Law and Order Rejected in 2022

One of the biggest stories coming out of the 2022 midterms is the rejection of law-and-order candidates by most of the states undergoing violent crime waves in their urban and suburban areas.  Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Minnesota and other cities had law and order candidates for city and state offices like mayor, attorney general and district attorney in the mid-terms.  And for the most part, these races went to the democrat candidates in a landslide.

I think this is highly significant.  This tells me that the political narrative is intact in these areas.  The white voters in these places are still part of the coalition.  No matter what qualms they have over the crime that now surrounds them every day they support the removal of police protection from their communities.

I don’t claim to know the actual breakdown by race and sex for these votes.  But I did see that the margins weren’t tight.  In some places like Minnesota, they were blowouts.

Good.  Democracy needs to triumph.  The people must get what they ask for.  I look forward to stories that chronicle the devolution of these areas.  And we are already hearing about the violent assaults, rapes and murders happening in places like New York and Los Angeles on a daily basis.  The people need to absorb the reality that they have chosen.

Of course, it won’t be complete until it reaches out from the inner city and engulfs the affluent and vulnerable suburbs and even rural enclaves where the ideological supporters of “defund the police” inhabit.  Already in the richest Los Angeles and Chicago suburbs theft and violent crime is becoming a daily reality.

Well, that sounds like good news to me.  When the victims of home invasion and various assaults call the police, they will have the comfort of knowing that the mostly black perpetrators won’t be the victims of overzealous police activities.  In fact, they won’t be pursued at all.  The officers will dutifully take down the victims’ information and upload it into the database for the sake of completeness and then head off to the next crime scene.

I often kid about cannibalism breaking out in New York City or St. Louis.  Well, with the price of food heading steeply higher maybe that’s not such a far-fetched idea.  But the main takeaway is that this experiment that began with Obama and his Justice Department sabotaging the policing of black criminality is widely supported by the Democrat constituencies in the states they control.

This will be allowed to play out.  And I think it will be a defining factor for the American environment in the months and years ahead.  Pretty quickly the bigger cities will take on the appearance and characteristics of third world hellholes like Mexico City and Rio de Janeiro.  Private security for the affluent will become the rule and the middle class will flee as far as they possibly can from the specter of violent crime that will become all pervasive.

This may sound hyperbolic.  It’s not.  I remember when crime exploded in New York City in the 1970s and 1980s.  People who had children fled.  The prospect of their children being brutally assaulted by violent criminals on the way to or even in the schools was a reality.  Old women were easy prey on the streets at all hours.

I saw these conditions force one of the most liberal cities of the time into the hands of a law-and-order mayor like Rudy Giuliani.  Will that happen again?  The answer we got this month is no.  Maybe this truly was the reaction to the Supreme Court decision on abortion.  Many on the Left have declared that this was white women choosing abortion rights over law and order.  Ironically it could be reasoned that they’re thinking, “Well if we’re going to be rape victims, at least we’ll have well-funded Planned Parenthood centers nearby for the associated abortion procedure to follow.  I guess there’s a certain logic to that.

From my point of view, I think this should cement for a lot of people the understanding that some parts of the country are going down a path that normal people do not want to live under.  Look at the conditions on the street in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York.  Tent cities of homeless living in front of swank apartment buildings and corporate offices.  Open air drug bazaars in the parks and streets.  Rampant and uncontested theft and assault.  This is the present.  The future will be worse.

Get out while you can.

Happy Thanksgiving 2022 to Everybody

What a splendiferous day.  Camera Girl, working on her early food preliminaries, busy as a bee and supremely skilled.  Me, lazier than a lion in the noonday sun, puttering around, anticipating the feeding frenzy to come.  I research anything that comes into my head.  I find solutions to problems that I’ve put off solving for years.  I’m profoundly contented.

I finally made a walkaround outside a little while ago.  That good, late afternoon sun, every photographer’s friend as it transmutes everything it touches into gold, gives me some subjects for my camera.  A frost-burned rosebud, a dying stalk of millet, some seared oak leaves on a branch.  Quite unspectacular subjects but with an obvious relevance to the season.  The walk was invigorating.  The fresh air did me good.

