences for both sides.    Without a doubt, some limits may be imposed by the President and his Cabinet if they think it will be too explosive to pursue the white rabbit all the way down into Wonderland.  But if these swamp creatures talk, the results will be at the very least assurance of a second Trump term.

Okay, that’s a lot of supposition to hang on William Barr, at this point.  Let’s see what he does in the next eight weeks and that should tell us what we need to know about the conclusion of the Russia-gate hoax.  Stay tuned.

On-Line Article Review – Conrad Black – What the Mueller Probe Really Means

https://nationalinterest.org/feature/what-mueller-probe-really-means-53582

Conrad Black has been one of the President’s staunchest supporter.  Now he explains why the AG’s investigation of the investigators or more accurately the conspirators responsible for this outrageous witch hunt is sure to be very interesting.

The subtitle for the article is “The real fireworks will only begin now as Trump seeks to investigate the investigators.

Here’s a taste of what he says is in store for the Anti-Trump conspirators:

“The country is unlikely to have much patience with any more investigations of Trump. But it will be startled by the findings of the inspector general of the Justice Department, Mr. Michael E. Horowitz’s next report, and possibly by the mysterious special counsel John Huber (of Salt Lake City) looking into the Uranium and related activities of the Clinton Foundation for the last eighteen months, and by Attorney General William Barr and the Senate Judiciary Committee’s inquiries into how this destructive smear job was launched against the president in the first place. Some combination of those investigations is going to lay bare this entire sordid business, and some swollen and much-talking heads will roll.”

All I can say is, Conrad, from your mouth to God’s ear.

William Barr and the Deplorables

William Barr has lived his whole life as part of the elite.  From the day he was born his family has ensured that he went to the best schools and was considered for career opportunities in government and corporate circles that no one but the rich and highly connected are ever considered for.

Probably the only things I’ll say about William Barr that strike me as promising are that he worked in the Reagan White House and he considered Roe v Wade as an unconstitutional decision.  And if you happen to hate music you may be cheered by the fact that he is an avid bagpiper.

My only point to this description is that William Barr doesn’t scream deplorable to me.  In recent posts I’ve stated that only time will tell whether he is an honest public servant or a firewall meant to close out the Mueller investigation without any chance for payback.

His recent statements to Congress describing the Russia-gate strategy as the Obama administration “spying” on the Trump campaign have touched off a firestorm among Democrats.  But reviewing his statements they are actually pretty bland in their sizing up of the FBI’s behavior.  They in no way inspire me to think that Barr is out for blood from the conspirators.

So, when a friend of mine came up to me on Wednesday and started smiling and asking me whether I had seen Barr’s testimony I was truly surprised.  This friend of mine is, to say the least, a pessimist when it comes to the Trump Administration in general and who specifically is convinced that in the DOJ, the fix is always in.  But that day he was bubbling with enthusiasm and pretty convinced that Barr is getting ready to nail some FBI hides to the barn door.  Now, why would this be?  Does he know something I don’t?  It doesn’t seem so.

Thinking about this encounter afterwards, I couldn’t decide whether he was over enthusiastic or I was too cautious.  But even if all this means nothing in terms of the substance of what Barr will do, I think it says something important about the bigger picture among the Deplorables.  I think they are starting to believe they can win.  I think they are starting to realize that President Trump can win re-election and the Right may get another shot at cleaning up the mess we are in.  But mostly I think they are thinking that some of the Swamp Dwellers may be going to prison.  They really, really like the sound of that.  That was the single most important result that my friend took out of Barr’s statement.  He thought that Barr was telegraphing his intention to punish the Comeys and the Clappers of the world.  And he always returned at the end to his greatest hope that somehow it would go back all the way up the line to Obama.  It almost sounded like a prayer.

Well.

So now I’m the pessimist.  I don’t think for a minute that Obama will ever even have to talk to a prosecutor or even a Congressional Panel on this sort of thing.  If Barr ever demonstrates that he’s serious about punishing the Russia-gate crew I would hope that he’d go after the low hanging fruit first and scoop up McCabe, Comey and Clapper.  They’ve been so careless in their statements and actions that a blind man could follow that trail of bread crumbs back to their feet.  And squeezing them would be the surest way to go after the bigger fish like Mueller and Loretta Lynch.

And I have no proof that Barr will ever do anything.  I wouldn’t bet a dollar on anything ever coming out of the AG’s investigations.  I have a total wait and see attitude.

But I will say that the fact that the Deplorables are getting enthusiastic, in and of itself, is a positive development.  And that development leads me to predict that better days are definitely here and that as these things usually go, we can expect even more good news in the short to medium range.  Why, it wouldn’t surprise me to hear that some piece of bad news will be popping up about one or the other of the Left’s favorites.  Something like the Joe Biden comedy last week, only bigger and more hilarious.

So, there’s my reading of the entrails or the tea leaves or whatever your favorite fortune telling substrate happens to be.  Happy days are here again.  Go forth and rejoice.  I so decree.

Oh, on a side note I did read that Barr’s father did write a couple of science fiction books.  I’ll add a teaspoon of weight in his son’s favor just because that does indicate a tiny possibility of common humanity in there somewhere.  Maybe I’ll even read them to see if he’s any good.

28MAR2019 – Trump in Michigan

Trump’s rally in Michigan got started about a half hour late but I still watched the first thirty, forty minutes.  Boy, he was having fun.  He reminisced about the Michigan rally he had on the night before the 2016 election.  And he managed to re-use his Hillary chant of “lock her up” as “lock them up” for the Russia-gate crew.

But what I was interested about was whether he was serious when he said that the conspirators must be held accountable.  If he means he expects a prosecutor to indict them then I’m very interested.  That would be a quantum leap from what has always been Republican status quo.  Remember when George W. Bush assigned a prosecutor over the Plame fake scandal.  The prosecutor tortured Bush’s associates for years and Bush never even gave forlorn Scooter Libby a pardon, merely commuted his sentence.

If instead of meekly taking a beating President Trump turns the tables on the FBI it could be the chance to reform the intelligence agencies into what they are supposed to be, the servants of the people not our masters.  Of course, that’s almost a science fiction story but why shouldn’t I hope?  After all we’ve never seen a man like Trump in the White House.  Who’s to say that he won’t bust the whole dirty establishment to pieces just to get revenge on the creeps who tortured him for three years?

Hey, that felt good!  Anyway, it’s good to hear President Trump happy again.  Let’s see if he can leverage the momentum, he’s got from the Mueller capitulation to stampede these buffaloes off a cliff.  I sincerely hope he will.  But at least let’s enjoy this week.  It’s a treat to see the progs suffering the vapors again.