Tomorrow will be a full day of family.  I won’t spend much, if any, time on-line.  Which is all to the good.  The site daily content is all pre-loaded.  Hopefully the world will have the good grace not to explode until after I’ve enjoyed my holiday.  So, everyone will be so good as to amuse themselves tomorrow while I give thanks for all the wonderful people and things with which God has seen fit to populate his universe.

If something important or amusing strikes me and I decide to throw it onto the site tomorrow I hope most of you will be too busy or too groggy with food to notice.  There will be plenty of time on Friday or Saturday to catch up with my pearls of wisdom(?).

I’ll have to say the results of the elections have made me unexpectedly upbeat for the future.  I feel like the future is up to me to create and that greatly energizes me.  No more waiting for saviors or depending on luck.  I feel like the world is for those who seize the moment and wrest the future they want out of the indifferent present that we see around us.  The American dream was shown to be just that.  The fellowship with our American “brothers” on the Left has been revealed to be a lie.  But this revelation is liberating.  An open enemy is so much less dangerous than a false friend.  None of the Bushes or McConnells or Bidens or Obamas can surprise us anymore.  We know just how evil they are and we can anticipate most of their attacks at this point.  So, there’s no reason to think of them at all on a day of thanksgiving.  I’ll think about all the good people that I’ve heard about or met in the last year and I’ll be thankful for blessings that I know I’ve enjoyed.

I hope everyone out there eats and drinks way too much of some delicious things.  I hope that you have a chance to talk to some folks that mean something to you.  I hope everyone has time to think about this life and the good things that we should be thankful for.  And I hope you have a chance to enjoy yourself and relax.  I intend to stay up late tomorrow after everybody goes home and watch some old movies and get up late and then eat a lot of leftovers.

God bless you all.

What I’m Looking for Out There Next

Having aligned myself with those who are looking for something beside the “red wave” to save me I’ve been considering what that something could be.

With ballot harvesting and other forms of electoral fraud rendering the Republicans incapable of capturing power in Washington I turn to the question of whether any of the Red States will attempt to organize amongst themselves to achieve some of their objectives.

What I would be looking for is whether states like Florida and Texas and several other of the safely conservative states start to plan together on policies that would amplify the results they can obtain individually.  For instance, let’s look at immigration.  At the least significant level we are already seeing Florida imitate Texas in bussing illegal immigrants to Blue States.  Currently this is more of a gesture than a policy but look at the publicity it has garnered and look at the morale boost it provides.

But imagine if much more effective actions were planned and coordinated.  Suppose these states began to combine their clout to coerce corporations into behaving as good citizens.  Imagine if they cracked down on companies employing illegals.  Imagine if they coordinated their policies with respect to buying school books only from book publishers who provided a clearly conservative option.  What if they formed a syndicate and empowered it to dictate terms with tech companies?  And how about if they pooled their law enforcement assets and went after some of the things that the feds have given up on; illegal aliens, drug cartels, inner city gangs, sex trafficking?  They might achieve substantial results.

Let’s face it.  The feds are employing selective enforcement of the law to punish the Red States.  The ZMan discusses this policy of anarcho-tyranny.  As an example the feds ignore things like a mob burning down a city and instead punish the guy trying to protect his life and property from the mob with a gun   It’s up to the areas of the country still under control of normal people to protect themselves and come up with effective countermeasures to neutralize the sabotage that Biden’s criminal enterprise perpetrates against the American people every single day.

As I say, I am looking for signs that the states will begin to act both single-handedly and in concert with each other to make a stand against the damage Washington is doing.  I am hopeful that there will be some action along these lines and others that I haven’t thought of.

But I am also aware that the federal government will fight against any actions like these tooth and nail.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Justice Department threaten states and individuals like governors and legislators personally with lawsuits and even criminal prosecutions.  Any effective actions by the states on these issues will powerfully undercut the damage caused by the selective enforcement of federal laws and policies.  Biden, Obama and their cronies are aware that if the states get the upper hand, it won’t be long before resistance against many of these evil policies will take hold across the length and breadth of this country.

Imagine if states began ignoring Washington’s insane dictates on the environment, energy, law enforcement, education and all the ways the feds have harmfully interfered in the way people live their lives.

Why before you know it, it might start feeling like a free country again.  Who knows, we might start being happy again.
